SOUL Exploring The World Through The E yes of ‘I
’
Chosen from all over Nepal we have been brought together in the most reputed insti tute of all time and it’s a matter of great pride for all of us. A journey filled with turmoil and struggle has made us capable enough to be here. We are not just happy but proud to be here and our pride has been reflected through this piece of art. So to say, our dedication and hard work paid off. We have been here to express our joy and this great leap of “Soul” is what has taken our pride and confidence to the next level. “Soul” may be an inspiration to many who are in the verge of taking steps guided by St. Xavier’s to fulfill their dreams. It’s a need of time that we take every opportunity that comes in front of us to achieve what we have been here for. “Soul” has let us endeavor our potential and confidence that we had within, letting us explore the world with our words that needed a platform to be expressed and embossed. Many more thanks to the entire writers, readers, supporters and motivators. “Soul” wouldn’t have existed if the enthusiasm of fellow friends of section ‘I’, our college administration and not forgetting the sponsors as well, weren’t with us. “Soul” in other aspects has given us an opportunity to be even more proud. This magazine has taken all our effort and dedication and that’s why it is here out in this world. This magazine “Soul” has all the literary talents hidden in us, exposed. It has enabled us to endeavor our capacity and capabilities of writing for which the editorial board is really happy. It gives us immense pleasure to expose our writing in front of all the readers. “This is the beginning is what the editorial board has to say as the last words to this edition. At last before ending our few words what we would like to say as our last words is “we will be back soon again” .... ”

Message from the Principal’s desk
Rev. Fr. Augustine Thomas SJ
Dear Students , My heart fills with pride as I read your expressions of thought contained in these pages that you decided to collect the ideas into a magazine is commendable. Anybody can write; but to limit oneself to one page or half, and yet contain everything that one wants to express, says a lot about a writer. Your stories, articles, poems, reflect this. Creativity, enthusiasm, novelty and innovativeness spring out at me from these pages. Reading the magazine is like taking a walk through many different worlds and being surprised with every step at how far the imagination can reach, and how colourful it can be. You educate me, the ‘educator’, with your varied ideas and you show me that adulthood does bring with it a certain kind of practicality which sets boundaries on what could be probable and what not. I am glad that your imagination knows no bounds. I urge you to never stop writing. Let that imagination run free, let the thoughts and ideas find expression, no matter how impractical and quixotic they may seem. Jog the muscles of the mind. Tickle the neurons. Writing gives one a certain kind of power: you can be a creator and destroyer. You create new universes, you create characters. You have absolute power to mould your creation. And you have the power to destroy it at will. All this in a story. The world has always been enthralled with stories. Cavemen told stories pictographically. Then there were books and then there was television. All these means of expression tell stories and hold us in rapt attention. Go ahead and exploit this weakness of the human race for stories. Let writing go on.

