This is my attempt at a very simple short image-based book as part of my "Introduction to image making" course, where my chosen subject was the Platypus or "Ornitorrinco" in spanish. I was inspired by a few children's books and some artistic ones where they integrate different styles in order to create a contrast or creative narrative that captures the eye. I wanted to include different iterations and compose them in ways that either surprise or make readers intrigued and evoke different moods depending on what they are accustomed. It was a fun experience working with different mediums like watercolor, pastels, photography, readymade objects or stock images and then editing them on the computer and first hand by making thumbnail sketches or cutting up drawings. It took a while playing and rearranging the compositions until I was sort of satisfied. I wished to create a weird narrative that sets the feeling for these playful, majestic yet bizarre egg-laying semi-aquatic mammals. It was also an interesting exper
