CURATED COLLECTIONS PACKED WITH PERSONALITY

FOR THOSE WHO KNOW ME, it’s no surprise that I’m a collector. Art, antiques, jewelry, shoes, clothes, handbags, even plants—they all tug at my soul and make me curious about their stories and how those stories play a role in my own life. I literally cannot pass up a vintage shop, gallery, or consignment shop without being drawn in to find treasures I just can’t live without. It’s that passion that has me tickled to share this issue with you. We talked with local experts about heirloom antiques and vintage finds as well as cherished family china sets—we discuss how to style your home with these treasures even in modern spaces (pg. 27 and pg. 34).

And ooh-la-la! We got a rare glimpse into the life (and closets) of the impeccably styled Florence Müller, Curator of Textile Arts & Fashion at the Denver Art Museum. Not only is she a very accomplished person, but she’s ethereal and otherworldly in her diaphanous gowns and charming smile (pg. 44). I like to think she would approve of the collection of family jewels featured on p. 42.

We were invited to experience Vehicle Vault’s collection of exquisite cars for our cover story, their vast anthology of autos is truly impressive. The museum evokes memories and offers a look into the future too. Our talented models were styled accordingly with each car to immerse you in the culture and the era of the autos (pg.56). Patrick Dempsey knows a thing or two about fast cars. The actor turned race car driver opens up about his perspective for achieving excellence (pg. 64). Another person with a passion for perfection is Cherry Hills designer Julie Judnt. Her repurposed handbags are coveted artistic gems that fashionistas fawn over (pg. 70).

If you’re like most Coloradans who play sports 365 days of the year, you’ll want to ‘dink’ your way into Pickleball mania. Check out the Rocky Mountain Pickleball Championships at Gates Tennis Center this month to see why this has become one of the country's fastest growing sports (pg. 74).

Finally, if your idea of heaven is traveling the globe for one-of-a-kind treasures, you’ll be booking your European tour after your read about Djuna’s yearly buying trips—it’s basically my ideal vacation! (pg. 78).

I hope you enjoy this collector’s issue as much I do. For me, it’s these personal touches that help define us and tell our stories for years to come. Here's to making sure your story is uniquely yours.

With Gratitude,
