AVE22 MetaGallery is pleased and proud to announce The WAY Exhibition

We are so much overwhelmed with daily routine, with today’s agenda, with actions that require immediate action, that it becomes hard to step back (or rather fly up high) and look at our life from a more global prospective.

What way are we pursuing? Why have we chosen it? Where are we going to? What do we expect to see on our way?

Even if these questions are just asked, this might help us find a way towards a more harmonious life. Whether we are moving on towards a certain goal or just enjoying the walk, we are going on a way from the past into the future.

The exhibition artists ponder on this subject - a way from the past into the future. A way from the bad to good (or otherwise).

A way that makes us change, that makes the world around us change, that evolves, that inspires.

But true love should come from people and give to people. The gate of heaven is a narrow gate, and it has always been believed that only single people can squeeze in. Now I understand that this door cannot be squeezed in by one person, but two people can squeeze in instead. One can't get in, and the two squeeze in is the gate of heaven.

Old things are something in the past, they stand for the icon at that time but lose their status along with time.

There’s an old building in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK which was built in the 1970s; it was one of the most advanced and posh business buildings in the town. However, because it’s getting too old for renovation, it lost its business value, and the local council decided to demolish it and turn it into a fancy food court, where young people like to hang out or date.

As a a result, long-term art studios based there, were forced to pack up shop and leave.

Without subsidies and government support, these artists were on their way to an uncertain future.

This is a way to bring someone economic benefits - but not the artists.

In 2017, I took this picture, when the change had just begun, but by the next year, the cold and industriallooking food court had started its busy days.

Just like Metaverse which invites involvement, this artwork is a hybrid of digital science and visual arts. It invites involvements of the audience by immersing them into listening to a radio station, the way of the past perhaps, but in a new way using QR technology. What's more, it engages the audience using Augmented Reality, which introduces a new paradigm in which visual arts could be appreciated outside the boundary of the original piece. (You could see the colours on the girl's t-shirt changes through your phone).

Yes, we were less mobile with stationary analog musical players then. But that also made us more focus and enjoyed the music the way we deserved. This artwork "invites" you to listen to “The Way We Were” by Barbra Streisand and Lionel Richie, on your mobile phone, using QR technology. How ironic but also proves that mankind evolves.

I started with painting a background thinking I knew I was going to do then the more time I’ve put into the artwork I completely covered the background and started all over. I felt as I tapped into a different headspace when it became to this piece. Rather than staying in the present moment I put in my mind that the artwork was blank and new. So each new stroke that I did on the canvas it felt as I’m changed the direction of the old vision.

For this artwork I had a vision in mind with my color pencils but once I started applying acrylic to the canvas my vision changed. I started to hate what I was creating so I got into this music rage where I just put many songs with a lot of bass and it turnt me up where all i can do is feel what I was feeling and dance it out. I let that go and what come out was just a mess, within that mess I wanted you to see that I can see you thru that. I added eyes in this so you know that no matter where you’re going I will be observing you.

Inevitável (Inevitable) is the need and scope to get out of the hole that the rush of daily life puts us. Faced with so much demand, the isolation hole is very inviting for a calmer breath and a moment of peace. However, when you stay in that hole too long, it's hard to get out because you've become accustomed to the calm and need wings and courage to return to reality and take higher flights.

The past century went down in history as the age of violent totalitarian ideologies, that claimed millions of lives and turned many others into executioners. In the 21st century the new dictators adopted old forgotten ideologies of the dark ages. Installing in the mind of people the sacred idols legitimized their power. And in order to promote those idols they cleverly utilized the tools of the modern media, the intolerant priests and the cadres of pseudo-philosophers. Yet their propaganda is strong only in its loudness. Knowing its primitive and well-hidden mechanism of manipulation, we can resist and destroy their idols. And remain ourselves, free and happy, as we see it, providing a way from the past into the future. A way that makes us change, that makes the world around us change, that evolves, that inspires.

2022 is the year of women's protests. In Iran, Mahsa Amini was stoned to death, after which riots began in the country against the state system. At least 200 protesters were killed as a result of government resistance. In solidarity and protest Iranian rock climber Elnaz Rekabi performed at the World Championships without the obligatory hijab. On December 4, in was promised that the Vice Police in Iran will be abolished.

In Russia, men fled the military mobilization, and women became the protagonists of the anti-war resistance, Association of Russian feminists, launched in February 2022, coordinated protests in 96 Russian cities. Alexandra Skolichenko, who laid out anti-war price tags in the shops of Nizhny Novgorod, faces 10 years in prison.

In the armed forces of Ukraine, 15% of military personnel are women, and if we take into account all those involved in the military sphere, then they will be 25%.

Women are fighting for the rights and freedoms that were limited as a result of the actions of men. And the word “femininity” takes on new meanings in this new world.