Message From Magazine Advisor
Woods are lovely dark and deep But I have promises to keep And miles to go before I sleep And miles to go before I sleep
r Mr. Shishir Kumar Bhusal
-- Frost
Winning every battle is not the glory of an individual rather finding another way to live with it remains the best out of any one’s life. There are many obstructions and snags in the journey of our lives but clearing them we should move ahead. Like Robert Frost says “And miles to go before I sleep” which always has to strike the inner core of the blooming creative writers of class 11 section I (2012),marching a long journey and reaching there. I am overwhelmed with the beautiful path of yours that you have paved and proved that you can do by publishing this beautiful magazine named Soul. I could find a mojo searching a way inside you and you gave it the most beautiful and possible way that proves one more time that ‘YOU CAN DO’. I wish you all the very best for your outcome of sweat reminding you THIS IS JUST A BEGINNING.
Message From Class Representatives (CRs) p Uplav Bhandari p Sneha Mahahrjan They say you can’t become a leader but if luck is on your side, you are born a leader. To add to this, we have heard or read of these legendary figures like Mahatma Gandhi and Adolf Hitler . So when someone says “leader” , discipline ,knowledge, hard work, co-operationand sacrifice are likely to strike our minds. Yet, not everyone; actually no one is perfect, instead we have our own flaws. These flaws make us who we are and it is absolutely not a matter to be ashamed of .But despite our flaws, the class we had recently joined, elected us as their representatives. They may have had their reasons but it all comes down to the promise we made to them ; we would not just their CRs but we would be their friends, such that we would only tread ahead knowing that the aspiration , expectations of our class mates were alongside us. Our journey so far can be understood in the form of a short story. In a distant village, a devastating earthquake hd led to demise of dozens of innocent souls of which one belonged to their noble leader. Hence, as traditions , his son was in charge ; a young bloke who was kind of heart and sincerely cared for the villagers and likewise the villagers had grown quite fond of him. To reach a safe location , they has to travel miles and at times of hardship, people used to disagree with him . Nevertheless, they arose from their dissatisfaction so much so that , he wasn’t worshipped at their leader but regarded as a brother in the family of the village. Well nobody knows if they got to their destination and in which condition but the devotion of a leader combined with he trust of the villagers could undoubtedly take them anywhere. We hope they reach their new home soon , that too safe and sound. To sum up, if we have been able to contribute as leaders, it was only possible since we were lucky enough to have villagers like our I-nians/classmates. Not only so but the time and dedication of our fathers, sisters and teachers have made our adventure all the more worthwhile . It is said ; do your best and God will help ; so may God be with us , for the story has not ended just yet. 6

mile of ocean contains 46,000 pieces of plastics. Plastics Is Killing Us 70% of the plastics produced every year r Shivam Kharga About Hi! I am Angered. I am a kind of Plastic. It’s my find its way to ocean floor. Most of the marine challenge to you that we, the plastic products are the most powerful and destructive in this world. We all the products of plastics are active in our work not lazy like the humans. We, the plastics, are made from crude oil. The oil is heated to release ethylene gas. This is converted into polyethylene that is forced through holes to make strings which are cut, heated & molded and bags, bottles are formed. In this way, every year over trillions of my brothers are born in which 1 million is used every minute. We rule on the Earth by degrading the environment. We all have our best contribution in this process. I want to give special thanks to the humans because they have made a great contribution in this process. They have become so lazy but fashionable that they can neither do some labour to dispose us nor they can use paper bags. Do you know how I and my brothers have affected the world up to now? I and some of my brothers were brought in this market. One day I with one of my brothers were brought from a grocery store. At home all the goods inside were kept out and we were made free. We were made out and useless by them but we were actively working in degrading the environment. My brother was thrown out of the house along with dust and garbage into a drain. He started dissolving its resins intoxicating the water. Finally, he came out near the sea beach. Do you know a fact? Our resins are made of toxic chemicals like ethylene oxide, benzene and xylene which readily vapourize and pollute the air as well as the water. Not only he but we all plastic products have starter this process only after short time of our birth. This is flammable and explosive which causes numerous chemical accidents in the environment that makes contribution in Global Warming. Lastly, he got mixed in ocean. Scientists estimate that every square 7
animals think them as food and eat them. It happened to my brother too. A fish had eaten him but it died due to ingestion problems of plastics. This was the story of my brother. After the day my brother was thrown I was used once again. I could help them in packing their meals but they did not know that I was leeching harmful chemicals into their food. Do you know that, that food is eaten by humans who cause them cancer? But after their use I was thrown by the side of the road. Now, I feel relaxed here as I actively vapourize harmful chemicals directly by the sun. Wait! I think I am being lifted by a girl. Ah, what are you doing with me? No, no‌ This is Plastic Recycling Centre. You cannot leave me here! There are many plastics in this world. They are all non-biodegradable. Only 0.5% to 3% of all bags are recycled. So, we should prefer paper bags instead of plastics. Its production should be stopped and it should be recycled to save our Earth. mmm
Say NO to Plastics
The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams

