Key Biscayne
José Sevilla Impressionist Oil Size: 16 by 20 inches This landscape was painted in 2001. That year José was happy to spend the summer time on the island visiting his daughter, son in law and beloved granddaughter who was 12 years old by then. The weather was too hot but it did not prevent him from painting outside. Some days he complained about mosquitoes’ bites but, in spite of that, he preferred catching the light of that moment. He painted what and when he felt like doing it. Whenever he had to paint by request… he tried not to accept. He said he was not a machine and it was a must to be inspired. The colors he used showed his happy and fresh personality. It is remarkable to observe that the colors he mixed are very different from the ones he used to paint other seas.
