Industry Experiential Programme (IEP)
We were very happy the Year 3 and Year 4 students were able to complete their 2-week Industry Experiential Programme (IEP) which were completed in November and May respectively.
Before the commencement of IEP, a trip was organised for the students to visit the organisations that they would be attached to. This gave students the opportunity to familiarise themselves to their working environment for their IEP. During the site visit, students were introduced to their immediate supervisors where they were briefed on the working expectations such as the daily reporting time, the number of working hours, the job duties and responsibilities.
This year is also our first time sending SEN students out for their IEP. They were mainly attached to Commonwealth Capital and HANs. Even though students mentioned that they felt very tired, this arrangement worked out very well with our partners. We were very happy that our students were able to be attached to external partners this year and were able to gain experience in the workplace.
The students were also glad to be attached to these companies as it had given them more exposure to an authentic working life. The students were grateful for the invaluable experiences learnt and wonderful memories created. We are also grateful to our partners for their continued support in believing in our APS students.
