The driver of a car, F1 driver or a normal person driving their car all want their vehicle to provide maximum safety. Modern vehicles are equipped with sophisticated safety systems that protect the driver and passengers: ABS, ESP, airbags and lateral rollbars are staples, but very few people imagine that an accessory such as a wheel rim, apparently associated with the vehicle's aesthetics, is in truth one of the elements that deeply influence the safety of the vehicle. A light alloy wheel, thanks to the resistance to impacts of the alloys, has a low deformation and ovalisation coefficient: this guarantees better tyre adhesion to the rim an, therefore, less likelihood that it will detach or that air leaks shall occur, which

are the factors that might seriously compromise driving, especially in curves or at high speeds. An alloy wheel is lighter and more resistant to sudden temperature changes: these characteristics translate into a smaller angular momentum and, therefore, into a reduction of braking spaces and better dissipation of the temperature of discs and clamps. Braking is therefore precise, effective, soft, while the parts that are subject to friction suffer less wear. A light alloy wheel determines an increase in the hanging mass/mass on table ratio. A vehicle's hanging mass comprises the parts of the vehicle supported by the shock absorbers: cockpit, chassis, engine block. Mass on table includes the parts

of a vehicle in contact with the floor: tyres, rims, braking system, part of the axle shaft and part of the suspensions. Shock absorbers are the lynch pin of the two masses and the part of the car that is constantly under stress during operation: their compression and elongation movements guarantee that the unevenness of the road be absorbed and, therefore, the stability of the hanging mass. The better the work of the suspensions, the better the comfort and adhesion of the car. The reduction of the mass on the table has a determinant influence on the good operation of the suspensions, as less effort is required to bring the wheel back into a "neutral" position. It is clear that an alloy wheel, made of a lighter material, contributes

to a better definition of the vehicle's stability and to a better dynamic control, and therefore better road holding. Light alloy wheels make for comfortable driving, keep the vehicle on course and and make it easier to avoid obstacles or sudden deviations. Indeed, they contribute to the car's overall safety. WARNING: LIGHT, BUT STRONG! The weight of the rim must be proportional to its resistance in structural terms. Otherwise - all things being equal - it would be possible to obtain very low weights, but insignificant resistance characteristics, and thus unsafe products for the consumers. In particular, the following performance index is necessary in order to calculate the actual performance of a rim:

There are different systems to guarantee the quality of the products used in the after market. If you equate quality with safety, the TÜV type-approvals represent one of the highest guarantees for the products mounted on your car. The outer rim, obtained by sheet turning, has high mechanical characteristics and can have extremely reduced thickness, thus reducing the weight of the wheel considerably. In this way a better weight/resistance ratio is obtained, as against traditional channels. The outer channel, moreover, has a ribbed rim that makes for higher rigidity and resistance to ovalisation and impact. The inner casted rim aluminium channel, T6 treated, confers excellent mechanical characteristics. The aluminium valve is lightweight and reduces the wheel's balancing problems. In the event of damages, it is possible to substitute the individual parts, rather than the whole rim. The substitution must be carried out by O路Z authorised operators.

Three pieces wheels guarantee maximum customisation, expressed through the possibility of choosing the size of the flange, the camber, the width of the channel and the depth of the rim. The technologies and materials used for the manufacturing of modular wheels allow vehicles to reach the highest performance standards, associated however to maximum safety on the road.
