PART ONE OF A THREE PART SERIES: BEAUTY
Every human isn’t the same. If everyone was the same, life would be boring. According to Merriam-Webster, the word, different, means “not the same” or “not ordinary or common.” If nobody is the same, then why do we look down on people that are different? In modern life, we, as people, set many rules on what is socially acceptable for people. Even though as a world we are getting better with the acceptance of the people that don’t fall into these “rules”, we are still a world that is filled with unnecessary hatred towards people. When there is someone who makes bold decisions and dares to be different, there are always people who find their actions to be insulting or inappropriate, even if their actions are something as simple as wearing the clothing of the opposite sex. Why does this matter? It doesn’t. In a society where we are constantly promoting anti-bullying, kids being kids, and self-safety, there sure is a lot of unacceptance towards the way people express themselves. However, we are getting better with helping kids—and people—with being themselves. We are free to be beautiful, and find beauty in all things, however we define it for ourselves. No one should get to tell anyone else what is beautiful. iii

“EVERYONE HAS INNER BEAUTY.” In my photographs I aim to shoot more than what the eye sees. My photos are more complex than you may think. Learning to shoot a fashion photograph and style a model are somewhat basic ideas behind a fashion photo shoot, however taking the time to work with the model in creating a customized shoot is a different approach to couture photography. Each look in this issue was hand chosen by myself to match the personality of the model. After looking through certain clothing collections and listening to how Ashley embraces herself, I curated this personal stylebook magazine.
I am very big on being comfortable in your own skin and loving yourself and be compassionate towards others. Figuring out your own personal style and learning to embrace yourself is only one of the first steps of creating your own StarStyle. Once you learn who you are, it is easy to then rework what you own for a refreshed style. AVICCI NY only helps spark this process, it’s up to you to spend time with yourself and learn who you are. It may seem hard, but there is no reason to live life opposite to how you want. You only get each moment once. Love who you are. Everyone has inner beauty.

THE COVER LOOK The combination of the oversized lilac coat and crocheted top is a standout look that is quintessential “AVICCI NY style.” We’re all about mixing it up to created a look that is chic, affordable, and all about your personality. Sometimes this means mixing high end pieces with accessible brands, as featured on our cover for this issue. Here’s how the look breaks down: 1. Missguided Lilac Oversized Cocoon Coat 2. Givenchy Paris Crocheted Top 3. Missguided Neon Coral PVC Midi Skirt To create the look, you need to first start out with an inspiration and something of a neutral pallet (the Givenchy top). After you have your look in mind and your starting point, you must start the research. First start out my looking without any rules. Find the most expensive things out there and start bookmarking them as your Dreams. During this step, be aware of what things are called. Once you have narrowed your look down to the specific pieces you want. Then start heading over to affordable fashion sites (such as Missguided, H&M, Forever 21, etc). Scroll through the endless options of clothing until you have found the pieces that look the most unique (oversized coat and neon skirt). Pair your look with fun, yet simple, accessories to finish off your look. We accented this style with black Baccarat earnings, black leather tote, and black flower-detailed Chanel pumps.

There is beauty in everything. It is important for us to realize this and appreciate the beauty in the things that surround us. I am someone who needs to be encircled by all my books, notepads, and other clutter to get my creative juices flowing. Whenever you may be having a bad day or feeling down just stop, take a breath, and look around closely. Focus on the little things that catch your eye. Enjoy these up close photographs I took around my studio to show the beauty in the world around me.
