Das Vienna International Center unter dem Namen Uno City bekannt, wurde 1979 vom Architekten Johann Staber errichtet. Es ist der Amtssitz für die Vereinten Nationen in Wien. Die Gebäude haben eine Ypsilon Form. Der Grund und Boden auf dem die Uno City steht, gehört nicht zum Österreichischen Staatsgebiet. Am Haupteingang zur Uno City gibt es ein Besucherzentrum, mit der Möglichkeit Führungen zu buchen. Die wichtigsten Aufgaben der Organisation sind die Sicherung des Weltfriedens, die Einhaltung des Völkerrechts, der Schutz der Menschenrechte und die Förderung der internationalen Zusammenarbeit. Das daneben liegende Austria Center Vienna wurde 1987 ebenfalls nach Plänen von Johann Stber gebaut und ist Konferenzzentrum und Ausstellungsgebäude. Vienna International Center also known as Uno City was designed by Johann Staber in 1979 and serves as U.N. headquarter in Vienna. The buildings have the shape of the letter y and aren’t part of Austrias national territory. There’s a visitors centre at the main entrance, where guided tours can be booked. The main duties of the organisation are maintaining peace, compliance with international law and human rights worldwide, as well as the promotion of international cooperation. In 1987 Austria Centre Vienna was built right next o it based on Stabers plans too, which serves as convention center and exhibition building.
Dort entsteht eine Stadt in der Stadt, die Donaucity oder auch Vienna DC genannt. Der Spaziergang beginnt im Donaupark beim Donauturm und f端hrt zur端ck zur Uno City. There rises a town in the town, called Danube City or Vienna DC. The walk starts at Danube Park by the Danube Tower and leads to Uno City.
Im Donaupark befindet sich der Donauturm, mit einem Restaurant und im Sommer mit der Möglichkeit Bungee Springen zu machen. Durch den Park führt eine Liliputbahn mit einer Streckenlänge vom 3 km und insgesamt drei Stationen: Donauturm, Rosarium und Uno City. Weiters gibt es ein Tiergehege, ein Vogel- und Bienenhaus und viele Spielplätze, Tischtennis, Tennis, Bodenschach, Minigolf und Fußballplätze und -wiesen. Beim Rosarium sind urviele riechen so gut Rosen angepflanzt und bei der Donaucity gibt es eine Ecke, da darf alles wild wachsen. Dort gibt es auch ein kleines Biotop. Beim Sparefrohspielplatz liegt der Irissee da schwimmen Karpfen drin, fast so groß wie Thunfische.
Inside Danube Park stand the Dabube Tower, with a restaurant in the sky and the option of bungee jumping in summer. There is also a Izzipizzitrain with a length of 3 km and with tree stations, named Danube Tower, Rosarium and Uno City. In the park there also is an animal housing, a bird and bee house, as well as a lot of playgrounds, tennis fields, table-tennis tables, giant ground chess spots, mini-golf courses, football fields and meadows. Many lovely smelling roses are planted around the Rosarium and close to Danube City theres a secluded spot where nature can grow as intended. Next to Sparefrohs playground is Lake Iris which contains carp almost as bis as tuna.
Die Entstehung der Donaucity geht auf eine Volksbefragung zurück. Wien und Budapest wollten sich gemeinsam um die Ausrichtung der EXPO 1995 bewerben, die unter dem Motte, Brücken verbinden, stehen sollte. Zu dieser Zeit, 1991, gab es auch eine Volksbefragung zum Kraftwerk Freudenau. Das Kraftwerk Freudenau wurde befürwortet, die EXPO abgelehnt. Nun ja und ich versuche jetzt die Donaucity und das Umfeld zu zeichnen, zumal sich ein Wahrzeichen Wiens, der Donauturm gleich ums Eck davon befindet. Die Grössenverhältnisse der Gebäude möchte ich genau darstellen. Mh, mit künstlerischer Freiheit, aber ganz sicher mit Freude. The development of the Danube City started with a referendum. Vienna and Budapest together applied for the event EXPO 1995 with the slogan “Bridges connect”. Roughly at that time, 1991, there was a referendum for a waterpower plant in Freudenau. The plant was favoured, whilst the event EXPO was declined. Well, I want to draw Danube City and the surroundings, particularly as Danube Tower, one of Vienna’s landmarks is just around the corner. I’d like to illustrate the proportions of the buildings as exact as possible. Mh, in an artistic way, but surley with pleasure. Stadt in der Stadt und doch wie am Land, umgeben von Wasser, fast wie eine Insel. High Tech und viel Wildlife, Highlife auch. Ein Flecken der recht international und multikulturell ist. Beim Zeichnen meiner Geburtsstadt ist diese kleine Liebeserkl채rung an Wien entstanden. Wien geht mit der Zeit und hat einen Sinn f체r Traditionen. Wien eine Stadt ist die ich mag, eigentlich klar, weil ich bin ja Ureinwohner. Town in the City Urban as well as rural, it is surrounded by water, almost like an island, with high tech, lots of wildlife and highlife too. All in all it is a multicultural and international spot. Whilst drawing my native town this declaration of love to it sprung up. Traditional as well as modern, Vienna is a city I naturally like as a native citizen.
