A comedian once observed that if “The World of Science” was ever to have a face, it would have to be a face showing complete surprise: “Ever see a person with a bad face lift? A bad face lift shows a face that looks like it’s caught in the middle of a gigantic wind tunnel! It is a face that is stretched back, with eyes and mouth frozen, with a half-smile, half-look of surprise on it! That’s the face of science!” The analogy of science sporting a look of surprise, or shock, is a valid one. After all, history overflows with examples of how the world of science was caught offguard at discovering shocking new facts and discoveries, forcing researchers to constantly replace old ideas with newer ones. Spanish essayist, philosopher, and university professor, Miguel de Unamuno y Jugo, summed it up best: “Science is a cemetery of dead ideas.”
And so it is, today, with San Diego County’s first inhabitants, specifically the Kumeyaay Indians. Research scientists have painstakingly compiled reams and reams of data, down through the years, regarding these indigenous people, only to have their scientific apple cart over-turned! Just when the scientific community was racing along, believing their collective research had gathered most of the fundamental answers on the Kumeyaay people – ka-boom! – their fast-moving research vehicle collided head-on with a low-level overpass bridge! All of which gives new life to Albert Einstein’s remark, which he repeated all his life: “If we knew what we were doing, it wouldn’t be called research, would it?
It now seems abundantly clear that San Diego County’s first people, the Kumeyaay Native Americans, keep popping up with unexpected surprises that have stunned researchers from around the world, not once, not twice – but again and again, with no end in sight! The prehistoric Kumeyaay were far beyond being merely hunters and gatherers. They were early scientists, astronomers, horticulturists, and healers. Their ancient culture has proven to be far more advanced and sophisticated than first thought. When the first Europeans sailed into what is now known as San Diego Bay, the early Kumeyaay had 30 separate, independent tribes, which anthropologist classify as “patrilineal clans.” Each clan had a centralized power structure which oper-

ated within each, independent village. The power structure revolved around a social leader and a shaman (equivalent to today’s priest or priestess). Their religious year was calculated by observing and studying the sky. It is too complex to explain here, but Kumeyaay planting and harvesting activities were carefully based on the solstice and equinox occurrences in our solar system.
And while it is true that the
ancient Phoenician, Egyptian, and Greek mariners studied stellar references for safe navigation, and equally true that such ancient structures such as Stonehenge (in Wiltshire, England), marked the solstice and equinox, it is staggering to put in perspective that the ancient Kumeyaay astronomers existed more than 10,000 years before Stonehenge was even constructed. And over 100 centuries before the legendary Phoencian,
Egyptian, and Greek seafarers!
World experts on ancient civilizations find it intoxicating to ponder that the prehistoric Kumeyaay natives were roaming and studying their environment, as horticulturists, in what is now known as San Diego County, more than 10,000 years before the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World (known as The Great Pyramid of Giza) was even built! construction was concluded, circa 2,560 B.C.) Kumeyaay theology was highly more sophisticated and complex than initially thought by contemporary research scientists. Their religion revolved around their central, most high God, Tuchaipai, and his chief prophet, Kuuchamaa, who both required moral rules and proper behavior, such as honesty, respect, and loyalty. Rudiments found in modern religions today.
Part of the Kumeyaay religious belief revolves around a boy hero, named Chaup (Shooting Star Boy). Chaup’s father and uncle are “miraculous twins,” miraculous because both were born without any father – in other words, a virgin birth. This “virgin birth” belief by the Kumeyaay people predated Christianity, and its claim of the virgin birth of their Messiah, Jesus Christ, by Mary of Nazareth!
The Kumeyaay concept of a virgin birth predates Christianity (and all modern religions), by at least nine thousand years! The ancient Egyptians and other civilizations of antiquity had their own religious versions of the virgin birth, but their oldest beliefs are only 4,000 years old, at best. It staggers the imagination of today’s antiquity scholars that the virgin birth stories of San Diego’s first people predates the earliest known versions on a global scale, by as much as 8,000 years!

