a la memoria del HOLA AUNZ FILM FESTIVAL 2013. ¡Estamos felices y orgullosos del resultado de nuestra primera edición! HOLA AUNZ FILM FESTIVAL 2013 comenzó como una idea y ahora es una gran experiencia para organizadores y participantes. Gracias a los organismos auspiciantes, a los patrocinadores y a los colaboradores por todo el esfuerzo y por la ayuda que siguen brindando. Seguramente el festival cumplió con su cometido: presentar lo mejor del cine australiano y neozelandés y mostrar las maravillas de ambos países. ¡Quédense con nosotros y prepárense para las próximas ediciones!
to the memoirs of the HOLA AUNZ FILM FESTIVAL 2013. We are proud and extremely happy with our first edition which started out as a simple idea and ended up becoming a wonderful experience, not only for those involved in the organization, but also for those who participated with us. We would like to thank the organizations who helped us including our sponsors, patrons, and those who collaborated with us for your effort and continued support. We hope that the festival provided you with a glance of the best cinema from these two fascinating and wonderful countries: Australia and New Zealand. We hope that you remain with us for future editions of the festival!

ntes, durante y después del Festival, los principales medios impresos del país compartieron sus opiniones y críticas hacia el festival. Sobre todo, resaltaron la importancia de presentar a Australia y Nueva Zelandia con ojos diversos, actuales y con problemas sociales iguales a la gran parte del mundo. Además, recalcaron la importancia de dar a conocer culturas que tienen poca difusión en México. Importantes diarios nacionales como Excélsior, La Jornada y El Universal dedicaron espacios al festival. Además, la difusión en la prensa digital -como Milenio y algunos importantes blogs y revistas especializadasfue vasta y motivadora.
Hola AUNZ FILM FESTIVAL 2013: Present in printed media!

efore, during and after HOLA AUNZ FILM Festival, major printed media from the country shared their views and critiques about the festival. They highlighted the importance of showing Australia and New Zealand with different and diverse points of view with real social problems which are similar to other parts of the world. They stressed the importance of showing the Mexican public about cultures that are not often broadcasted in the media. National newspapers such as El Excélsior, La Jornada, and El Universal included articles on the festival as well as social and digital media like Milenio and blogs and magazines gave the festival vast and positive coverage.

l Festival fue también difundido a través de la radio. Esta promoción fue fundamental para la proyección del Festival. Entrevistas en Radio UNAM, Radio Ibero o Radio Trece permitieron la promoción a nivel nacional.

he festival was also covered through national radio stations which greeted us with open arms and were key to the success of the festival. Interviews were done on Radio UNAM, Radio Ibero and Radio Trece which were transmitted nationally.

En televisión el festival fue presentado por Javier Solórzano en Canal Once, Fernanda Tapia en su programa por internet, Foro TV y Canal 22.

a muestra se complementó con actividades para industriales, estudiantes y público en general. Para inaugurar, fue proyectado “The Rocket”, con la presencia de su director, Kim Mordaunt. En la residencia oficial de Australia los Embajadores de Australia y Nueva Zelanda participaron en un encuentro informal con la prensa en el que platicaron sobre temas de actualidad de ambos países como turismo, educación, economía y negocios.
“Disfrutamos mucho de la compañia y hospitalidad del Excelentisimo embajador de Australia Tim George y de la Excelentisima Embajadora de Nueva Zelandia Clare Kelly, fue una oportunidad de conocerlos de una forma mas cercana y de intercambiar puntos de vista e informacion sobre los dos paises a los cuales representan.”

he festival’s presentation was complemented with film activities for business people, students and the general public. On opening night, the film “The Rocket” premiered with its director Kim Mordaunt honoring us with his presence. At the Australian official residence, we enjoyed coffee with ambassadors from New Zealand and Australia where they participated in a casual conversation with the media as well as students and business people. Some of the topics covered were: tourism, education, economy, business and the film industry in the three participating countries.
“We enjoyed Australia’s ambassador Tim George and New Zealand’s ambassador Clare Kelly’s company and hospitality. It was an opportunity to get to know them better on a more personal level and exchange ideas and share similar points of view about their respective countries.”

In the Los Angeles ballroom. The party was in honor of the Mexican Film Industry!

Polly Watkins, directora del documental “Dr. Sarmast’s Music School” y Kim Mordaunt, director de la cinta “The Rocket” ofrecieron pláticas en la Cineteca Nacional. En el cine Tonalá se presentaron Michael Rowe, director México-Australiano y Francesca Fisher, directora Neozelandesa.

Polly Watkins, the documentary director of “Dr. Sarmast’s Music School’ and director Kim Mordaunt of “The Rocket” offered talks at the Cineteca Nacional. At Cine Tonola, Mexican-Australian director Michael Rowe and New Zealand director Francesca Fisher also presented a discussion about the films they chose, which belonged to directors with whom they shared experiences.

Ella nos mostró un Afganistan que no conocíamos antes de ver su documental ‘La “Polly Watkins is an extremely talented andescuela de Musica del Dr Saramast’” thoughtful director who showed us an Afghanistan who was unbeknownst to us until we watched her documentary ‘Dr. Saramast’s Music School.’”
