ASPEN SHORTSFEST

Short-film fanatics often make the yearly trek up to gorgeous Aspen for this weeklong festival, showcasing dozens of short films from around the world. The big event also includes panels, workshops and other programs that spotlight the art and craft of making shorts. ASPEN, aspenfilm.org

WOMEN+FILM FESTIVAL

This annual festival, presented by Denver Film, showcases the very best in womencentric programming—movies by and about women, but for everyone to enjoy. Barbara Bridges, the festival’s founder, says it’s “an important platform to shine the light on women working behind the scenes to create change.” Screenings are at SIE FILMCENTER, denverfilm.org

PIANO BATTLE

Internationally acclaimed pianists Paul Cibis and Andreas Kern “battle” for audience votes during this event that’s part classical recital, part “tongue-in-cheek performance.” The interactive show is divided into several rounds, each with a different musical style, and the pianists will improvise based on audience requests. ANASTASIA: THE MUSICAL

A romantic and adventure-filled movie jumps from the screen to the stage for this new Broadway musical, in Denver for a limited engagement. INTERACTIVE ROCKY HORROR

PICTURE SHOW

It’s an interactive presentation of a classic film, where audience members are encouraged to dress the part, then sing and dance along. MURDER & MYSTERY SHOW

Cherokee Ranch and Castle is the perfect setting for a “whodunit” set in the 1950s. FROM CHAOS TO ORDER

With “From Chaos to Order: Greek Geometric Art from the Sol Rabin Collection,” visitors will get to view 57 stunning Greek works of art dating back to 900 BCE, many of which have never been on public display.