Kumeyaay spiritual stories that were recited to their children, taught the young ones how to behave and survive in an unstable, turbulent, and dishonest world. The spirits of their mythology resided in sacred places and the location of these places were kept highly secret by the Kumeyaay. Many still remain unknown to this very day.
Like the Jews, Christians, Muslims, and many other world religions, the Kumeyaay Native Americans had their own sacred places and holy lands. For Christians, the Holy Land is where Jesus lived, performed miracles, was crucified and resurrected. To this day, Christians hold sacred such areas as the cave at Bethlehem and the Holy Sepulchre. Muslims venerate the rock of the Temple Mount, where Muhammad is said to have visited. The Baha’i faith have their holiest site in Haifa, Israel. It is there that the golden-domed Shrine of the Bab is located on a hillside, amongst terraced gardens. Likewise, Buddhists revere Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha. Lumbini is the Mecca of every Buddhist today. It is one of the four places most worthy of pilgrimage by Buddhists. The other revered places are the site of his enlightenment, the site of his first teaching, and the site of his death. And so it is, also, with the Kumeyaay. Sacred lands were revered. As documented by nationally-recognized Kumeyaay authority, Anthony R. Pico: “Kumeyaay creation stories and

Their numbered population during their early settlement is not even agreed upon (not even in general terms) by antiquity scholars, and is hugely varied, more so than most other ancient civilizations. Estimates at the time of European contact (not including Baja California) run the gamut from less than 3,000 to as many as 6,000 to 9,000. However, foremost authority, Florence C. Shipek, of the Smithsonian Institution, at Washington, D.C., estimates the Kumeyaay population at the time of European contact, to have been as much as 16,000 to 19,000 strong, which stunned many fellow scientists to initially disagree, vehemently. However, Smithsonian’s Florence C. Shipek’s much higher estimate of 16,000 to 19,000 is now considered most accurate, by global consensus. Ranch, Mission Valley, San Diego Bay, and as far east to the Colorado River, and as far south as Ensenada, Mexico, and all points in between, these ancient Kumeyaay were pioneers whose ancient ways we are just now beginning to unravel.
No other North American indigenous tribe has had their past shrouded in mystery as much and as long, as San Diego’s Kumeyaay have.
To better appreciate the enormity and scope of these statements, it must be pointed out that there are (as of July 2015), 567 Native American tribes recognized in the United States. This translates to over 5.2 million Amerindians in the U.S. Of all these different tribes, and all these separate reservations, and all these millions of Native Americans in North America, none come close to nursing long-held secrets (not always by design, but by circumstance) as in the Kumeyaay culture. There’s not even a close second! Yes, we know much of it, yet we also know relatively little.
Documented research did not seem to match-up with these first Americans. They seemed far more than what the data revealed. Something odd, something weird, something funny was afoot that tickled the experts and rekindled a worldwide fascination

