AI CARING TEACHER AWARD

The following teachers have received the most votes by the staff and students of AI for their strong passion and genuine care demonstrated in all their duties. They truly exemplified the teachers’ vision to Lead, Care and Inspire. The AI Caring Teacher Awardees 2018 are:

OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION AWARD (INDIVIDUAL)

The Outstanding Contribution Awards are given to staff whose contributions individually or in teams have significant impact on the school.

Mr Poon Quan Feng James believes that all students have the potential to be better individuals. He actively reaches out to the students and engages them positively. He also shows drive and passion in creating and running the After-School Engagement programme. He puts in lots of commitment, time and effort to ensure the sustainability of the programme by empowering student leaders to design activities for other students.

Mdm Francesca Gomez is a very involved Assistant Year Head for the Form Teachers under her charge. She puts in effort to know the cohort’s students well so as to render support to the teachers. On top of that, she is also committed in creating sustainable school environmental programmes which has resulted in AI obtaining the Lotus award for the School Green Awards 2017.

Mdm Juny Iskawati Binte Mohd Jaffar is a lady who finds deep meaning and purpose when carrying out her committee work. She led the Staff Engagement Committee in planning activities that care for the staff’s welfare which made AI a happier workplace. She is also a role model to many young educators as she guides them to become better form teachers.

OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION AWARD (TEAM)

THE AESPIRE COMMITTEE

The AESPIRE Committee brought back the excitement of students and teachers performing in front of an audience and thus has shaped the school’s aesthetics culture into a vibrant and positive one. Students were encouraged to showcase their talents and in turn deepen their interest for the Arts.

Led by Ms Ng Sheh Feng, the team includes Mr Wong Yong Ping Tommy, Ms Lee Jia Ling and Mr Shawn Neo Pin Han.

The Timetabling Committee

This award is given to the Timetabling Committee for their resourcefulness and innovative spirit in resolving difficult system constraints to produce good timetables for teaching and learning. They often have to work with very tight deadlines and very challenging requests, but these have not stopped them from pursuing their work with poise and composure, never failing to produce the best possible solutions to the demands of the various stakeholders.

Led by Mdm Azlin Bte Abdul Majid, the team includes Ms Lea Shu Hui, Mr Teo Soon Hock, Mdm Chew Jia Zhen Geraldine, Mr R Azmann

A Rahman and Mr Yap Kim Hon.

Staff Engagement Committee

The Staff Engagement Committee consistently provides for AI staff well-being through various gestures that impact all. From daily routines such as stocking up of the pantry supplies, to planning and executing celebrations such as Teachers’ Day lunch, they have brought about much energy and positivity to the staff. They have indeed helped to make AI a happier workplace.

The team consists of Mdm Juny Iskawati Binte Mohd Jaffar, Mr Zhang Xinwen, Mdm Chiau Woon Chin, Mdm Kamisah Bte Kassim, Mr Muhammad Na’im Bin Sa’dollah, Mdm Ng Wai Cheng Deborah, Mdm Nirmala d/o K Periyiah, Mdm Wang Weixin Elvina, Mr Tan Hong Chan and Ms S. Hemalatha.