selves helpless? Not to worry for we have committees and social groups But our generosity goes to show how closely our hooks have money entangled in its loops In broad daylight, taking away the sanctuary for the various unknown forms of life Then leaning forward to question who plunged the knife? Praiseworthy photos in our handmade wall of fame Out of rising from a blood-battle with our brethren, is in itself the pedestal of shame We live in towns and cities surrounded by strong concrete walls At a glance, it seems even a pinch of imperfection in satisfying their children is forbidden Little do we know that each house has hate and deceit deep within it hidden? During Exam
P Sarvashree pal
During exam we set so many alarms, But when it rings our ears literally blocks. Somehow we manage to get up early in the morning But with so many intervals of yawning! Parents always force us due to scarcity of time, But we feel as if it is a compulsory crime. During three hour of our exam, Our memory gets jammed. And we try to cheat by asking, “May I go to toilet ma’am?” What a relief when first exam gets over. But again our mind gets wired, Since other exams are left moreover. One by one exam approaches its end, Then we realize that what has happened. mmm

Poems My spring
r Uplav Bhandari This evening world is beautiful with guitar on my hand and My tune mixing in the air But where’s the music I seek for Is my tune afraid to get off for my music is far away out there ? This night sky is full of stars shining so bright and it’s the moon that attracts my eye but where is the charm of the moon I seek for has it been absorbed in the dark black sky? For my spring seems no longer nice The spring is no more rejoicable Not for all but for me for it rains in my spring Not from clouds but from deep beauty crystals Not just droplets but bristles too ....................... The spring has become so lame In my spring the moon is above me But its charm lost below somewhere In my spring I have my tune in my hand here But its music far ‘away out there Morning is here in my spring but birds on the farmland Chirping their way My spring has come to me but ........ its flow er blooms away its flower blooms away, its flower blooms away .... !!! Blooms far away mmm

Then I sit and realise It’s the fear to lose someone whom I love I say Love is a way to life And a reason to survive Love is something to be cherish A feeling that can’t be perished Love gives you hope And conviction not to quit But I say don’t fall in love Just rise in it. mmm
Reality of my life Time r Sandesh Bhandari r Hitesh Raj Pradhan
I remember the day you said goodbye, You told me as you’re always mine. I’d know something was calling you That I could read in your eyes too. As I stood in the pouring rain, My heart would never be the same You taught me time always heals the pain, Bring the sun and dry the rain. You need to think and solve your problems, Why you call me in the dreams To turn the reason, change the season, Time is the strongest of everything I was worried when you left me, And you never said what you wanted. I live my life just wasting time, Hoping that someday I can say the same. mmm
Why do I feel I’m alone? Even when I’m in a crowd Why didn’t anyone answer? Even when I cry out loud I’ve seen so many faces But I’m noticed by none I’ve spoken many words But I’m heard by none
Why is it so difficult? What I’m seeing I wish I could change myself Into a better human being I’ve asked so many questions Answers I’ve got none I’ve wished so many wishes Fulfilled I’ve got none Nothing has changed I’m still the same I’m still what I used to be And I’ve got no one to blame The way that I feel is I’m seen and heard by none But what I’ve to learn is My life will still go on. mmm

SOUL What’s Love? r Ankit Lohani
There is a saying “Someone somewhere is waiting for you” No doubt. It is absolutely true. Let me confide That there is a beautiful girl. More beautiful than a diamond or pearl. The girl whose Appearance just begins my day That she is beautiful in any way. And this is The insight that I could see That she’s created for me Considering that it’s my duty I tell her all of my feelings But she reveals me nothing Unfortunately All my considerations became failure That she is not meant for me is clear. Does anyone know? Why does she do such work? Why she takes my love for joke... I conclude By falling in love, we get nothing. Stay away from it if you want to achieve something. Love is abstract And deviates our heart in its construction And matches your spirit by turning it into EVIL mmm
Poems For You r Shashank Karki Written with a pen, sealed with a kiss, If you are my friend, please answer me this: Are we friends, or are we not? You told me once, but I forgot. So tell me now, and tell me true, So I can say I’m here for you. Of all the friends I’ve ever met, You’re the one I won’t forget. And if I die before you do, I’ll go to Heaven and wait for you, I’ll give the angels back their wings And risk the loss of everything. There isn’t a thing I wouldn’t do, To have a friend just like you! mmm

