ENGLISHLANGUAGE & LITERATURE ENGLISHLANGUAGE LITERATURE
The English language and Literature department believes in making the love for language and literature come alive in Zhenghua. Our lower secondary students enjoy a Readers’ Theatre programme and a drama workshop which trains them in skills like articulation and critical thinking. The upper secondary students go through a debates workshop that enables them to formulate arguments and speak confidently and coherently in front of an audience. In addition, our students enjoyed the varied activities organised during our annual English and Literature week.
Externally, students are provided various platforms to immerse in a rich-language environment. Students participated in the ‘Write for Kindness Competition’ and watched an interactive forum theatre performance of Haresh Sharma’s Don’t Know, Don’t Care. Students were also heavily involved in the NSLF this year as well as the 16th Inter-School Philosophy Dialogue. These platforms gave our students the opportunity to explore the subjects in varied ways, building up a better understanding of English and Literature.
