Every year, the number of elderly in Chiang Mai is growing. Regarding this, there is a social experiment called Old people's home for 4 years old. It is a unique social experiment that brings together the elderly in a retirement community with a group of 4-year-olds and the result is amazing. They both receive fascinating advantages from each other.
Social experiment : Old People's Home for 4 years old
The elderly and the children are gathered and settled here on a creative community, Khuan Khama, which is a neighborhood that encourages creativity education for children. So, I create an artist in residence including an art kindergarten which is a new public space that fulfills an early public space for this society.

The designs are divided into 3 phases: Studio alley, Flexible classroom, and public space for all.
Firstly, Studio alley is a residence that includes a small art studio for each guest. The resident is divided by 2 meters alley in the middle to fits the enclosed street.

Moving onto the 2nd phase, Flexible classroom includes 5 courses: drawing, painting, sculpture, paint making, and creative crafts.
Due to the particularity of how children use areas for different courses, this classroom accommodates indoor space, outdoor space, and semi-outdoor space for convenience.

Lastly, Public space for all is a wide courtyard that can transform into an exhibition area, workshop area, or even a walking street.
This design located on a street of 1-meter width. Visitors would overlook this street so only the locals come to this area.

Dr. Maliwan Tammasaeng produces an uncommon concert called Love is hear, a concert that enabling deaf people to listen to music with hearing people by contacting vibrant from a balloon beside each concert seat which converts from auditory system to sensory system.
After the research, I noticed that structure of audio waves, light waves, and water waves are the same, and the thing that allows deaf people to comprehend all those waves is a shadow.
There is an analysis shows that general public spaces produce noise pollution up to 65 dB. This diagram not only explains how noisy it is but also reveals the louder the sound, the more heart beating.
Speaking of the sound of music and hearing loss, one would think of Beethoven. He is one of the most admired composers in the history of Renaissance music that unpredictable and if he was completely deaf but still could compose a melodic opus. Is it impossible that composing music has a certain tangible composition?

So that I analyze a piece of music called Moonlight Sonata, illustrate by editing notes into a tangible scheme.
Consequently, this project becomes a noiseless theatre for a silent mime and exhibition area that gives a diverse experiencing by a shadow.
The design located close by Mae Takhrai National Park remains 3 points: Main Theatre, Light's shadow exhibition area, and Water's shadow exhibition area.
To begin with, the theatre divided into 2 parts which are an indoor theatre and an outdoor theatre. For indoor theatre, owing to the sound is traveling upward, underground is the way to avoid the surrounding noise. Also, an outdoor theatre has a performance stage on 1 and a half-width river and a two-way seat.

Secondly, Light's shadow exhibition area is a light path through the voids of the building which associate with Beethoven's music.

The final is the water's shadow exhibition area. A high bridge that came across the river is the first step before coming into the exhibition area which along with the river like Beethoven's a piece of music.

The main canteen of Chiang Mai University is the center of Chiang Mai University scholars and personnel that sells many kinds of food along with Northern Thai cuisine.
