Cheers to Jose Lebron’s 100th Birthday!

If you’ve ever visited Encore at Avalon Park Assisted Living and Memory Care Community, chances are you have met the beloved “mayor” of Encore, Jose Lebron. Jose’s warm smile and friendly demeanor have made him a fixture in the front lobby, where he greets families and guests as they come and go through the front doors.

“When I think about Encore, I first always think about Jose,” says Beat Kahli, President and CEO of Avalon Park Group and Encore at Avalon Park. “Every time I am there, I make sure I can see Jose. I love to speak to him, his amazing life, dedication to the Lord, his beloved late wife, his amazing children, and his outstanding career in the military. He is the best Ambassador any company could dream of, he truly represents all residents and the owners’ best interest in Encore, he is my true Cocaptain at Encore! Jose, I love you!”

This Friday afternoon, March 1st, at 2:00 p.m., Jose will be celebrating a momentous occasion: his 100th birthday. Joining him for this special milestone will be his family, friends, fellow residents, and the dedicated teams at Encore and Avalon Park Group.

Originally hailing from Puerto Rico, Jose had a distinguished career in the military, rising to the rank of lieutenant colonel in the Army. During his service, he collaborated closely with the Department of Health in Puerto Rico. Jose shared 55 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Hortensia “Ten,” and is a proud father of three sons, who frequently visit him.

After 30 years of dedicated public service, Jose and his wife relocated to Florida from Puerto Rico to be closer to their family. Settling into Encore on February 1, 2015, Jose became one of the community’s inaugural residents, moving in shortly after its opening. Today, he holds the esteemed title of being the longest-tenured resident at Encore, proudly calling it home for over nine years.
