OKAY, SO WE ARE A WAYS INTO OUR NEW YEAR’S resolutions. This is your guide, and questions to ask yourself as you trudge through winter and the dawn of the new year to help you grow into the best version of you. For many, last year was full of a lot of staying at home and adjusting to the new normal. It’s okay if you felt like you got stuck and didn’t make the progress on yourself you thought you would! Don’t be scared to go for it! It’s time.
Any beauty or wellness guru will tell you to ask yourself, “does this serve you” while on the road to personal growth? Similarly, I think it is important to ask yourself, “will this help me be the person I want to be?” If you are working towards growth, what are the habits you are creating doing for you? How do they push you to be better? Next to that idea, what is holding you back from who you want to be?
It’s a new year, it’s a new age. The world is changing rapidly around us. If you want to wear hot pink clothes paired with glitter eye shadow, who is stopping you? If you want to lose ten pounds, who is stopping you? When it comes to being your best self, the only person standing in your way is you. The people we are meant to be are waiting for us. Don’t let the seasonal depression or the pandemic depression get to you queen! It may be colder, and the days may be shorter, but who you want to evolve into is built in these times right now. The way you wanted to transform your life, and the person you wanted to work on being before the new year is still there. They’re waiting for you.
Now is the time to be daring. Be audacious. We have overcome so much in the past year, and been forced to evolve. Now, take command of that. Put yourself in the driver’s seat. Create an environment that will help you thrive! Intake media that helps inspire you to keep working on yourself. Don’t give up on your goals or your dreams because it’s not as easy to keep up with it as it might be in the summer. You will thank yourself in a few months. It only takes 21 days to build a habit. That’s three weeks of concentration before it starts to become your lifestyle. You can do this!
