1. FUNCTIONS BMW E65 CAS km reset BMW E38/E39/E46/E53 LCM km reset BMW E38/E39/E46/E53 EWS km reset BMW KEY km reset (will update later) M35080 programmer (edit, erase, read, write) 2. HARDWARE
Red-Button is used to reset E65 CAS km. Yellow-Button is used to reset E38/E39/E46/E53 LCM and EWS km. Led-Indicators are used to indicate the operating state, while the red led indicate ‘power on’, the green led indicate ‘busy’ and ‘success’, and the yellow led indicate ‘error’. DB9-Male is used to connect the tool to the diagnosis socket of the car. Usb-Port is used to connect the tool to the computer for updating and M35080 progamming. Power-Connector is used to supply 12V-DC to the tool. Adapter-Connector is used to connect the tool to M35080-Adapter. M35080-Adapter is used for the programming of M35080 chip, both in-circuit programming and ic-socket programming are supported. 3. CAS LCM EWS KM RESET CAS km reset : disconnect the dashboard from the car, connect the tool to the car’s diagnosis socket, and turn on the key, (you will see the red led light up), push the red button, the green led begin to flash, and for a while the green led stop flashing and remain lighting up, this means the CAS km has been reset successfully. ( if the green led stop flashing but the yellow led lights up, this mean the communication between the tool and the car failed, check the connection and repeat the above procedure.)

LCM km reset : connect the tool to the car’s diagnosis socket, and turn on the key, (you will see the red led light up), push the yellow button, the green led begin to flash, and for a while the green led stop flashing and remain lighting up, this means the LCM km has been reset successfully. ( if the green led stop flashing but the yellow led lights up, this mean the communication between the tool and the car failed, check the connection and repeat the above procedure.) EWS km reset : connect the tool and the EWS unit as the picture shows , and connect the
12V regulator to the Power-Connector, (you will see the red led light up), push the yellow button, the green led begin to flash, and for a while the green led stop flashing and remain lighting up, this means the LCM km has been reset successfully. ( if the green led stop flashing but the yellow led lights up, this mean the communication between the tool and the EWS unit failed, check the connection and repeat the above procedure.) 4. M35080 PROGRAMMING Software Setup OS Windows ( Win98, Win2000, WinXP) M35080 software Software tool Installing the M35080 software To install the M35080 software, follow these steps: 1) Insert CD into your CD-ROM drive (or download the M35080 software from http://www.smelecom.com/sm/BMWRESETER.htm ) 2) Close all running application 3) Follow prompts to install software to your hard drive 4) Restart your PC when installation completed (optimal) M35080 Programmer Double click the M35080 programmer icon, you can see the main window of the M35080 programmer, click the ‘programmer’ button to enter the programmer window, click icon to establish a new file or click icon to open an old file, then you can edit the file, read data from M35080 chip, write data to M35080, or erase data of M35080 chip, remember that before reading, writing or erasing data options, you have to soler the M35080 chip on the adapter, or solder contact wires of the adapter to the target dashboard.

Odometer Adjustment After you have reset the km of CAS/LCM/EWS, you can adjust the km of the odometer, click the ‘Odometer’ button, you can see the vehicle list window, double click the car you want to adjust, you come to the help window, according to the help words and picture solder contact wires to the dashboard or unsolder the chip and solder it on the adapter, then click ‘OK’, the adjustment window appears, while the ‘Backup’ button is used to back up the chip data, the ‘Recovery’ button to write the backup data to the chip, ‘Current KM’ button to read the current km, ‘New KM’ button to write the New km to the chip.
