BUSINESS REVIEW Please provide a brief history of the company: Smyth Companies has grown since its humble Minnesota beginnings in 1877. As one of the oldest printing companies in our state, we are proud to now be a top 10 packaging and label printer in the United States with nine locations across the nation.
Our Austin locations specialize in: • Digital and offset printing • Large format printing • Creative design, pre-press & finishing • Fulfillment and warehousing in climate controlled, secure • String tags and trussing loops
As has our entire company, our Austin, MN facilities have also grown since purchased as VanBraend Printing, Inc. in 1971. We have evolved from 1-color to 4-color offset, digital and large format printing. Our local Austin facilities specialize in producing primary labels, corporate collateral, string tags, tear pads, banners, design, fulfillment and more. Our unique hang and string tag manufacturing process is 100% in-house, enabling competitive solutions for our customers, without the costs and hassle of outsourcing. From tag and string materials, to loops and grommets, and single ply or booklet styles, our specialists are knowledgeable and ready to help.

In addition to our Austin facilities and our headquarters in St. Paul, MN, our production facilities in Minneapolis, MN; Rochester, MN; Green Bay, WI; Bedford, VA; Wilmington, MA; Egg Harbor, NJ; and Phoenix, AZ work jointly together to meet the needs of all of our customers. How many employees do you have? Smyth corporately employs more than 550 individuals, 75 between our two locations in Austin.