into San Diego County’s first-ever inhabitants. The ghost of Isaac Asimov comes to life, and his words now ring true: “The most exciting phrase to hear in science, the one that heralds new discoveries, is not “Eureka!” (I found it!), but, hmm, ‘That’s funny . . . ‘” (Isaac Asimov, famed American author and professor of biochemistry.)
Questions that hard science thought they had already answered on San Diego’s indigenous people, are now re-opened. Questions remain: Just how long have they been here? And how advanced were they, really? Did they have fierce warriors? And if so, how could such a huge piece of this puzzle have gone missing for so long? It was long-thought that San Diego County’s Kumeyaay Native Americans were simply hunters and gatherers. Certainly, not ancient scientists, or astronomers!
Stunned researchers of the ancient Kumeyaay culture quickly took to heart what fellow research scientist, and University of Maryland professor, Robert L. Park, warned them about: “The greatest discoveries of science have always been those that forced us to rethink our beliefs about the universe and our place in it.” (Quoted in The New York Times, December 7, 1999). And this most certainly pertains to San Diego’s Kumeyaay Amerindians.
Just how long have these first people been in the San Diego County region? This question is now fully re-opened to worldwide debate among the most august archeological scholars. In historical circles, it was pretty much a “done deal” among leading anthropologists and archeologists that the Pueblo Indians, situated in the southwestern United States (primarily, Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Arizona), were the oldest culture in the nation. The ancient Puebloans were said to be the “earliest Native American” group, with an unprecedented tenure spanning some 9,000 thousand years.
Contemporary science has now re-evaluated itself, and hard archeological evidence confirms that San Diego County’s Kumeyaay culture to be among the oldest in North America! Some antiquity scholars now contend that the Kumeyayy may, indeed, be “thee” oldest aboriginal culture in the entire U.S.
One of the most prestigious research institutions is San Diego’s world-famous Museum of Man, located in the lush surroundings that is Balboa Park. On November 8, 2012, the authoritative museum posted a “Spotlight on the Kumeyaay” on their website stating, among other things, “Archaeological evidence tells us that the Kumeyaay have inhabited San Diego County for at least 10,000 years! The San Diego Museum of Man is privileged to house a large collection of Kumeyaay artifacts.”
The 10,000-year-old estimate of the Kumeyaay presence in San Diego was evaluated as a “conservative” evaluation. As stated, and emphasized, by San Diego’s Museum of Man, “ . . . for at least 10,000 years!”
More contemporary viewpoints give the Kumeyaay an archaeological time-line of 12,000 years in the San Diego County regions, but perhaps as long as 14,000 years, or more. Though research is ongoing, there is little doubt that the Kumeyaay people are now given a long, hard look, as being one of the oldest prehistoric people in the United States! But, what about their warriors?
Most certainly San Diego’s Kumeyaay Native Americans did not have fierce warriors. And certainly no warriors of repute, such as found in the Plains Indians: the Arapaho, Blackfoot, Cheyenne, Comanche, Kiowa Apache, Sioux, and so on. After all, researchers said, “Nope, they didn’t.”

Not transparent, but unexpected. Not easy to subdue, but swift, effective, and deadly.
Aside from their physicality, much must be said of the Kumeyaay spirit and courage, and their relentless endeavor to remain free. This is reflected in the historical fact that of all the various tribes in all of California (California has more reservations than any other American state, today), the Kumeyaay were, by

The scenario seems absurdly onesided and gives new meaning to the phrase, “You don’t take a knife to a gunfight.” Spanish soldiers, seasoned, welltrained, well protected with armor breast plates, and with superior weaponry, confronting a primitive culture in combat -- no problem. Or so it would seem, in theory. So, how did the Kumeyaay warriors prevail in many skirmishes (not all, perhaps, but in several). Did they employ new methods of stealth, reconnoitering, ambush, creative warfare tactics, all of the above?
At present, historians are only able to view these past combatants through “keyhole” parameters. No living person connected to these past events has survived the centuries to bear witness. However, Native Americans often retain an oral history of their people that they, diligently, pass down generation-to-generation, which have proven to be “remarkably accurate.” Also, archival material kept by the Spaniards, themselves, as well as archeological forensic studies which reenact events with surprising accuracy, all seem to strongly suggest what may have happened, long ago.

Local News Escondido Police Arrest Child Pornography Suspect
The Escondido Police Department and the San Diego Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, routinely conduct targeted, proactive investigations to seek out and prosecute those who sexually exploit children online. In June of 2015, Escondido Police detectives identified 52 year-old Vista resident, William Francis Walsh, as actively importing and distributing known files of child pornography online to others. Over the course of a week-long investigation, detectives acquired numerous videos of child pornography from Walsh, which were distributed online in violation of several criminal statutes.
In July of 2015 a search warrant was executed at Walth’s residence where computer equipment related to the investigation was seized. The subsequent forensic analysis of the equipment seized from Walsh’s residence was found to contain an extensive collection and history of child pornography images and videos downloaded and distributed electronically from the residence, including those acquired by investigators during the investigation.
On November 3rd, 2015, Walsh was arrested without incident in the City of Vista by Escondido P.D. and members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force. Walsh, a dispatcher with the

