Axis Townhomes is a modern residential development in Atlanta’s Edgewood neighborhood, designed to balance urban density with a sense of openess while integrating into the surrounding neighborhood vernacular. These townhomes feature clean, modern lines, expansive glazing, and strategic massing to maximize natural light while respecting the scale of the surrounding neigborhoods. Located along the Dekalb corridor, this project enhances the area’s architectural character while providing a refined, livable environment in a rapidly evolving urban landscape.

WHITE WOLF PUBLISHING

Commercial Office - Proposal | Stone Mountain, GA Pimsler-Hoss Architects

White Wolf Publishing is company dedicated to the art of storytelling via the development of role playing video games, card and board games, and printed fiction. This proposal aimed to create an industrial loft-like workspace that fosters creativity and collaboration. The 19,000 sq. ft. design features flexible work pods for all current employees that can be adapted to the evolving needs of the company. At the heart of the design is the “hearth” - made of translucent panels of varying shades - serving as the creative nucleus of the workspace, evoking a cinematic, sci-fi aesthetic while cultivating the dynamic exchange of ideas among the artists and

The client sought a design that balanced sleek modernism with warmth and innovation. Cantilevered volumes and an open floor plan define the home’s modern feel, and site-chiseled crab orchard stone, tigerwood siding, and hard coat stucco add texture and depth. Sustainable features include renewable hardwood floors and denim insulation for superior energy efficency and soundproofing. An engineered grid driveway and an endless pool complete the design, blending luxury and function.

THE JANE

Mixed-Use Redevelopment | Atlanta, GA

Pimsler-Hoss Architects

Named after the putter of golf legend Bobby Jones, The Jane is a mixed-use redevelopment that contributes to the revitalization of the Memorial Drive corridor in Grant Park. Once an elevator factory, this 33,000 sf site has been transformed into a dynamic hub of offices, restaurants, retail, and bi-level lofts. The design blends historic preservation with adaptive reuse, retaining the original high ceilings, expansive windows, skylights, and deep bay depths to maximize natural light. Period-specific detailing ensures harmony with surrounding urban fabric, and modern efficiencies create a vibrant, community focused space.

This 27,000 sf second floor interior build-out was designed to support Unilever’s research, collaboration, and consumer engagement. The space includes a welcome area, brand history wall, retail simulation room, customer knowledge center, auditorium, brainstorm/meeting rooms, virtual lab, and focus group observation areas. Demonstration kitchens and bathrooms provide hands-on testing environments, while the vitality garden offers a space for reflection and interaction. The design balances functionality with brand storytelling, creating an efficient and engaging workspace.

A single, large window offers a visual contrast, allowing light to cut through the concrete enclosure, yet rather than providing true relief, it serves as a reminder of the Capitol’s dominance, offering a view of a world she cannot escape.

THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE

Katniss’ 12th Floor Bedroom & Light Sculptures for the Capitol Party | Lionsgate Films PD: Phil Messina Set Designer: Sheila Nash

Katniss Everdeen’s 12th floor bedroom is a striking example of how architecture can be used as a storytelling device. The Brutalist style architecture creates a space that feels more like a prison than a place of rest, reinforcing her isolation and lack of control. While architecture is often designed to foster comfort and freedom, this set intentionally does the opposite-using materiality and scale to evoke oppression and entrapment.

VRT. SECT. - LARGE PARTY LIGHT

The towering light sculptures at the Capitol party serve as both opulant spectacle and a symbol of excess. Their grand scale and ethereal glow create an atmosphere of extravagance, reinforcing the Capitol’s obsession with beauty, entertainment and distraction. Their sheer presence is a reminder of the vast power imbalance- designed to awe and overwhelm, yet ultimately hollow in meaning.

THE ORIGINALS

The French Quarter

Warner Brothers Television

PD: Bill Eigenbrodt Set Designer: Sheila Nash

For “The Originals”, I worked on recreating a section of New Orleans’ French Quarter in downtown Conyers, GA. This project required extensive coordination with the city, neighborhood, and a structural engineer. This set was designed to remain permanently after filming and was built in three phases. The set shown here is part of phase one: a large iron balcony above the bar known as “Rousseau’s” in the show, engineered to withstand live action stunts. The design carefully replicated French Quarter aesthetics while meeting modern structural demands, drawing significant inspiration from the Napoleon House in New Orleans, with many design cues incorporated rather than a direct copy. The balconies and supporting structures were crafted to accommodate dynamic loads, ensuring both authenticity and safety for performers. This project blended set design, urban planning, and architectural integrity.

Legacies

The Malivore Pit

Warner Brothers Television

PD: Bill Eigenbrodt Set Design: Sheila Nash & Maggie Ditre

The Malivore Pit set for Legacies, was a two-story timber and steel framed structure built inside a soundstage, designed with architectural and engineering precision to support stunts and dynamic action. It’s key feature was a three and a half foot deep water filled pit on the first floor, with catwalks above spanning the abyss. The structure incorporated engineered trusses ensuring stability while allowing for open space and dramatic vertical movement. The integration of structural engineering, modularity, and stunt performance considerations made this set function like an adaptable architectural space rather than a static backdrop.