And, I am standing in the dark. I am all alone searching for a little spark. I thought I was the one you are searching for. But, I was not what you said. Magnet can attract iron but not gold. Even if I am dumb Your name is what I say, Even after my death, For your happiness, I will always pray. I have no reason to live, Just a reason to cry. From now on, I’ll not shed a single drop of my crystal tears Down my eyes. I will lock your memories, Hidden behind the lockers. Now, you will never find me, waiting in this dark corners. mmm

Poems
I am free r Shisir Acharya I have my own world, a world free of your influence where your mathematics cannot bind me by any formula, where your physics cannot measure me by any devices, where your chemistry cannot compel me to react neither does your biology explain about my life. In a sense, it is indeed a world in itself, a complete world where I am me and not you. The world you cannot even imagine to exist. If you ask me about its existence, I cannot prove it to you because it is my world, not yours. This is the world where your Universal law fails. Here I can roam into myself without thinking about the limitations. Here, a penny earned by me myself can make me live for my whole lifetime. In my world there is no teacher to ask me for my note. There is no friend to boast about their talent. Neither is there any duty to be done nor the rights to gain. In my own world, I do not have to struggle for my existence. Neither have I had to prove myself to others. I just have to live and that I do. Beyond all your books and all your phenomena, there exists a world, my world where you cannot seize my freedom where I am truly free. mmm
Sometimes r Shaswat Kafle
Sometimes I feel a life, Full of life laughter and joy And, surrounded with smiles. Sometimes, I feel like dead seeing no one to flank me Tears roll down the cheeks And, the heart exudes pain. Sometimes, by just a goal, There is too much of gain, And, sometimes even if I give my all, It all goes off in vain. But I never quit, And, try on to reach my goal, I am like that I suppose There is none for that to oppose. Someone Special like You *Shaswat Kafle* There’s someone special in my life Who doesn’t know I care, I wish I could let him know it But to let him know I wouldn’t dare. I don’t even want to risk it I don’t want to even try, For if he knew I felt this way I’d feel insecure and shy. This feeling I’m having It must be one of love, I never knew I’d feel this way About someone special likes you. I never thought I’d feel this way I never thought I’d care But there’s something that smile of yours That makes me stop and stare. How can I tell if he likes me? will he ever look my way I’ll keep my feeling hidden for now And, save them for another day. mmm