Man About Town It Was the Dessert That Got Me . . .
Evelyn hustled me off to Black Angus last week ... a treat for my birthday, she said. Black Angus just opened in Escondido about a month ago. It seems they've got their act together.
Service was excellent, decor very cowboyish .. . but modernly so.
I had a small (6 oz.) filet mignon, smothered with mushrooms and bleu cheese, a salad, and bbq beans. Evelyn had the ribeye steak, Caesar Salad, and taters.
The meals were perfect. Absolutely delish. We were both comfortably full . . . but not stuffed.
Me: Looking at Evelyn. Whattya think? Shall we split it? We agreed to split the dessert. Wow!
That chocolate chip cookie (a) just came out of the oven and was toasty hot, chocolate chips melting as I looked at it, (b) was the size of a small pizza, about 1/2” thick of toasty warm cookie with melted chocolate chips, and (c) topped with a nice dollop of vanilla ice cream.
Need I say it was very rich?
We finished most of it and headed home, arriving about 9pmish.
A bit drowsy, I decided to lie down for a small nap.
I woke up the next morning at 0600. Looooong night's sleep. No nap.
That dessert, as delicious as it was, was, of course, loaded with sugar. Not good for a diabetic.

Sugary stuff makes me sleepy. Usually, a quick nap of an hour or so and I'm right as rain. Or whatever passes for rain in drought stricken California.
Didn't really need that much sleep ... but the dessert got to me.
Recommendation? Black Angus is well worth a visit and the use of your favorite credit card. Not all that pricey. $57 for the two of us, plus tip. But if you're a diabetic ... pass on the birthday dessert. Delish . . . but it'll knock your blood sugars all to hell and back.

Located east of the city of Escondido near Lake Wohlford and the Fish and Game Gun Range, Arie has had an army of groundskeepers tend to the expansive grassy areas surrounded by ponds, waterfalls, trellises, mature palms, birds-of-Paradise and pomegranate trees. Visitors marvel at how beautiful the estate is.

In 1925, it was sold to Lord Somerville, a Scottish member of the British aristocracy, who developed the property with the construction of a 6,000 squarefeet Mediterranean villa, barns, guest houses, servants' quarters, abundant gardens and vineyards. Once considered the most expensive residential property in San Diego County, the estate has been called "one of the greatest showplaces in the entire west" by local press. In 1933, Somerville hosted King Edward VIII, who later abdicated the throne to marry American divorcee, Wallis Simpson. It was reported that he courted Simpson while staying at Melrose Ranch.
Arie tells me he sells the property reluctantly as he knows it is part of his legacy but his wife, Anneke, has arthritis that is quite painful for her and while living on the ranch she insists on work, work, work. “Maybe when we move into town into smaller quarters she’ll learn to relax a bit, take a load off her feet and not hurt quite so much.”
The guessing game now begins as to what kind of price this mansion and its estate will bring. Multi-millions for certain. What is less certain is whether the new owners will be as sharing as Arie and his family have been. Arie took great pride in showing his property and entertaining guests. It’s the passing of a splendid era.

OC is the same agency that wanted to kill Karma the dog taken from her family simply for having wolf blood in her (saved thru social media & the courts and now in a wolf sanctuary). This same shelter allegedly kills dogs while rescues are in line to fill out the paperwork simply because they can and they don’t care. The management of this facility is on the news all the time and there have been numerous petitions and pleas to jail them for violating the Hayden Act and bring in new caring managers for well-being of the Voiceless.

Veterans Day was first celebrated as Armistice Day to commemorate the end of World War I. The guns officially fell silent at the Eleventh Hour of the Eleventh Day of the Eleventh Month, 97 years ago. Armistice Day later became a national holiday recognizing the bravery and sacrifice of over four million Americans who served and over 116,000 who died during the “Great War.” Also known as the “War to End All Wars,” World War I did nothing of the kind. Many feel the Versailles Treaty that formally ended the conflict merely set the stage for World War II, which broke out 20 years later. After World War II, Armistice Day became Veterans Day to honor and remember all veterans who have served this country in war and in peacetime. My dad was an Army veteran,

