ClearIntent ™ Portfolio Sustainable Products and Services

As a key part of the extensive Select Solutions™ range, the ClearIntent portfolio has been designed to help you make a big impact on the shelf, and a smaller impact on the environment. As some of the examples here show, the portfolio covers a very wide range of potential applications.

Responsibly Sourced

Choose from hundreds of paper facestocks certified by the Forest Stewardship Council® or film made from renewable resources.

FSC ® Certified We offer the industry’s widest selection of FSC-certified facestocks. More than 80% of the paper products we purchase are made with wood fiber certified by the FSC. We’re committed to sourcing 100% certified paper by 2025.

MarbleBase MarbleBase facestock offers a radically different approach to sustainable material sourcing, with material made from calcium carbonate derived from marble mining waste (80%) and HDPE.

For a product to qualify for the Avery Dennison ClearIntent portfolio, it must meet at least one of the four sustainability standards.

Reduced

Use less material to help conserve limited natural resources (and capture lower costs).

ThinkThin ThinkThin portfolio offers facestocks and liners that are up to 50% thinner than comparable constructions. It includes 40 micron PP (clear/white/ silver), 70gsm semigloss and 60gsm DT papers, as well as thinner liners (BG33, PET23).

PE75 PE75 is a fully conformable and squeezable label that provides high conversion speed, greater operational productivity, cost efficiencies (7% longer reel length) and is paired with the thinner BG33 glassine liner for greater sustainability advantage.

Global MDO A more sustainable, semi-squeezable construction designed to improve conformable labelling, GMDO is engineered to provide a balance of rigidity and conformability with excellent strength and stability, that enable the widest operating window.

Avery Dennison understands the challenges

An ever-growing selection of sustainability-oriented products includes hundreds of facestocks, adhesives and other solutions. All are made using fewer inputs, certified renewable materials and performanceenhancing innovations.

Whether you’re designing more resource-efficient labels or working toward other sustainability goals, Avery Dennison can help you make labels a stronger part of your sustainability story and help to improve your environmental impact.

Enables Recycling

Make your packaging recyclable. What we use can be used again.

CleanFlake ™ CleanFlake features a breakthrough adhesive that eliminates contamination of PET plastic by allowing label and container to neatly part ways during the recycling process, improving yields of recycled PET plastic.

Glass Recycling Glass Recycling is a label solution that separates cleanly from the glass cullets during the recycling process, removing unwanted material from entering the recycling stream, improving both the quality and availability of recycled glass.

WashOff An innovative dual layer construction and a unique adhesive allows labels to easily detach from the bottle in a conventional bottle washer, making WashOff a solution for manufacturers who need a reliable clear-on-clear ‘nolabel’ look for returnable bottles.

Recycled Content

Give a second life to what we have already used.

rMC FSC ® rMC FSC recycled facestock is made from 100% recycled post-consumer paper waste, including up to 30% liner waste. It offers a sustainable alternative with similar appearance and print performance.

Wine Labels This portfolio of sustainable wine labelling provides facestock made from 100% recycled post consumer waste, partially recycled facestocks, and responsibly sourced materials made from crop waste.

rPET Liner Partially made from post-consumer waste PET bottle flakes, rPET liner is the thinnest filmic liner currently in the market (23 microns), with PET liner recycling options available.

rPE Made with 30% recycled PE resin, rPE reduces reliance on fossil-fuel based films, consumes fewer resources, helps to keep plastic out of the waste stream, and gives packaging a more authentic look.