SOUL A Second Chance r Sumnima Joshi
Why? Why do you fear when I don’t? Why? Why do you care when I don’t? Have full faith… In me, in you… Will you? People say everything has a chance once I say, oh no there is always a second chance People say you ought to pass another test I say, no need, as you are the best…
Who doesn’t fall while trying to walk? Who doesn’t slip while trying to talk? Who doesn’t get hit while driving a car? Who doesn’t get hurt in a severe war? Everyone does dear… everyone does… But try and understand my friend There’s no compulsion in following the trend Just learn being yourself Cause you are the best… Everyone learns to walk after falling one time! Everyone gets aware after slipping one time! Everyone drives swiftly after failing one time! Everyone is victorious after losing one time! Cry! Laugh! Do whatever but don’t… Don’t get hurt, tell me you won’t!! Share your worries with me… Think everything practically… Open your eyes lift your boundaries... Give the world a damn; and look how life really is... Close your eyes and think positive… Give no care to the reactions you receive Did you learn to read without heading for it? Did you learn to sing without hesitating a bit? Was your handwriting best without being bad earlier? So why worry?? Why fear? Because everyone does… everyone does You just need to understand, Things not always work as planned But you see, success follows failure Injury waits for its cure, What if the pain doesn’t seem to heal...? There’s always second chance to steal
Poems Care for you… care for me… Live your life as much as it could be Caring for the world makes no time for you You are not the one to get sold... Oh dear, you have your own saga to be told You are not as bitter as world is You different from how world sees May not be the perfect one but remember Perfection doesn’t last forever… Everyone needs a second chance… You got one too… So bring that smile back Bring out the best in you… Cause you are extraordinary… …extraordinary… Call her Beautiful r Shaswat Kafle
As she loses all her might
As her hair turns silvery white, mmm The velvet touch long gone.
But there still are things to learn. She seldom wears make up As there is no one to care. Her beauty is not made up Superficial is all but despair She walks down the same aisle As she did years ago…
She has on her face, the same smile The one fathomed long ago Those long gone years Lost somewhere in the sands of time Remained now are just her tears As being old is like a crime To this world and eternal race She has lost her everything She couldn’t keep up with the pace Her retrospection still feels dazzling She inherited her beauty Once adored by men. But now they don’t call her pretty Wrinkles are all that remain So, go call her beautiful With a complementary pretty Beauty lies in everything But not everyone sees it. mmm

Poems The Joy of Dashain r Prabesh Chandra Neupane
SOUL Coma white r Shaswat Kafle
Once again dashain has knocked the door, Leaving far away the sorrows and sadness; The autumn has come to wake me up, With full vigor and boredom is no more.
There’s something cold and blank, Behind her smile. She is standing on an overpass, On a miracle mile.
The sound of chirping bird is really wonderful, With the hymns of goddess spreading everywhere; The children loitering around here and there, Free from the burden of homework and school.
She was from a perfect world A world that throw you away today. To run away.
A pill that will make you dumb, A pill that will make you numb, The fragrance of blooming flowers diffusing, A pill that will make you anybody else, Remind me of the moments I spent with you; But all the drugs in this world, Since it’s a year you left me alone in the earth, Won’t save you from yourself. I’ll see your smile fading in every ray of sunlight. She’s bleeding like a Polaroid, Who lost all the dolls? Look you’re flying, like u always wanted to, You’ll fly forever in the sky of azure blue; You are all heroes in the dope show. The colors have already lost their hue, Drugs have already lost their way and white Birds are singing softly; we are missing you. But still you are sticking to them Hibernating and being coma by you. Upon seeing little cloud or a rainbow soaring mmm high, We’ll think of you and will wipe tears from our LET’S LAUGH eyes; Life will go on and so will joy of dashain, r Ram Babu Magar But we will always miss you and so will dashain. Essays Desire! Who’re you? r Sandharbha Bhatta
Desire is something that everyone thinks that he/she has but in reality only few manage to have an intense feeling as such. Desire is something that drives a person to achieve what he wishes. The word desire may be misunderstood as a raw feeling of wanting something that strikes now and then in a person’s mind but it is something that has a different level of gravity of its own. Such raw feelings are just dreams of a person but desire is something that gives us the will power to make our dreams come true. It pushes us to our limits and even further. As I see it, the word desire is a synonym to the word ‘hunger’. Whatever you have achieved so far, be it in school sports or anywhere, you have achieved what you had desired, nothing more and nothing less. If you have failed in something then you had the desire to fail. You never had the desire to achieve more. There were many things you could have done to achieve more but you didn’t because you didn’t have the desire to do it. In the exams as well you get the marks that you desire to have because in exams you write what you study and you study how much you desire. There is simple formula for success and that is hard work. So if you have the desire nothing can stop you. You plan to study late night today, but when the time comes you just don’t want to do it, you feel lazy i.e. you lose the desire to do hard work which is equal to success. I myself experience this. I sit at the last bench of my class, but I know that whether I sit on the floor or in the first bench, I can succeed if I have the desire to do so. I know many people who are at the peak of success who didn’t have a good college and who studied in government schools. These people didn’t complain about their situation and they just focused to fulfill their desires to be successful. The only thing that can stop you from fulfilling your dreams is you. If you are in a situation you constantly fail then ask yourself why? You may make numerous excuses by blaming others... but when you look deep down into
SOUL yourself, you can see that you failed because you didn’t have the desire to succeed. Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian of all times with 22 medals including 18 gold medals in swimming, is a legend who not only had dreams of being an Olympic champion but also the desire to make those dreams come true. He took swimming to new heights in the Beijing Olympic by winning all the categories of swimming and setting new world records. But he wasn’t that successful in London as he himself admitted that he had lost the desire to try hard and was reluctant in attending training sessions. He has become an inspiration to people all over the world not only as a swimmer but also as a man who had the desire to win the world and as a man who showed what humans are capable of doing if they really have the desire. Winning 8 gold medals in a single Olympiad is not a joke. Olympics are the most competitive event in the world where thousands of athletes participate hoping to become legends but only a handful succeeds. Sir Alex Ferguson is a man who is never satisfied with what he achieved. He always had the desire (hunger) to achieve more and more. He has won 20 Premier League titles with Manchester United and he is still hungry for more! Both Phelps and Sir Alex are much respected by the world for their achievements and they are few contextual people among many who have demonstrated what human being can do if they have desire. mmm
Shoot for the stars and if you don’t reach them you will still be on top of the world.

