Changing the n a m e t o Ro g e r & S o n s, L L C i n 2 0 0 9 – h e added a second generation to the business. His sons Joe, Dan and John joined him in providing quality and commitment t o Au s t i n – b e n e f i t i n g from Roger’s 40 plus years of experience.

Tell us a little about your business. What are your specialties? Best known in the community by our signature yellow trucks and equipment. They’re seen installing blacktop for parking lots and driveways, follow-up maintenance to protect the asphalt by seal-coating and even striping areas when Screened needed. Even in winter their equipment is around town providing snow removal for commercial customers. How many employees do you have? 8 employees
What sets you apart from other companies and why? A second generation business with long-ter m ties to the community. Providing a service backed with family pride in a day of large corporation services located elsewhere.

What are your goals for the upcoming year? Continue to grow with the community – provide a new outlet for local and visiting contractors to recycle job site materials – concrete and asphalt. Look at surrounding communities, expanding areas in blacktop and sealcoat services. Black Dirt
What are some of the new things your business is doing? What are you most proud to tell customers, and why? Fall of 2015 expanded customer service by offering crushed concrete and/or asphalt in bulk. With approval of longterm crushing permit – allows the business to help contractors with a place to dispose of their concrete salvage and to supply them with a recycled material for other jobs. What is your address? 3701 – 4th Street NW Austin, MN 55912 Any other infor mation that would be helpful to know? 2016 will start the 3rd generation of Bastyr’s to work at Roger & Sons, LLC. Jaiden Bastyr, oldest son of Joe Bastyr, joined the crew officially this year. He has been riding in equipment since he was a toddler – eventually getting old enough to run equipment himself.
