POSITION
Impossibly ultramarine waters, mysterious caves, old style fishermen villages, plunging volcanic mountains, candy-coloured perched towns, hidden pebble beaches and deeply traditional, hospitable locals are unexpected extras of a stay in Vico Equense and its surroundings. Sorrento centre with its kaleidoscopic old centre, crammed full of shops, is just 20 minutes away from the hotel; Positano with its pure white small lanes and bougainvillea flowers is about 40 minutes away; continuing driving along the beautiful Amalfi Coast will give you the chance to discover some precious jewels such as Amalfi, Furore, Praiano, Ravello and Scala with their tremendous views of the sea. For a jump back in time of 1932 years, just drive 20 minutes for a visit to Pompeii Ruins, or 40 minutes to visit Herculaneum Ruins. For some trekking and terrific view, the Vesuvius is the perfect spot. Naples is about one hour driving far…go there for a crunchy sfogliatella and an espresso or a tasty pizza Margherita in the swarming historical centre, a few steps far from the museums, cloisters, royal palaces, the underground old Naples and so on. From Sorrento it‟s also possible to get a hydrofoil to reach the blue paradise of Capri Island, which is the shopaholic Mecca and photographers‟ favourite destination. By hydrofoil too, but in 50 minutes, it is possible to visit Ischia with its calderas and hot water springs.

STORY OF THE HOTEL Hotel Capo La Gala was built towards the end of the 1950s by the architect Carmine Savarese who, respecting the natural topography of the inlet, developed a unique and harmonious hotel in one of the most sheltered yet sunny corners of the Sorrento coast, exploiting the local limestone rock as the dominating element. It was just in that period that Hotel Capo La Gala became a favourite seaside resort and meeting point for all dandies and artists, becoming very popular with local nobility too. In fact, thanks to its hush, its perfect marriage between sea and mountains, its uncontaminated nature and spectacular landscapes, the Capo La Gala resort was the perfect secluded place to spend some exclusive time with the artist‟s inner circle of the 50‟s. As time passed by, the Sorrento Peninsula became increasingly popular with tourists, so, the seaside meeting point gradually took on the function of a hotel, with 18 bedrooms all with sea view, in one of the most intimate relaxing corners of the Bay of Naples. In 2006, Mr Enzo Acampora, a worldly-wise tourism manager, purchased the whole property and the Hotel Capo La Gala was carefully re-designed with the utmost and harmonious elegance, with a touch of bright and chic Mediterranean marine style. The five stars Boutique Hotel Capo La Gala is now known for the exceptionally high standard offered, both with the Hotel and the Restaurant.
OWNER‟S BIOGRAPHY Mr Enzo Acampora, direct heir from the family Acampora, a three generation hotelier family, studied at the famous “Schloß Kleßheim” hotel-management school in Austria and at E. Maggia school in Stresa, obtaining the highest marks and achieving the qualification with Alfonso Iaccarino, another successful men of the Sorrento Peninsula. After some training and experiences in foreign hotels, Mr Acampora moved back to its home town Sorrento, starting working in the family business in order to improve its management skills: he worked and then became business partner of Hotel Minerva 4****L, Hotel Bristol 4****, Villa Bianca suites, Grand Hotel President 4**** Sup, Azienda Agrituristica Acampora. Mr Acampora‟s 4 sons are following their father career: Tonino is managing the Avi Incoming Travel Agency, Bianca works in Avi too, Mario is fully involved in Capo La Gala hotel business and Vanessa, the youngest one, is working both in Avi and Capo La Gala.

Oliver‟s professional story is characterized by the concept of journey. A path, marked at the very start by his first culinary steps together with his father, later become a new art experimentation. The art of Oliver emerged during his childhood, in Germany with his father and it is an ongoing journey among flavours and emotions which continuously lead his path. In 2001 Oliver left Germany after having received his first Michelin Star at the „Acquarello‟ restaurant in Munich. In Italy his choice was made for the Amalfi Coast at the „Capri Palace Hotel & Spa‟, in Anacapri and it was just there that the Michelin Star he conquered in German y, was reconfirmed. In 2006 Oliver was furthermore awarded with his second Michelin Star. In 2010, Oliver left Capri with the intention of making his path and creating his own project. With the recognition of two Michelin stars in 2011 also in Rome, chef Oliver Glowig reaches once again the top of gastronomy, only eight months after the opening of his new eponymous restaurant at the Aldrovandi Villa Borghese. And now there is a new, incredible story to write with the Restaurant “Maxi” of the Capo La Gala Hotel & Spa, in the fantastic scenery of the Sorrento Peninsula.

Wines from Campaniaare very appreciated for their excellent aroma, their velvety taste and the delicate fragrance. The beach house-style bar has stone walls and wide windows, with navy upholstery and lots of antique furniture. Sailors will love the model boats, conch shells and decking. The long wooden bar at the end is fully stocked with spirits and a selection of wines from Campania. It features an inside room furnished with comfortable and stylish armchairs and an outside area adjacent to the pool, ideal for relaxing while enjoying a wonderful view of the spectacular bay. Do not forget to sip an ice cold limoncello – the sweet meringue-ish liqueur made from the lemon trees that litter the rocky cliff sides of the Coast.
