Chairman’s message Dear Investor Since the birth of IDO, our passion to make a difference has never been stronger. As a not-for-profit International Humanitarian Aid and Development Organisation we have built our reputation on trust and being able to deliver what we set out to achieve. In other words, we do (by the Will of Allah SAW) what we say we’re going to do! The concept of IDO was conceived in the last 10 days of Ramadan 2011, when 2 groups of brothers from Sydney, independently yet simultaneously made an intention to go and do something to help the people dying in Somalia with their own hands and money. This intention caused a chain reaction culmination in the groups joining together for Allah’s pleasure and within 3 weeks, we were on a plane to Somalia working closely with Islamic Relief. Since then, IDO has established a track record for implementing innovative longterm projects that are hands-on and focused towards providing development within devastated and deprived communities. We have done so through education, Leadership programs, medical centres, counselling and livelihood programs that will enable these communities to become self-sufficient and allow them to contribute once more to human society. Thus through the work of IDO, there is a unique opportunity to contribute to the eradication of deprivation and oppression throughout the world, whilst empowering our Ummah through the Orphans, and hence, to venerate our beloved Prophet Muhammed SAW, as he too was an Orphan.
In the time that I’ve been blessed to be part of this noble cause, I’ve seen the organisation grow from a few brothers taking that inaugural trip to Somalia to becoming a professional, fully systemised and driven entity where anyone can come and contribute their skills, time and expertise to benefit their Ummah! We are now currently developing a dedicated team of experienced professionals to manage the daily operations, in order to allow our Founding team to fully concentrate on our core project and to realise our long-term vision. Along with our dedication is the generous support of the community who believe and share in our cause for the ultimate reward with Allah SAW. IDO has achieved amazing things in such a short time Alhamdulillah. However, I’m aware of the massive task ahead of us in fulfilling the rights of this cause and we look forward with excitement and fervour to achieving our ultimate vision. It gives me great pleasure to apprise you on this brief about IDO and invite you, alongside your Brothers and Sisters and the businesses and organisations that support IDO in what we believe is a unique opportunity to make a difference to the future of humanity as a whole. We do not take for granted the trust that Australians and the world have in us.
VISION Our vision is a community with little impact of devastation, free from deprivation or oppression; a society with its basic needs met, where Orphans are empowered “We no longer wonder what we can do to assist, instead we focus on what we are doing” through education, full of opportunities to grow.
About IDO Our Core program is the Orphan Leadership Program, which focuses on mentoring and developing orphans by providing them with a long-term sustainable pathway from when they begin school right through to post tertiary education. The program helps children; families and communities break the cycle of poverty while providing life necessities to young orphans.
We don’t just react to the crisis of the moment, but we research, plan and implement long-term development projects that are inherently sustainable, and will enable devastated communities to get back on their feet.
We are unique in the locations we work, with our Medical Centre and Orphan Leadership Program in Aleppo and our Safe Village in Dhobley Somalia.
1) We research and analyse the crisis to understand the root cause and to realise a sustainable solution 2) We find out who is doing what and where 3) We analyse the gaps, and then see where and how we can help This can be clearly seen in the way IDO has implemented its’ Pilot Project in Somalia, through consultation with Islamic Relief and other NGO’s at these phases of the project.
We do the work ourselves- not through third parties, with our Founders working all the way through the entire project.
We follow 3 main steps when deciding to act:
01
Investment Proposal at a Glance
WHILST RELEIF AID IS NECESSARY INITALLY, IT IS NOT A SUSTAINABLE SOLUTION FOR THE HUNDREDS OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN, AND ESPECIALLY ORPHANS IN NEED OF OUR REAL SUPPORT NOW AND THROUGHOUT THE FUTURE. By supporting IDO, you are helping to achieve our great vision. We have seen that it can only be through long-term provision of infrastructure that those devastated, deprived and oppressed communities can once again thrive and thus contribute to the prosperity of humanity as a whole. These provisions include: • • • •
Orphan Leadership Program Medical Sustainability Projects Community and Welfare Projects
As we now look back on all the achievements, and analyse the lessons learned, we realise that in order to successfully navigate through to the next stage of our objectives and to fulfil our vision, we will need sustained support from our Brothers and Sisters in the community. We invite you to sponsor our organisation as a whole to raise $400,000 over the next 12 months. This will allow us to implement the next stages of our operations while being able to efficiently run and provide for our existing activities.

It is a Safe Village that caters for and is home to 100 orphans and their extended families. In Ramadan 2013, we raised $111,000 for the construction and fit out of the homes The Baytul Hajerah School for Orphans gives the Orphans their right to education whilst providing a pathway for their entire future through our Orphan Leadership Program. Drinking water well and reservoir providing the Safe Village with clean water all year round Agricultural project to grow vegetables enabling basic self-sustainability for the Orphans and greater community A bus converted into a mobile-medical unit providing both the Safe Village and surrounding areas with real-time medical assistance when they need it. $10,657.90 in Ramadan food packs during 2013.
Alhamdulillah all this would not have been accomplished without the support from our donors and IDO’s dedicated team. But we do need ongoing support so we can continue to provide for these Orphans.

MIDDLE EASTERN REGION Emergency Relief and Development Aid on the ground in Syria and its bordering countries- Turkey and Jordan has helped the Syrian Refugees that have fled their country. Syrian Projects 2012-2013 In Syria, IDO is on the ground and running. We provide assistance to the Syrian people affected by the civil war through our medical centre in Al Firdous Aleppo and our Orphan Leadership Program in Baab City and Jabal Acrad. IDO is also the only Western NGO that has a Medical Centre in Aleppo. The Medical Centre consists of: • • • • • •
4 treatment rooms specialising in services for Women and Children 1 Female and 2 Male Doctors A social Welfare and Counselling service to support traumatised women and children A Pharmacy with qualified Pharmacists to supply all needed medicine The only vaccination program for children in Aleppo and soon Jabal Acrad A qualified Nurse/Mid-wife
In addition to the Medical Centre, the IDO Orphan Leadership Program is set in the Freed city of Baab and caters for many Orphans and their extended families. Furthermore, IDO supports a bakery in Jabal Acrad, which provides bread to many villages. In 2013, the IDO “Sydney Responds” dinner sold over 1000 tickets, and over $280,000 was raised to support IDO projects including the Syrian projects to help the people in Syria and surrounding countries. $ 27,370.35 in Ramadan food packs was also raised during Ramadan 2013. However, as the situation in Syria worsens, more support is needed to continue to run the Orphan Leadership Program, Medical Centre and to provide ongoing support through food, shelter, clothing and counselling assistance to hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians.
