Panel Discussion: Short Term Maintenance and Leasing
Trends
Operators are looking to extend leases and find shorter term maintenance solutions for their legacy engines, to combat production delays on new aircraft and durability issues on new engines. How does this change the operator risk appetite on different engine types? How long will this uptake in short term leases last? How are MROs approaching the demand for inventive maintenance solutions and prioritizing their capacity against full overhauls?

The main focus of this session will be projections around asset valuations for both classes. Shanith de Mel, Manager – Aviation Finance & Asset Management, ICF
9:55am
Panel Discussion: Investing in Changing Fleets
What is the panel’s reaction to the data presented? On current production engines, what is the trade-off for operators between fuel burn savings and unplanned maintenance costs? Considering OEM price increases for both parts and whole engines, how are procurement and management strategies changing? Is there direct pressure from governments to move to more efficient fleets?