Nobody had ever thought that a boy who was just 1.40 meter in height, when he was thirteen, would not only debut for a well-known club like Barcelona but also go on to become one of the greatest soccer player ever. Since his debut for Barcelona in La Liga, he has consistently been ranked as the best player winning every major title there is to win. Messi learned his primary skills in Argentina and later he moved to Spain at the age of 13 where he got admitted in the world’s best football academy, Barcelona’s La Masia. His perfect dribbling and unstoppable pace made him a top scorer. He is on his way to becoming Barcelona’s all time highest goal scorer and the best goal scorer in Champions League history which led to Barcelona winning all the major titles in the past. He is annually paid 43 million dollars out of which he earns 16 million he earns on the pitch and rest from the endorsements. The saddest day of my life
r Upeachya Kansakar
It was 6 o’clock when I woke up in the morning. I got ready for school and was really upset. I got into my school bus quietly and didn’t speak to anyone. I was gathering courage to face the reality. I was quiet with eyes all wet but I was just trying to keep a fake smile on my face. The bus reached the school and I walked to my class. There I saw all my friends laughing, talking and gossiping with each other. Still I could see some pain in everyone’s eyes. That was the last day of my school and it felt as the last day of my life! As soon as I stepped into my class I went to a flashback, where I could see all my friends and those wonderful times we spent together. All those fighting, gossiping, bunking classes and making fun of others. I remembered each and every moment. Tears rolled down my cheeks; still I controlled myself and tried to keep a smile in my face. Then I walked to my best friends. Other days I could talk non-stop hours but on that day not even a single word came out. I couldn’t decide whether I should talk about all those wonderful things we had done together or talk about our separation. So I just decided to keep quiet. We friends had decided to make that day the most memorable day of our lives. So we did many crazy and funny things on that day. There was even a moment when I did such a stupid thing that I got embarrassed in front of the whole class. But still when I remember that moment now, a smile comes to my face spontaneously. Finally, it was the last period. I was talking and laughing with my friends when the last bell rang. My school life was officially over! I could control myself and just burst into tears. I cried so bad that some of my friends even started laughing at me. I just ignored their evil smiles and gave them a tight hug and told them “MISS YOU A LOT!!” The ten years that we spent together were like a beautiful movie that had everything from action and drama to comedy. All the people of class 10 “I” were the most special people of my life. Though miles apart, we’re never apart, for friendship doesn’t count miles, but is measured by the heart. mmm 18

