GIVE ME AN ‘M’... MAYFIELD ALL-IRELAND HOPES ■ Audrey Ellard Walsh MAYFIELD fans are counting down the days to Saturday’s AllIreland Junior Hurling final in Croke Park. The parish is decked out in red and white ahead of the club’s showdown with Kilkenny side Mooncoin. They are hoping to be the fourth Cork team to win the AllIreland Club Junior Hurling Championship. Junior and senior classes at St Patrick’s Infant School, Gardiner’s Hill, held a red and white day this week, making headbands and pom-poms to show their support for their hurling heroes. The school said they are fully behind the team and hope that they can bring the cup back on Saturday. Throw in for this weekend’s game is 3pm, with a dedicated train, filled with Mayfield fans, leaving Cork at 8.30am to cheer on their side. ■ See Page 3 and Echo Sport.