Our veterans have never failed us, and we as a nation must never fail them. We must always support our veterans, not just remember them on Veterans Day. Above all, we must honor their service by remaining forever vigilant, so that the nation they built and defended at such great cost will remain strong and free. After Adolf Hitler’s lighting success in capturing most of Western Europe using the German army’s “Blitzkreig” (lightning warfare) tactics, only Great Britain remained to be harnessed in the Nazi yolk of dictatorship. But all that stood in the way of German domination of England, Scotland, and Wales was the English Channel and the world’s most powerful flotilla: Britain’s Royal Navy. At that time, German Luftwaffe

(air force) was the most powerful in the world with more than 2,500 fighters and bombers; Britain’s Royal Air Force numbered less than 800 fighters and bombers. Probably around 600 usable aircraft was a more realistic number. Hitler decided that bombing British airfields and demolishing the RAF would be a prelude to a Channel crossing and land invasion from the French coast some 25 miles away.
Luftwaffe leader and Hitler’s No. 2, Herrman Goering, underestimated the tenacity of the British people’s will to resist and the bravado of RAF pilots. In order to equalize the numbers, British pilots would have to shoot down invading German planes on a four-to-one ratio. Hitler was confidant his bombers could overwhelm the British with brute force, knocking out coastal defenses and shipping, eventually giving the Germans air control over the whole of southern England. When the initial mission failed to destroy the RAF, Hitler launched a night-time bombing campaign, or as the British called it, “Blitz,” of London. So confident Goering was of his air force’s superiority, he bragged to Hitler that if any British bombs ever fell on Berlin, he mockingly told the Nazi leader that he could call the rotund air marshall, “Meyer,” (a Jewish name considered by the Nazis to be a supreme insult). When the first RAF bombs rained down on Berlin, no one knows what Hitler said to Goering, but it’s a good bet it wasn’t pleasant. Hitler under estimated the stamina of the British people and the skill of RAF pilots and their aircraft. While the Me-109 fighter was a fast and agile aircraft, the RAF “Spitfire” was a superior weapon.
The Brits united under Prime Minister Winston Churchill’s leadership to defend their nation at all costs. They refused to give up, even as their cities were repeatedly bombed. The British had an advantage over the Germans: radar, which they invented. The Brits knew exactly when the Luftwaffe was coming, in what strength and at what altitude. RAF fighters, “Spitfires” and “Hurricanes,” kept German air raids at bay, but at great cost to the RAF. British and German aircraft factories were turning out planes as fast as possible to keep up with the daily destruction. Still, when the Battle of Britain ended, the British had lost some 900 aircraft to the Germans’ 2,300 planes. The RAF had nearly equaled their needed “four-to-one” combat ratio.

