SUPPLIER FIND THE SERVICE YOU NEED

Our directory is designed to find any business aviation-related service provider you need based on several search criteria. If you need a CAMO to perform an airworthiness review recommendation you can easily search by aircraft type within the CAMO suppliers and you will find the right CAMO to perform your needed airworthiness review recommendation. If you need maintenance it's the same philosophy. Search by aircraft type and/or airport location to find your service provider.

The COVID Aircraft Recovery and What You Need to Know The COVID pandemic has caused many owners to reluctantly reduce the amount of flying they do or, in some cases, stop flying their corporate jets altogether. Owner’s usually think of this as a “lay-off the pilot, park the plane” action, but this cannot be further from the truth. And while, perhaps, getting your favourite car back on the road is something that you still can manage, restoring a parked aircraft is an entirely different ball game. The correct storage of a private jet is intrinsic to being able to quickly reactivate the aircraft, putting it back into service with minimal effort, cost and risk.

Short- and long-term storage is defined by the aircraft manufacturer in the Aircraft Maintenance Manual and involves a process of installing aircraft covers and plugs to prevent the ingress of moisture, sand, dust and debris. This work is combined with periodically powering up the aircraft, its systems and, with some types, performing periodic APU and engine runs. Short-term programs are designed to allow your aircraft to be quickly reactivated but require weekly checks and periodic APU/engine runs. The aircraft may be parked on the ramp or in a hangar. Long term storage seeks to store the aircraft in a deactivated state with the engines and APU inhibited, systems deactivated, often with slave brakes and tires installed with the originals stored in a protective environment. The flight deck and passenger windows will be covered, and the cabin will have sensitive material removed with desiccants installed to remove moisture from the cabin air. Ideally, for long-term storage, the aircraft is moved to a dry location (think desert environment) or parked in a hangar. WWW.AVIATIONHEAVEN.COM

A Parked Aircraft Could Be Your Money Pit The ideal storage program reflects the amount of time that the owner expects the aircraft to be out of service (with the ability to shorten or lengthen this time period, as required), where the aircraft will be parked (on the ramp, in a hanger, in a dry or moist, hot or cold environment) and access to maintenance support. Parking an aircraft without first applying the OEM storage program risks damage to the aircraft, engines, APU and systems. Recently, a Bombardier Global was parked on a ramp for 18 months in a humid location without being properly stored. Highlights of the reactivation included both engines and APU sent to the shop for inspection and refurbishment, landing gear removed and shipped to shop for evaluation, significant corrosion to the lower fuselage, empennage and control surfaces, moisture damage to cabin due to deflated passenger airstair door seal and a water leak at the baggage door, which damaged underfloor avionics equipment. Extremely costly and preventable.

Get Yourself a Proper Completion Manager Reactivating a parked aircraft is only difficult if the aircraft has not been maintained in accordance with the OEM’s published instructions. It requires an experienced team to assess the condition of the aircraft, establish the tasks that have not been performed and develop a work package that PERFORMANCE SECTION addresses the shortfalls, while ensuring that the OEM and regulatory authorities are satisfied that the aircraft is safe and airworthy. Camber Aviation’s team of professional completion managers have developed tailored storage programs, managed these programs and overseen the aircraft’s removal from storage process and re-entry into service. Occasionally, our team has recovered aircraft that have been parked for extended periods without adhering to a storage program. Our services have included assessment, developing a work package, overseeing the performance of the minimum work to ferry the aircraft to an approved maintenance facility, obtaining the necessary flight permit and overflight approvals, contracting a ferry crew, negotiating the work package with the MRO and overseeing the work, including adherence to schedule, resolving issues and auditing invoices. A time-consuming process that safely brings the jet back into service.

“Recovery” is one of COVID-19’s most sought-after words. The world has been challenged by the pandemic’s impact, but it has also forced every one of us to examine our personal life and consider how we do business. Each of us is more focused on our health and safety, when we travel. Business jets offer efficiency coupled with significantly lowered risk of transmission. During the crisis the business jet industry has stepped up saving time, money and even lives. Recovering your business aircraft from the impact of COVID-19, if done right, can provide a whole new perspective and new opportunities for your business.

ACC COLUMBIA Jet Service Maintenance on Gulfstream G150 and G200 Especially during the year 2020, ACC COLUMBIA Jet Service GmbH was able to welcome many customers operating Gulfstream G150 and G200 aircraft for maintenance purposes which convinced us once again that training of our technicians on these aircraft types was the right way. Both midsize corporate jets are gladly used by business travellers for medium-range flights due to the high cabin comfort for the passengers and the G150 is said to be the fastest mid-sized business aircraft.

Since the beginning of the year, G150s and G200s were constantly located in the hangars at Hanover Airport and Cologne Bonn Airport for different kind of maintenance with up to four G150 and G200 in peak times. The projects on these aircraft types were ranging from standard procedures as several engine changes on both models up to an extensive 8C inspection on the G150. Furthermore, our team performed minor interior modifications with the support of our branch ACC COLUMBIA – Interior which laid a new carpet and realised new gold plating on door hardware and other metal fittings. Apart from that, our technicians performed a leading edge replacement after birdstrike in co-operation with Gulfstream and our sheet metal shop ACC COLUMBIA – Support. Also for Gulfstream it was the first time ever that this kind of repair was carried out so that extensive pioneering work, communication and consultation apart from perfect execution of work was necessary. All tasks were performed in a professional and constructive manner by all involved parties. As usual, our customer was able to get his aircarft safely back in the air after release to service. It does not matter what kind of project our team expects, everyone is equally committed to routine tasks or new challenges and we are very much looking forward to supporting our customers in the year 2021!

CAMO - Airworthiness Review Certificate The practical guide how to get things done!

Airworthiness Review Certificate (ARC - EASA Form 15) Every aircraft must have a valid ARC to fly The ARC is valid for 12 month The ARC can be extended 2 times when the CAMO holds the privileges for, the airworthiness was continually managed by a unique CAMO and has been maintained by an approved maintenance organisation.

if the aircraft is less than 12 months in a CAMO there is a need for a full airworthiness review. Meaning a CAMO with the privileges to perform an airworthiness review recommendation has to be ordered to do so. This can start a maximum of 90 days before the ARC expires. The ARC recommendation must be submitted to the competent authority which will issue a new ARC (Forms 15a) when satisfied. Be aware that the competent authorities may take up to 30 days to review the recommendation to issue a new ARC.

#2 Aircraft was the last 12 month in a unique CAMO When a CAMO has the privilege to extend the ARC and the aircraft was within the unique CAMO for the last 12 months (before the initial ARC was issued) an extension can be performed. This extension can be done a maximum of 30 days before the ARC expires by the CAMO.

#3 Airworthiness Review Recommendation If a recommendation is required this comes in 2 parts. Document Review at the place were the aircraft documentation is located Physical Review at the place were the aircraft is located and preferrable at a maintenance facility as a in depth check has to be performed
