01. Petite House Design Brief : This house has a very narrow area with dimensions of 5m x 12m. The client’s needs and wants are 3 bedrooms and 1 mini library which accommodated in two stories building, also wrapped in a modern minimalist interior theme with warm neutral color. Thus, the present solution is to minimize the use of a massive wall and use some built-in multifunctional furniture.

Living & Guest

Furniture like arm chair and coffee table chosen by its shape which not too bulky. This meant to make the room does not feel cramped and easier to clean the area under the chairs and the table. The used material is dominated with a soft texture, so then the unfinished white brick wall gives some rough texture to the whole room. The space under the stairs used as a bathroom and custom built-in multifunctional storage. Material : Ivory Paint

Kitchen & Dining

There is no partition between the living room and kitchen, also a linear kitchen set will make space feels wider. A custom folding dining set that can store inside the wall also provide more space when needed. Natural daylight and ventilation at the back of the house are maximized by a small green area with a fish pond next to the dining area.

Master Bedroom

The needs of storage in this bedroom are maximized by placing shelves and cabinets above the bed, also use some mirror finishing to create an illusion of a room that feels wider. A custom wardrobe is also placed inside the wall which uses the space under the stairs next to the wall.

Bedroom 1

Inside the kid’s room, the desk aligned with the wardrobe and has a slim shape. The needs for storage provided by some cabinets under and shelves above the desk. An addition of a vanity table in this first bedroom is enabled for the older sister’s needs of self-care. The color used is dominated by pastel cream to gives a warm atmosphere. The room’s layout is still the same compare to the bedroom 1, the difference is the use of a vanity table turned into a blackboard. Because the younger sister still in an elementary school and likes to draw. The used color which is more bright chosen as the younger sister’s favorite color and also gives a more playful atmosphere.

02. BY Apartment Design Brief : Scandinavian design style shows beauty, simplicity, clean, and inspired by nature. Easy access also can be applied for any society. A Scandinavian style prioritizing functionality without losing any elegance of itself. Using a lot of wood material, natural color, modest furniture, also integrated with nature like provide big windows. In this design, the Scandinavian style will be embodied with a hint of navy blue and bright yellow as an accent. This way can feature the common pattern of Scandinavian style with some bold touch, also bring the user’s design preferences as making it more personal. The user of the apartment is a law college student whom also actively making video content about fashion and beauty. Therefore, she needs some space for a video setup and a mini walk-in closet.

Living Room As seen in the picture, the blue and yellow accent that previously described were highlighted in this room. Harmoniously combined with other wood material and warm yellow light to bring the warmth. A cozy place to relax by watching tv, sip a cup of tea or coffee in the morning, also invite some friends to gather. Material : White Paint

Video Setup The area for video setup is located next to the living room and has a big window on the left side as the main lighting source during the day. Also blends with the dining area with no partition. Comes with some storage to keep any video setting equipment or others.


Bathroom Divided into a wet and dry area to keep it clean and ease the cleaning process. The yellow accent comes with gold plated hardware, mix with a marble vanity table to brings the elegance shade. While combining white classic tile and hexagonal tile defined the Scandinavian simplicity. Material : White Tile

Kitchen An efficient small kitchen set that still can be a convenience to preparing food, and has been accommodated with washing machine. There is a service area on the right side, open the door while cooking gives the advantage to release smoke or any strong odor easier.

Bedroom Different from any other rooms, the bedroom theme has a soft baby blue color to create calmness. Dominated with simple white coated and wood furniture. An L-shaped desk to defined study area and provide more storage, separated by walk-in closet area with glass partition so as not lose focus while studying. Material : Baby Blue Paint

Walk-in Closet A pretty big area to dressed up. The closet enabled to keep quiet a lot of clothes, shoes, bags, and jewelry. Also has a full body mirror. Last but not least, a simple vanity table with some drawers to store any kind of beauty products. Additional pendant light for extra light source when needed.

Surabaya Autism Center Design Propose : To create an inclusive environment for children with autism which act as a catalyst for autistic children’s development based on their condition. Also gives place for parents to educate their self how to deal with autistic children

For 3-8 years old, all chairs formed in circle to improve reaction between individuals. And for 9-10 years old the chairs formed in a formal way similar to a formal school, aim to be a transition for children with autism when they are ready to transfer to a formal school.

Carpet and storage shelves being the partition elements which make autistic child easier to distinguish every area in the class.


