Considering a New Van? For many business owners there comes a time that you need to re-assess how the business is growing and the direction in which it is moving. One thing you will need to look at is where you are spending your money, what is coming in and where to re-assign money elsewhere in the business. A van is usually a great investment for a growing business, especially for those who use their van to get them from A to B and move all of their tools around. So why choose a new van over something like bigger premises.
Well, firstly bigger premises lead to a bigger expense in both the short term and the long term, where as a new van could result in reduced out goings. A new van will allow people to see that your business is a professional body and you are willing to put your money where your mouth is. It also shows a clean a tidy approach to your business as well as your work, unlike driving up to a customer's house in an old beaten up banger. A new vans can also be a source of free advertising, displaying your business details and information so that new customers can contact you who are interested in your services. You may even find that the cost of running a new van is far cheaper than having an older van that drinks oil like it's going out of fashion, and is in need of constant repair and maintenance. A brand new van will come with a warranty which will ensure that if some problems occur then the dealership should take care of it. The only real downside of a new van is the cost. Even then there are many 'buy now pay later' schemes being run by dealerships such as Ford across the UK as well as a monthly payment plan which spreads the payments across a longer period enabling you to pay for the van gradually.
Reliability is also another key factor. A van which may break down at any given time can only leave you exposed to being stuck in the middle of nowhere, and usually when you are on the way to a job, which won't leave a very good impression.
