THE BOOTLEG SHADOWS

This year The Shadows celebrate their 50th anniversary so we’re delighted to welcome The Bootleg Shadows to The Civic Hall. In 1960 Hank B Marvin, Bruce Welch, Jet Harris and Tony Meehan recorded ‘Apache’, launching the Shadows’ instrumental career. With their immaculate appearance, synchronized dance movements and clean, pure melodic sound, the Shadows chalked up 35 hits of their own (plus another 33 hits with Cliff Richard), giving them more hits than any other British group. The Shadows make few live appearances but The Bootleg Shadows keep their ‘Live’ sound alive by performing a fantasy concert encompassing the Shadows’ amazing career from 1960 up until the early 80s including ‘Foot Tapper’, ‘Man of Mystery’, ‘Atlantis’, ‘Wonderful Land’, ‘Kon Tiki’, ‘Don’t Cry for Me Argentina’, ‘FBI’ and many more. You’ll be humming the tunes and doing the Shadows’ famous ‘walk’ long after you’ve left the theatre.

Community Arts

The Community Arts Network

This new and exciting initiative is being championed by The Civic Hall to help promote information exchange between arts groups, individual and patrons. There are many groups in the area each giving up a lot of time and effort to promote themselves and their particular areas of arts interests. By sharing resources, experiences and working together in partnership we should be able to identify new opportunities, promote joint working and eventually introduce links on the web.

For further details and information on how your arts group could become involved please contact Tim Norton on (024) 7637 6705.
