Welcome... Training programme 2010 - 2011 Welcome to Audiences NI’s 10/11 training programme. Using feedback from our members we have devised a programme, designed to help arts marketers develop new and existing skills and knowledge, as well as offer practical advice with topical issues such as; social media, media strategy and finance. Knowing who your audiences are and where they come from is a must have for planning your marketing activities. However, there’s a wealth of further information and resources that sit alongside your Mosaic report, which will help you to understand and target your audiences, and potential audiences, more effectively. This session is for organisations which have already received a Mosaic report, or are planning to undertake one in the near future, It will provide a quick overview of how Mosaic works. Helping you draw wider conclusions about your customer segments, the session will give practical advice on how you can use Mosaic to target new audiences or engage with your existing audiences in different and effective ways.

This practical session will investigate new and emerging web platforms. It will explore how as arts practitioners we can utilise these to increase engagement with our organisations, both internally and externally. We will be able to work on creating new social media platforms and demystifying Twitter, Ning, Posterous, Tumblr as well as Facebook and Flickr. This training will show that social media is a tool for everyone in the organisation to use, and not only the domain of the marketing team. *Please note that places for both these dates are limited and will be assigned on a first come, first served basis.

With over 50 million Tweets sent each day, Twitter has become a popular way to communicate with audiences,and to provide a platform of open dialogue between organisations and their audience. This session will provide practical examples of successful Twitter campaigns and clarify some of the associated terms such as hashtags, follow Fridays and retweets.

Designed to help delegates develop their creative approach and improve the effectiveness of their copywriting. It will look at ways to get your creative juices flowing and techniques for injecting life into your copy. Delegates will explore how to make the story the most convincing using a natural, compelling style. Jo will share some of the copywriting dos and don’ts, developed for Wales Millennium Centre. The session will also show how to manage a degree of consistency across a range of different media.
