Teamwork Makes the Dream Work

Around this time of year I typically like to provide a snapshot of the community over the past year.  Thus far, 2023 has been a busy and, literally groundbreaking, year for Avalon Park Wesley Chapel. Our mission remains to change the way people live, learn, work, and play. As we reflect on the progress at Avalon Park Wesley Chapel in 2023, here's an overview of our achievements in each of these areas and what exciting developments lie ahead:

 Live:

Our commitment to offering a diverse range of housing options, including townhomes and single-family homes, has reached approximately 75% completion. Notably, we've embarked on an exciting new journey with the groundbreaking of Downtown Avalon Park Wesley Chapel, introducing additional housing choices such as apartments and homes for seniors and families. Construction is currently underway for Mosby Avalon Park with Middleburg Communities, a highly anticipated 338-unit traditional apartment community, bringing even more housing options to our community. Moreover, The Flats apartments are set to begin leasing in the spring of 2024, further enhancing our housing offerings and expanding opportunities for residents to call Avalon Park Wesley Chapel home.

 Learn:

The Avalon Park area is proud to host exceptional schools, including the nationally acclaimed New River Elementary School, Thomas E. Weightman Middle School, and Wesley Chapel High School. In 2019, we also introduced Pinecrest Academy Wesley Chapel charter school, which currently serves as a K-9. The school is experiencing remarkable growth, with the second phase of construction now complete, adding 600 student stations to accommodate 6th-8th graders. As of the 2023-2024 school year, Pinecrest has a capacity of 1400 K-8 students and 200 high school students. Looking ahead to the 2024-2025 school year, the high school, which is currently in the design phase, is expected to have a capacity of 600 students upon completion, providing even more educational opportunities withing the community.

 Work:

With the recent groundbreaking of Downtown Avalon Park Wesley Chapel, we're eager to foster a thriving business environment within our live, learn, work, and play community. The Downtown I building is currently under construction, and excitingly, several businesses have already signed leases to become a part of this dynamic hub. Among them are Prime Barbershop, Rita's Italian Ice, ISI Elite Training, and Rudraksh Indian Cuisine. These diverse establishments offer a range of services and culinary experiences, further enhancing the convenience and vibrancy of Avalon Park Wesley Chapel.

 Play:

While we have made significant strides in enhancing recreational options, there's room for more. We are working towards introducing a park and gym, along with additional football, baseball, and soccer fields. However, it's important to note that we have already achieved remarkable accomplishments in the realm of leisure and community engagement:

For the past decade and more, we've hosted some of the finest community events in central Florida, featuring world-class fireworks and family-friendly activities that bring neighbors together. As we look forward to the upcoming fall season, we invite residents and visitors to partake in the exciting events scheduled, including Movie Under the Stars, Jazz Under the Starz, Spooktacular, Holiday Hayrides, and Avalon Aglow.

Our social and multi-cultural groups, including Coffee Speaks ‘N Tea Talks, the Wesley Chapel Theater Group, the Pasco Fine Arts Council, and many more, have fostered a deep sense of belonging within our community.

At its core, Avalon Park's philosophy has always been that everyone belongs here. Over the past two decades, we've remained steadfast in realizing this vision by reshaping the way people live, learn, work, and play. Whether you're here to live, learn, work, play, or all of the above, we want you to know that You Belong in Avalon Park. Our commitment to this ideal remains unwavering for the next 25 years and beyond.