Mild Classroom Located near motorcycle parking area and the main entrance because children with autism at this level are most likely to tolerate noise from outside the building. Intended for hypo-reactive behaviors autistic child whom relatively easier to handled and not too sensitive to any stimuli. Red color palette works as a tool to increase autistic child’s sensitivity and their focuses to the surrounding.

Severe Classroom Located between moderate and mild classroom to minimize any noise outside the building. Intended for hyper-reactive behaviors autistic child whom relatively difficult to handled and too sensitive to any stimuli. Blue color palette works as a tool to decrease autistic child’s sensitivity and their focuses to the surrounding.

Moderate Classroom Located near the passive outside zone and some area of the active outside zone which noise is still tolerable for children with autism in moderate classroom. Intended for autistic children with condition between the other two level. Purple color palette provide stimulation not as strong as red color neither as low as blue color.

04. BW Kitchen Design Brief : The client wants a modern minimalist kitchen with black accent to create a masculine look. The kitchen itself expected to have lot of storage to accommodate any household needs other than kitchen tools and food materials. All space must well arranged to allow lot of storage area. Not to mention, still have decent work flow, lighting, and air circulation.

It has L layout plan with “kitchen triangle rule”. To maximize space, it also added a kitchen island which not only works as preparation area, but also a non formal dining table. This solution is to maintain more room in other space, in line with client wants who feel that a specific dining room is not needed for now. Because the kitchen located under the stairs, so it is needed to have a proper window to provide decent lighting and air circulation while cooking. All cabinet to store any household needs placed above and under the kitchen counter top table.

05. Hokka(w)ido Design Propose : This project is aimed for middle up society. Sued to create an innovative and functional house in narrow area. Cover with modern style which applied cheap, efficience, and easy maintenance material but keep an eye on the aesthetics look. The design proposal take the minimalism of modern Japandi style as a value of having a well nice live. The W letter in “Hokka(w)ido represent the word “western” which means a mix of modern style from western countries.

06. Teras Jahe Part 1 Design Brief : Teras Jahe is a food trademark which sells various kind of ginger ale. Ginger ale itself has been a traditional drink in Indonesia that have been enjoyed since the time of our grandparents. Therefore, the client wants to use traditional local material as featured. This matter will bring modernity to those traditional style in café and eatery typology. It also reaches a wider market to attract young adult whose really pay attention to the aesthetic look of a place. The design inspiration comes from a container which use as a drying container for ginger called “tampah” and “besek”. In order to featured local material, bamboo and rattan were chosen as the main accent. Covered in modern ethnic style to elevate those material into the next level of fascinating look.

All kitchen and preparation area located in the first floor. With an open kitchen concept as a design solution in retail due to Covid-19, which insist hygiene in all aspect. While from the commercial side, this concept means to elevate the brand which has a unique cooking process of ginger ale compared to others.

The second floor set as seating area with built in sofa and a VIP room. Since one of the Covid-19 pandemic prevention is keep each other distance, the built in sofa has its own distance that disguised by providing a pot between each group seating area.

07. Teras Jahe Part 2 Design Brief : Teras Jahe part 2 is the first outlet that open, but it is becoming the second outlet which designed properly. This renovation project aim to change the look with similar theme as the first one, but in lower cost, and make it wider because of the limited space. Still in modern ethnic theme, but added some rustic accent to make some differences than the first one. And to make it on budget, keeping any existing element will help. In order to make wider look illusion, colors arrange and glass material can enlarge the area.

First Floor

Consistent with open kitchen concept, the first-floor used full as kitchen and preparation area without any seating area. A small area at the back used as toilet and mushalla. The side wall fully covered with wall panel that arranged in repetition consist of mirror, bamboo, and rattan in frame. While for the ceiling, all lighting paired with wood pallet that furnished with several artificial hanging plants, to bring out some rustic accent. The front display counter shows various spices that can be found in the variant menu. Classic white 30x30 tile were an existing element in this outlet, in order to make the “undesigned” part, using more those classic white tile in kitchen set area will bring out more beauty of the material itself. Keeping the use of pattern tile, batik pattern called “Parang” and “Kawung” chosen to match the whole color palette and look.

Second Floor

While the second floor is a fully air-conditioned room with transparent glass look. Mirror panel placed on the side wall to enlarge the space. A few difference from the first floor, all light bulb installed with traditional bamboo rice container. The front area extend 80 cm to create some space for greeneries. So it will give the whole look some calm and shady effect. Last but not least, pale brown and sea salt green color wall paint drop away any dull look as it does not make the room feel cramped.
