We believe in the importance of building on the foundation of the English language through nurturing confident, competent, and fluent users of the English language.

Through exposing our students to a variety of contexts of how the language is used and platforms for discussions, we aim to grow our students to appreciate the beauty of the language while at the same time be critical thinkers who can convey their opinions with heart and soul.

Through the provision of a rich curriculum and authentic learning experiences, the Mother Tongue Languages (MTL) Department is committed in developing our students into youths who are confident in communicating and expressing themselves in their MTLs. Cultural values and knowledge are two other important components of language learning. The Chinese, Malay and Tamil Units teach the respective MTLs as practical and living languages, imparting values and developing the students’ cultural identities at the same time. We believe in nurturing a bilingual identity in our students, and strive to inspire in them a love for their Mother Tongue languages.
