Funeral lockdown ■ Search continues for killers and weapon used in Blackpool murder
TIGHT security will be in place next week for the funeral of murder victim Aidan O’Driscoll.

Although the post mortem on the 37year-old’s body concluded yesterday, his remains can be held up until Monday under the Coroners Act. His funeral will take place next week amid very tight security given his links to dissident republicanism. Gardaí continue their hunt for the two men who approached and shot him on Old Commons Road on Wednesday. Searches are underway for the weapon used in the daring attack. Mr O’Driscoll had recently returned playing football with Delanys GAA who announced that they were cancelling all activities this weekend as a mark of respect to his family. Club chairman Brian Twomey expressed deep sadness at his death: “I knew Aidan for about 30 years. He was a terrible nice fella and couldn’t do enough for anyone.” Gardaí have appealed for witnesses who have not yet spoken to gardaí to come forward. And Superintendent
