who cites an intense focus on teamwork and customer satisfaction as what has driven his success over the past five years.
“There are three things that I can attribute our success to,” said Piernick. “First is a relentless pursuit of customer satisfaction. We will do whatever it takes to ensure the customer leaves our shop delighted with the outcome. That is evidenced by our 4.8 Google rating. Second, continuing education. All 13 of my technicians are I-CAR Gold certified and my shop meets the requirements for Maaco Diamond status. And last, we have a ‘One Team-One Goal’ philosophy, and titles don’t matter—customers do.”

Each year, Maaco recognizes its top-performing franchisees for outstanding sales growth, leadership and operational excellence.
This year, Robert and Keita Reid, owners of Maaco Mansfield, were honored with the Terry Taylor Award. The Terry Taylor Award is
presented each year to a quiet hero within the Maaco family who is involved and gives back to their community.
Robert moved to the U.S. from Jamaica when he was 17 to attend college. Passionate about cars from a very young age, he worked as a helper in an auto body shop while earning his degree in mechanical engineering.
After Robert spent 14 years in corporate America developing skills in managing manufacturing operations and driving continuous improvement, he decided to become a business owner, and opened his Maaco franchise in 2017. By his second year, Robert had nearly doubled his revenue, and the business has continued a steep growth trajectory ever since.
In 2021, Robert’s growth led him to add 7,000 square feet to his facility and 2.5 acres of land to accommodate his expanding needs. In the spirit of continuous improvement, he invested in all the equipment necessary to keep up with the latest technology, and his shop has become both I-CAR Gold certified and a member of the elite group of Maaco Diamond Certified shops.
“We create standards that we execute with discipline and rigor, and because of that we have built a reputation for quality work and customer satisfaction that has helped fuel our growth,” said Robert Reid. “Referrals and repeat customers have been instrumental to our growth.
“The Maaco business model is robust, and the current market climate is working in our favor, resulting in added growth opportunities,” he continued. “The shortage of new and used vehicles means that more vehicle owners will invest in maintaining their current vehicles. We have seen this even with fleets, whether car dealers, rental car companies or local fleets.”
Robert Reid said each year they strive to improve and to increase their sales volume, and they are still working toward their full potential.
Maaco is always looking for people who strive for excellence and want to put their management skills to work as independent business owners. For more information, visit www.maacofranchise.com or contact the team at Franchise@maaco. com to learn more about franchisee opportunities.
