BRAND Auralís is an emerging eco-conscious clothing label, based in New York and Puerto Rico. It was founded by Auralís Herrero-Lugo at the end of 2008. Auralís Inc. takes pride in making beautifully designed, timeless pieces that are also practical and fashion forward. The production is based in New York and Puerto Rico. Auralís employs organic, sustainable, natural and recycled fabrics only. The textile processing includes low impact methods including natural hand dyeing, leaving green fabrics with a minimal environmental footprint. Every piece is made responsibly with love and care. Auralís strives to be sustainable and considerate to the planet in all the practices. Auralís’s team and collaborators are part of our family—all creative partners in this eco-venture. The brand cares love what we do and it shows through the clothes we send out to the world.

BIO While other children grew up listening to their parents’ favorite Julio Iglesias or Elvis, Auralís grew up hearing the lulling hum of her mother’s sewing machine. Her mother and grandmother, both talented seamstresses, fed Auralís heaping doses of clothing construction and fabric knowledge. She has been sketching dresses since her early days in Puerto Rico. Her roots form her unique point of view as a designer and her aesthetic evokes Caribbean memories, summer nights in the tropics mixed with her now urban environment of New York. After years in the industry designing clothes that did not help towards building a better future Auralís decided to capture her own voice setting forth on her ‘eco-venture’ creating the label, Auralís. Today, she pours her creativity into the line’s collections, facing the constant challenges in producing sustainable clothing. Auralís creates timeless pieces that incorporate contemporary silhouettes, enhancing forms and all made with the planet in mind. Auralís divides her time between New York City and Puerto Rico, the two islands that enrich and inspire her. In both islands she is an active member of the community, promoting and collaborating on projects that develop local and sustainable economies. Auralís also infuses this collaborative spirit into her fashion line and has done so working with local Puerto Rican and New York artisans and artists when creating her collections. Auralís blossomed out of the need to create eco-conscious and style-conscious pieces. It has been a labor of love and passion since the beginning. With each new collection, Auralís designs for a better future.
