Border Games
“Crossing an experience Before an experience” We can build borders all day But Immigrants will constantly find solutions to get through it legally or illegally. Which makes developement of physical boundaries, such as walls, a waste of our time. So why not approach the border a different way and play a little crossing game with the crossers to each side. Border Games will challenge you mentally and physically through obstacles and complicated circulation throughout your travels to the other side of the border.

Glass Glass is a non-crystalline amorphous solid that is often transparent and has widespread practical, technological, and decorative usage in, for example, window panes, tableware, and optoelectronics. Glass is part of my facade that exposes the public spaces that have a need to be enclosed but still feels open to the exterior simultaneously.

Limestone Limestone is a sedimentary rock composed primarily of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) in the form of the mineral calcite. It most commonly forms in clear, warm, shallow marine waters. It is usually an organic sedimentary rock that forms from the accumulation of shell, coral, algal, and fecal debris. It can also be a chemical sedimentary rock formed by the precipitation of calcium carbonate from lake or ocean water.
Concrete Concrete is a composite material composed of coarse aggregate bonded together with a fluid cement that hardens over time.
Wood Wood is a porous and fibrous structural tissue found in the stems and roots of trees, and other woody plants. It is an organic material, a natural composite of cellulose fibers which are strong in tension embedded in a matrix of lignin which resists compression.

BROWNSVILLE MATAMOROS
The architecture of this border crossing, located in Loredo, Texas, plays its role as a social and cultural agent. This project was very challenging politically and socially, as it deals with urban growth and change. The investigation and process focuses on the border zone between the US and Mexico, which has become an evolving urban landscape. The contemporary debate about the future of the border is troubled by issues of immigration, commerce, illegal trafficking, water rights, and the environment as a whole. Underlying these concerns is the imbalance of wealth faced by many crossborder cultures—from North Africa to Southeast Asia to the Middle East—and a sense that one side militarizes against the other. Yet despite its problems, the border is a generator of commerce, culture, tourism, and recreation.

P e r s p e ct i ves “The lifeblood of two worlds merging to form a third country – a border culture… A border is a dividing line, a narrow strip along a steep edge. A border is a vague and undetermined place created by the emotional residue of an unnatural boundary.” — Gloria Anzaldúa, Borderlands/La Frontera
