Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani
On his 51st birthday, filmmaker Karan Johar dropped first-look posters of his upcoming romantic comedy, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani.
The film was originally slated for a February 10 release, but has now been pushed to July 28. Fans got new looks at both Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh as their characters in the film, Rani and Rocky, as well as their ‘parivaar’.
Sharing new posters of Rocky, Karan wrote on Instagram, “An absolute ‘heartthrob’, who wears his own heart on his sleeve – meet Rocky!”.
The posters show a bare-chested and bronzed Ranveer delivering his most over-the-top pose, as his hair flies in the breeze.
He’s also wearing a large chain, and a gold, animal-printed shirt. The second poster shows Ranveer pulling his large sunglasses down, as he poses in a studded leather jacket.

Rani seems like a more reserved character, going by her attire. She’s wearing saris in both posters, and isn’t posing outrageously.
“A film by Karan Johar, in his 25th anniversary year,” reads the text below each of the posters. Karan made his debut with 1998’s Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, and has since become synonymous with opulent romantic dramas.
In another post, Karan wrote, “It’s Rocky & Rani’s world & you’re about to live in it! BUT stay tuned, because you’re about to meet their parivaar too!”
In an interview with PTI a couple of years ago, Karan said that the film exists in the same zone as KKHH. “I did go through phases of evolution as a filmmaker. But right during the pandemic, I felt I just needed to make a movie that made me feel like I was 25 again.
“And when I was 25, the only movie I could think of or make was Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, because it was like an accumulation of all the movies that I had grown up watching. It’s a homage to Raj Kapoor, Yash Chopra, Sooraj Barjatya,” he said.
Karan also shared four new posters for the film, which feature both Alia and Ranveer together. It looks like they’re taken from different musical sequences from the film. “It’s Rocky & Rani’s world & you’re about to live in it!
BUT stay tuned, because you’re about to meet their parivaar too!” he wrote. Some time later, he shared pictures of the ‘parivaar’ as well.
Karan introduced the Randhawas and the Chatterjees, the two families at the centre of the film. While Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Aamir Bashir, Kshitee Jog and Anjali Anan play members of Rocky’s family,
Shabana Azmi and Tota Roy Choudhury star as members of Rani’s family. “Meet the Randhawas & the Chatterjees – the two families of this ‘kahaani’!
The power of family will decide the fate of love. Come, be a part of it all & more with #RockyAurRaniKiiPremKahaani, in cinemas 28th July, 2023,” he wrote in his post.
A previously released teaser for Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani revealed first looks at not only Alia and Ranveer, but also their co-stars Jaya Bachchan and Dharmendra. The film’s title was also spelled differently back then.
The new posters, in addition to revealing the altered spelling, also reveal that the film will stream on Prime Video after its theatrical release.

Mentioning a dance style he wishes to learn, Hrithik Roshan said, “I’ve been terrible in partner work. I feel relaxed when it’s just me, but when it’s partner work, there is a certain synchronizing and coordinating; there’s beauty in that.
I have never been able to achieve that. I am very fascinated by the Ballet form. Just the long lines, the expanse and the flight of it.
Speaking with IMDb in their exclusive segment ‘On The Scene’, Hrithik revealed his process that has led to some iconic dance numbers.
“It’s always about the process. I have a favourite process. Anybody who fits in the process, we create amazing things! The process it. Be honest & work hard. Give me time to work hard. If you tell someone, I want one month to rehearse, and if it’s coming from me, they will think I’m joking. Prabhu Deva, and Farhan in Main Aisa Kyon Hoon (Lakshya), they gave me a month.
I had the opportunity in Guzaarish to train in the dance form, and it was an incredible experience. It was like a ball, and I was holding the ball and swirling.
During the take, I was not able to get three turns. You know, the pirouettes.
Finally, after two hours, we had lunch and tried again. In a single take, somehow it happened.”
