Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) produces quality vehicles which last many years. A great example is the L300 platform that has been seen on Philippine roads for four decades. This shows how proudly Philippine made vehicles and parts stand the test of time. The Mirage hatch and G4 sedan are relatively new products on our roads, but has already amassed a good following.

Right before launch of the 2022 Mitsubishi Mirage G4, we got dibs and took it for a spin around the Mitsubishi plant in Sta. Rosa Laguna.

EXTERIOR STYLING

This subcompact sedan looks really good for “only” a model refresh. Mitsubishi updated the Mirage G4 with the Dynamic Shield concept which gives it a completely new look. It’s got a new fascia, which gives it a sharper and sportier look with a new front bumper, headlight and grille combo, plus a new rear bumper design. The alloy rims are also a new design, wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza S001’s which not only gives a sportier look but better control as well.

IMPRESSIONS

It was a nice surprise how much better this new Mirage drove with its new set of sportier Bridgestone tires. The ride was smooth and gave it a balanced feel, giving you added confidence that that comes with better grip on the road.

It’s interior space accommodates more than just the average Filipino, I stand 6’4” and the New Mirage is one of the roomier in its class, as I comfortably fit in both the front and rear seats. Overall, We feel, this New Mirage G4 is a solid choice for car buyers. It’s not too different from the Mirage that won the 2012-2013 Philippine Car of the Year to prove it’s worh.
