Discover Rhode Island held our "Wedding Photo of the Year" contest, which was for wedding photographs taken in Rhode Island in 2021. The contest was held on Instagram which is a great place for photo sharing. Of all the entries we received, these were chosen as the top ten finalists (in alphabetical order):

I’m honored to have received the wedding photo of the year award. Thank you to Discover Rhode Island for organizing this contest and considering me a top ten finalist. Thank you to all of my friends and family who voted for me.

I want to congratulate my fellow photographer nominees- David Andrew, Sail Away, Tati Simpson, Logan Pratt, Penny Souza, Tracy Jenkins, Gloria Greenfield, Alex Gordias, and Sabrina Scolari for all your hard work, creativity, passion, and dedication you put into your weddings and sessions. It was an honor to be alongside you all during this contest. You all are amazingly talented. We had the busiest wedding season to date and we should all be proud of what we accomplished last year.

I’ve always had an interest in the arts. My love for photography grew while taking classes in college. I started photographing my niece and nephew as a series and I fell in love with the progression of work that was created. After college, I accepted a full time position at Rhode Island Novelty as a layout designer and product photographer. I continued this position for ten years. I left in 2019 to start my own business, to pursue photographing portraits and weddings. It was one of the scariest decisions I ever made, but I knew in my gut that I needed this change in order to grow and fulfill my dreams.

Devine Reith Photography is named after two very important people. They have educated, encouraged, believed, and supported me with compassion. My company is named after my parents. Thank you to my mum and dad for all that they do and continue to do. Thank you to my nieces and nephews for always inspiring me and pushing me to do better. A special thank you to my mum who always encouraged me to, "Go outside and play."

My husband Ricky and our two daughters Ellie and Frannie support me fully. They are the inspiration and driving force behind what I do. If you work hard, anything is possible. “As soon as you begin to pursue a dream, your life wakes up and everything has meaning.”

My name is Katie Pearson and I'm a wife, mom, and on location photographer based in RI. My purpose is to capture love, relationships, milestones, and everyday moments. My style is colorful, playful, and overall meaningful. My sessions are laid back, fun, and taken all outdoors. I’m inspired by nature, color, and natural elements. RI is the perfect state to explore and create magical moments with its breathtaking beaches, parks, and cityscape backdrops.