You realize that asphalt has a liquid state. The potatoes cook underground so all you have to do is pull one out and add butter, salt and pepper.
Farmers are feeding their chickens crushed ice to keep them from laying boiled eggs. The cows are giving evaporated milk. Smiles
The other day Mary and Bob were in bed, asleep. It was about 2:00 AM. Bob woke up because he thought he heard the doorbell ring. He rolled over, but sure enough it rang again, and now someone was pounding on the front door. Bob tried to ignore it, but by now, his wife, Mary, was awake who insisted that he get a baseball bat and go and check the situation out.
So Bob put on his bath robe and grabbed the bat and off he went to the front door. When
he opened the front door there stood a drunk, well oiled and stinking as if he had been swimming in the bottle. Bob asked the man what he wanted, the drunk said, “I need a push!” Bob explained to the drunk that it was 2 AM and there was nothing he could do at that hour. Just wait until morning. He will help him then - besides it’s raining so hard. He’ll push him in the morning. Bob closed the door and headed back to bed. Upon arriving in the bed room, Mary was wide awake and asking what happened. Bob explained that there was a drunk at the door and needed a push and that he had told the man to go away and wait until morning.
Mary got all upset. “Remember what our pastor said in Sunday’s sermon about how we are to love and how to be kind… Now you are leaving that poor man out in the rain and all he needs is a push.” Bob gives in and grabs his raincoat and heads back down to the door. He opens the door and no drunk. So he goes out in the heavy heavy rain yelling for the man. Finally the drunk answers. Kumeyaay warriors were initially pitted against impossible odds, yet found ways to persevere in victory! The well-respected, world authority on Kumeyaay history, Mike Connolly, encapsulates this, “Spanish weaponry and armor made the soldiers virtually invincible to the wood and stone weapons of the Kumeyaay.” And yet, the European invaders were often surprised! Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo was a conquistador in his youth. The label of “conquistador” is an earned label, applied to Spanish soldiers who explored and conquered in the New World. From 1520 to 1521, Cabrillo fought the terrible battles against the mighty Aztecs (under Hernan Cortes) and won. History records that weaponry, battle tactics, and unsurpassed bravery, made the Spanish soldiers formidable opponents in any combat scenario.
It was this same Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo, who first sailed into what is now called San Diego Bay. His three majestic ships moved gracefully through pristine waters with Cabrillo, himself, standing, and surveying, from the deck of his massive flagship, the 200-ton galleon, San Salvador. The San Salvador’s mighty sister ships, the 100-ton La Victoria, and the lateen-rigged, twenty-six oared, San Miguel, shadowed the flagship, escorting her every move, protecting her flank, port and starboard. Looking at the remarkable beauty of his surroundings, Cabrillo proudly claimed our harbor, Point Loma, and all he beheld, for Christendom and the mighty monarchy of Spain. The year was 1542. And these were uncharted waters upon which no Spanish vessel had ever before sailed. Where no European vessel had gone before. It was like the first moon-landing. This was the New World, and Cabrillo’s landing would be referred to by historians as no less than founding “the birthplace of California.”
World history would record Cabrillo as the first European to ever lay eyes on San Diego’s own Kumeyaay Amerindians. It was history-in-the-making. Cabrillo’s visit was brief and the Portuguese-born explorer and conquistador, found the Kumeyaay natives both fascinating and friendly, and recorded such in his diary prior to his departure.
However, such encounters were not always pleasant. Cabrillo never imposed his will or power over San Diego’s indigenous people. This was not always the case. There would be skirmishes, battles fought and won. However, the Spanish invaders’ own diaries and records reveal an astonishment that gives us a very, rare glimpse of America’s Kumeyaay people, and their unexpected vigilance as first-class warriors. Prehistoric, yes.
Armed with simple wood and stone weapons, rocks, and rudimentary bow-and-arrows, yes. And yet these same primitive Kumeyaay warriors often refused to relinquish large parcels of their sacred land to the European invaders that followed in the wake of Cabrillo.
In reality, the European’s modern world sometimes clashed with the Kumeyaaya stone-age culture in an unlikely match that would reminisce “David and Goliath.” And yet, the outcome was not always as it might seem. Antiquity scholars, worldwide, have rekindled a fascination at San Diego County’s indigenous people, the Kumeyaay. The recent popularity in studying the Kumeyaay is a surprising fact. The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department, San Diego County Probation Department, Oceanside Police Department, Carlsbad
Police Department, and the Escondido Police Department joined to conduct a probation compliance operation in the City of Escondido.
The operation involved 41 personnel from the above agencies broken into multiple teams. The respective teams went to a number of locations in order to check on persons currently under supervised release under AB109. The checks are intended to make sure persons are complying with the terms of their release. Those who are not in compliance are taken into custody.
Saturday’s operation resulted in 13 arrests and the seizure of 1 pound of methamphetamine and 1 ounce of cocaine. The arrests are broken down as follows: • 5 warrant arrests (various charges) • 5 arrests for non-compliance • 1 arrest for possessing methamphetamine • 1 arrest for a parole violation • 1 arrest for possessing narcotics for sale
Additionally, the teams conducted 30 compliance checks and 37 fourth waiver searches. All persons arrested during Saturday’s operation were booked with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department. The partner agencies consider this a successful operation and will continue to work together in an effort to increase public safety.

