Dear Colleague, On behalf of Aviation Week Network, I’m very pleased to welcome you to Aero-Engines Europe 2022. We’re thrilled to be in Dublin and to be running this event completely in person for the first time since 2019. Throughout 2022, the invaluable benefits of meeting and connecting in person have again been demonstrated, and we hope this week provides the opportunity to reconnect with friends & colleagues and to share updates on the latest industry trends and opportunities. As our industry continues to move through the recovery period, we are again reminded that the trajectory is far from smooth, with significant macroeconomic challenges and recessionary burdens keeping pressure on operators and their partners. Across this week, we welcome leaders from across the market to offer their views on a range of topics, from key forecasts and data insights to proactive supply chain management strategies and sustainable initiates in the aftermarket. We really encourage all attendees to engage with the discussions, to ask questions and take part in live polling. Across the event, we will be using the Slido platform, which can be accessed by visiting www.slido.com on any device and entering the code ‘#AEEUR’. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our event sponsors for their ongoing support. Firstly, our hosts this week, SES Ltd for their hospitality and for welcoming us to Ireland. Furthermore, thank you to our premium sponsors, Aeroxchange, Beautech, Engine Lease Finance Corporation, iAero Thurst and Ramco Systems, and our sponsor Safran. I would also like to thank our showcase exhibitors, who can you meet in the exhibit and networking area throughout the week. We would also like to remind all attendees to fully utilise the Brella event platform. This is where you can see event attendees and set up meetings to reconnect with friends and peers, and to make new connections. Please don’t forget to check and respond to any pending meeting requests. For any questions on Brella, please don’t hesitate to speak to the Aviation Week Network team. I would also like to thank all speakers this week, for their commitment to providing thought leadership at this critical time.

A discussion covering the latest technologies and tools that are available on the shop floor. Ranging from drone inspections, mobile devices, paperless and robotics – what is out there? What are the benefits of these solutions, in speed, efficiency, cost saving and risk reduction? We will also consider the adoption challenges, from people, processes and systems to regulatory compliance and security.
Hosted by Christopher Gibbs, Senior Advisor, Navier Consulting Manufacturer Product Development Implications for Engine MROs
Reskilling MRO for Zero-Emission Engine Technology
As airlines begin incorporating cleaner technologies, the MRO workforce will need to adapt and learn new procedures to manage these aircraft properly. However, to do this, there need to be standardised processes that help transition workers to be fluent in zero-emission engines. James McMicking, VP Strategy, will guide a discussion on what he thinks these processes will look like and how we can begin preparing to train the workforce.
We will discuss the relative attractiveness for engine MROs of the various engine/airframe combinations, considering manufacturer aftermarket strategies, product longevity, product technology maturity and overall competitiveness of the market. We will consider questions such as “does the shift to narrowbodies reduce the attractiveness of the widebody engine overhaul market?
Not long ago, the OEM networks were perceived to be the death of the third-party providers and now being a member of the network seems to be more of a badge of honor and security for future business. What has changed? How do you perceive them now vs. how did you perceive them originally? Thoughts on the mutual benefits? What are the challenges and what ideas do you have to help these relationships further prosper?
Component Repair Supply in The Post-Covid Era
The Covid-19 pandemic has completely changed the dynamics of the component repair market. There is increased focus on human resources and highly specialized skills. How can the engine MRO industry can become more attractive to talent? Supply chain and commercial models also have significantly changed and a new perspective into the customer-supplier relationship will be required.

The integrated solution helps in a wide range of functions from induction planning to customer delivery & invoicing. Advanced capabilities such us digital task cards, kitting & due parts tracking, configuration control, scalable and configurable repair schemes, critical path & turnaround time management, mobile work execution and automated invoicing help in eliminating paper and inefficiencies. The below 5-step process further details how the solution simplifies and adds value to the entire Engine MRO process.
Ecosystem Integration: The seamless flow of data between the ecosystem partners such as suppliers, contractors, shipping partners, banks is essential for augmenting operational efficiency. Ramco enables a robust customer ecosystem through EDI, customer portal and apps, thus providing the dual advantage of boosting efficiency and improving value to the customers.
Digitalization of OEM documents: The e-Publication module can process the PDF-based, XML/SGML-based technical documents. Also, with its Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) capabilities, it can access the OEM manual library from the place of work through secure logins and API interfaces. This increases the operational efficiencies, by reducing the time and effort required to process the technical contents.
Mobility-enabled shop floor work execution: Our Mechanic Anywhere mobile app helps mechanics to book time, report findings, request parts and tools, and access the technical documents from the place of work. It also helps to collaborate with fellow technicians through chat, videocall, screenshare from the same device. With the required regulatory approvals, the app future proofs your operations with digital sign-off.

Real-time KPI monitoring: Our integrated data analytics provides KPIs related to TAT, quality, cost, resource utilization, and warranties and are computed dynamically without any need for manual consolidation and preparation. This makes way for a transparent and timely availability of insights for better decision-making.
Ramco Systems Ramco Aviation software is trusted by 24,000+ users to manage 4,000+ aircraft globally.
Smart automation: Engine maintenance processes generate wealth of data pertaining to the defects, parts consumed, labor hours, elapsed time to carry out the repair and overhaul procedure. Accumulated over time, this data can become a goldmine of information to gain insights. Our solution derives the insights in all key processes and help customers gain an edge over competition.
