03 AIRCRAFT CABIN DESIGN CSULB |FALL2017|DESN132B The objective was to design an aircraft interior space for the choice of carrier and class. Singapore Airline is famous for its luxurious first class seating with lots of features. However, the class chosen was business, because my goal was to create a space with a whole new idea: The space has a rotating chair, which makes it possible to use it as a meeting room for business or dining space for families. For demonstration and better understanding of the space, a 3D mock-up model was made in 1’ = 1” scale.

04 QUADCANE DESIGN CSULB |FALL2017|DESN132B The objective for the project was to design a quadcane perfect for the target customers. The target customers were both shortterm and long-term paticients, which required the product to have a design that attract a wide range of people. Therefore, the main focus of the design were simplicity and convenience. The renderings were done by hand using Copic markers, white gouache, and technical pens.

05 ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN STUDY OCC |SPRING2017|ARCH115 In this project, a plastic ship model was used to create a re-imagined architectural model. The model kit was deconstructed so that the components were no longer recognizable as the original form. Following the model making, a section plan and a floor plan were made in Rhinoceros program, and then colored in Adobe Illustrator.

PROJECT OC Observatory is an observatory located in Anaheim, California. The building has an observation deck, restaurant, cafe, giftshop, lecture room, and planetarium that are available to the public and an astronomy lab for the local scientists to do the researches in. To design this building, two types of form languages were applied. First one is to put a heavy scale on the above, and light scale on the bottom. Since it is a observatory, the main floor, which consists a huge part of the entire building, is at a higher point. In contrast, the two "legs" are on the bottom to support the building. To bring an attention to the main part, the proportion was designed in this way. Second one is from inside to outside. Because its design process was to design the interior first, the building's details stay in inside. Due to these form languages and use of materials, the building is also known as ”The Floating Jellyfish”.

06 LOGO DESIGN CSULB |FALL2017|DESN255 In this project, the logo was designed based on students’ names. My goal for the project was to create a logo which can be used in a professional occasion. Initials for my name – A and M are represented in an abstract way with a simple, yet strong design.

PROFILE I am an international student from Japan who is passionate about studying art, architecture, and interior design. I moved to the U.S. shortly after high school graduation in 2014 to study English and experience different cultures. During my stay, I was often attracted by both modern and traditional architecture and unique interior design in this country. Interior design has been my biggest passion since high school, and I thought studying it in such a diverse country like U.S. would be a great experience. After learning the basics of interior design at a community college, my interest is leaning towards to commercial, retail, hospitality, and sustainable design. I believe that those types of design can contribute a better society and is a key to achieve higher levels of economics.