Yesterday was Veterans Day and I would be remiss if I did not take this time to pause and pay tribute to those brave veterans who came before our troops currently serving around the world. We honor all of our veterans, especially those in the North County region. As a City, we are proud of the men and women who have so bravely and selflessly served our country. I would also like to acknowledge the dedicated troops who are presently serving our country in
distanct places overseas and at home. We owe America’s veterans and those now serving a depth of gratitude and appreciate the great sacrifices they have made for us. Their patriotism is an inspiration for us all. I also applaud our adopted Marine Corps Unit. The City adopted Marine Squadron 369, a helicopter squadron within the Marine Aircraft group 39, based out of Camp Pendleton in 2008. Winners and losers, the big three - part II
Microsoft, Apple and Google (recently renamed Alphabet) are the “big three.” A summary from last week’s discussion on how the “big three” make money from PCs (notebooks and desktop) goes like this. Apple sells only 5% of the World’s PCs but the average Apple PC sells for over $1000 and Apple gets all of it. By contrast, Windows PCs outsell Apple twenty to one worldwide but a PC sells for half the price of an Apple and the revenue gets split between a dozen major PC makers and Microsoft. Microsoft makes less than $50 on each PC sold. Google (Alphabet) makes nothing on the sale of a new PC but makes billions in ad revenue from PC users accessing the Internet with Google Chrome, Google Search and YouTube. The big three also sell applications that are used on PCs. While PC sales

That one air battle might very well have preserved our democratic way of life instead of living under a dictatorship. The “big three” are also players in the “mobile device” market, but in different ways. The Mobile market consists of smart phones and tablets. The smart phone market has experienced dynamic growth in recent years but only grew by 20% in 2014, 10% in 2015 and is forecast to remain flat in 2016. Apple’s share of world wide smart phone sales is 14% with Android commanding 83%. Microsoft Windows phones comprise most of the remaining 3%.

Implants - Practical Advice for Long Term Success
The Dentist is well educated and trained in implantology and the patients are well informed on key elements critical to the success of the implant.
Why Implants? When it comes to replacing missing or hopeless teeth there are other options, but implants, including implant supported dentures, are the treatment of choice. They are the closest thing to natural teeth in terms of how they function and becoming a treatment of choice for those approaching retirement.
Understanding the Problem. They're not for everyone. For a variety of reasons including finances, health conditions, smoking, and casual approaches to oral hygiene, they shouldn't be considered. Even with the most experienced dentists implants are not immune to complications and failure, particularly for in-appropriate candidates, A commitment to regular hygiene appointments are
General Health - Implants are not always indicated if the patients medical history presents issues that complicate or contraindicate implant treatment. Those that are immune-suppressed or active cancer or certain heart conditions are contraindicated. Others at high risk precluding surgery include chronic illness, use of bisphosphonate use for treating osteoporosis, osteoporosis, smoking or diabetes. It must be considered whether or not it is "worth it" to place implants in patients with lifethreatening diseases.
Oral Health - Uncontrolled periodontal disease must be brought under control prior to treatment, but it also is important for practitioners to address problems such as clenching and grinding. If there is an implant placed where there is more stress, the heavy “grinder” or “clencher” can shear off screws due to heavy grinding. In those areas they must be relieved and may work better if the implants are splinted together.
Realistic Expectations/ Oral Hygiene - The success of a procedure may hinge on excellent home care and adherence to recommended recall schedule. Often it recommends additional cleaning with the water flosser to keep the
area clean around the implant. A hard line with smokers is also necessary and many require them to sign a "smoking cessation waiver" to initiate treatment.
Finances - The unfortunate reality is that implants cost more. For simple cases it's not a big factor but for complex cases involving numerous implants and site preparation the cost can go up a lot. A payment program is offered by Care Credit(www.carecredit.com), Lending Club (www.lendingclub.com), and Spirit Dental Vision (www.spiritdental.com) at 0% for a limited period. Timing - The time it takes from beginning to end normally requires a waiting period for implant-bone interfacing. There
are some techniques which allows the dentist to place the implant into the socket at time of tooth removal. In those cases, with bone addition, the implant can be restored in about 5 months with a crown. However, in most cases for ideal implantation, bone is first placed and then in 5 months the implant is replaced. However, this technique is still the most successful approach in most cases.
