Aesthetics Department
This year has been a very rewarding year for the Aesthetics department despite having to overcome with many challenges and adjustments due to the pandemic. Through the many platforms, students were able to showcase their talents in many areas.
Assumption Pathway School and other schools were invited to participate in Project Joy. The aim of this exhibition was to show appreciation to our healthcare workers. Four of our students participated in the exhibition and their artwork is permanently showcased at Bukit Panjang Polyclinic.
APS organised its first teachers’ art exhibition titled ‘Visual Voice’ at Kamal Arts Gallery. The exhibition is made up of works from art teachers from the Montfortian Gabrielite Education Institutions (MGEI). The exhibition featured more than 30 artworks which include paintings, photography and installation art. The objective was to encourage teachers to continue to pursue their passion in art.
The Museum-Based Learning Journey gave our students the opportunity to experience art in an authentic learning environment- the National Gallery Singapore. This allowed our students to have engaging learning experiences through art appreciation.
We were able to host APS Got Talent in-person for the first time since the pandemic. This year, five participants had the opportunity to showcase their talents on stage. All finalists had done their best to entertain the audience and captivate the judges.
The Singapore Youth Festival also celebrated its first on-site art exhibition at the National Museum of Singapore. One of our students, Calistal Lee You Xin of 2C2 had her artwork showcased for this exhibition.
