Prudence Flint lives and works in Melbourne. In 1989 she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts in painting at the Victorian College of the Arts and in 2008 completed her Master of Fine Art by research at Monash University. She is a current finalist in the 2015 Archibald Portrait Prize and was awarded Highly Commended in the Sunshine Coast Art Prize 2014 and the Portia Geach Memorial Award 2014. She won the Portia Geach Memorial Award in 2010 and was awarded the Doug Moran National Portrait Prize in 2004. She has been a finalist in numerous other prize shows including the Arthur Guy Memorial Painting Prize, Geelong Contemporary Art Prize, Salon des Refuses, Bayside Acquisitive Art Prize, R & M McGivern Prize, Darebin and La Trobe Acquisitive Art Prize, Gold Coast Art Prize, National Works on Paper, Adelaide Perry Prize for Drawing, Rick Amor Drawing Prize and Paul Guest Prize. Her work is held in the collections of the City of Port Phillip, Artbank, BHB Billiton, Gold Coast City Collection and the University of Wollongong, and in numerous private collections in Australia and New Zealand. Reproductions of Flint’s work have appeared in publications such as Art Monthly Australia, Australian Art Collector and ARTAND Australia. Flint is represented by Australian Galleries in Melbourne and Sydney and Bett Gallery in Hobart.
