SPRUCE UP OUTDOOR AND GARDEN SPACES

The warmer months mean more time in the garden or relaxing in your outdoor areas.

Perhaps you’ve thought about planting a seasonal garden or want to plant some herbs to have in your summer salad. Or perhaps you want to change the energy of your outdoor areas – making them more useable or inviting.

Whatever you’re aiming for, we’ve come up with some subtle changes which can really help elevate a space and enhance its visual appeal. Some are temporary, while others are more permanent. Hopefully they inspire you, and you can add your own individual flair.

From the back garden to the kitchen garden, Australians’ love them all. And as we have all spent more time at home, we’ve come to see the kitchen garden with fresh eyes.

Fruit and veggies are climbing – and we’re not just talking about on the vine, but also at the supermarket checkout. Deakin University found in the first half of 2022 healthy items were subject to the largest price hikes.

Staples such as lettuce, tomatoes and broccoli all skyrocketed by up to 150 per cent compared with just a few years ago. If we happened to have time travelling abilities, perhaps it would see most of us going back a few years to convert our backyards to veggie beds!