Essays Linkin Park r Sujan Dhungel
There are few people who haven’t heard the songs of Linkin Park, or even listened to the name of the band. The history of the band goes like thisLinkin Park is an American rock band from Ag¬oura Hills, California, formed in 1996. Since their formation, the band has sold more than 50 million albums and won two Grammy Awards. It achieved mainstream success with its debut album, Hybrid Theory, which was certified Di¬amond by the RIAA in 2005. Its following stu¬dio album, Meteora, continued the band’s suc¬cess, topping the Billboard 200’s album charts in 2003, and was followed by extensive touring and charity work around the world. In 2003, MTV2 named Linkin Park the sixth greatest band of the music video era and the third best of the new millennium behind Oasis and Cold¬play. Having adapted the nu metal and rap rock gen¬res to a radio-friendly yet densely-layered style in Hybrid Theory and Meteora, the band explored other genres in their next studio al¬bum, Minutes to Midnight. The album topped the Billboard charts and had the third best debut week of any album that year. They have also collaborated with several other art¬ists, most notably with rapper Jay-Z in their mash up album Collision Course, and many oth¬ers on Reanimation. Originally consisting of three high school friends, Linkin Park’s foundation was anchored by Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, and Rob Bour¬don. After graduating from high school, the California natives began to take their musical interests more seriously, recruiting Joe Hahn, Dave “Phoenix” Farrell, and Mark Wakefield to perform in their band, Xero. Though limited in resources, the band began recording and pro¬ducing songs within Shinoda’s makeshift bed¬room studio in 1996. Tensions and frustration within the band grew after they failed to land a record deal. The lack of success and stale¬mate in progress prompted Wakefield, at that time the band’s vocalist, to
SOUL leave the band in search for other projects. Farrell also left to tour with Tasty Snax and other bands. After spending a considerable time search¬ing for Wakefield’s replacement, Xero re¬cruited Arizona vocalist Chester Bennington. Jeff Blue, the vice president of Zomba Music, had referred him to the band in March 1999. Bennington, formerly of Grey Daze, became a standout among applicants because of his unique singing style. The band changed its name from Xero to Hybrid Theory. The newborn vo¬cal chemistry between Shinoda and Bennington helped revive the band, inciting them to work on new material. The band’s renaissance cul¬minated with a change in name; from Hybrid Theory, the band changed its name to Linkin Park, a play on and homage to Santa Monica’s Lincoln Park. However, despite these changes, the band still struggled to sign a record deal. After facing numerous rejections from sev-eral major record labels, Linkin Park turned to Jeff Blue for additional help. After failing to catch Warner Bros. Records on three previous reviews, Jeff Blue, now the vice president of Warner Bros. Records, helped the band sign a deal with the company in 1999. The band re¬leased its breakthrough album, Hybrid Theo¬ry, the following year. Following the success of Hybrid Theory and Reanimation, Linkin Park spent a significant amount of time touring around the United States. The band members began to work on new material amidst its saturated schedule, spending a sliver of their free time in their tour bus’ studio. The band officially announced the production of a new studio album in December 2002, revealing its new work was inspired by the rocky region of Meteora in Greece, where numerous monasteries have been built on top of the rocks. Meteora featured a mixture of the band’s previous nu metal and rapcore styles with newer innovative effects, includ¬ing the induction of a shakuhachi (a Japanese flute made of bamboo) and other instruments. Linkin Park’s second album debuted on March 25, 2003 and instantly earned world-

SOUL wide rec-ognition, going to #1 in the US and UK, and #2 in Australia. Meteora sold more than 800,000 copies dur¬ing its first week, and it ranked as the best-selling album on the Billboard charts at the time. Music videos for some of the album’s sin¬gles, including “Somewhere I Belong”, “Break¬ing the Habit”, “Faint”, and “Numb”, received significant radio attention. By October 2003, Meteora sold nearly three million copies. The album’s success allowed Linkin Park to form an¬other Projekt Revolution, which featured other bands and artists including, Mudvayne, Blind¬side, and Xzibit. Additionally, Metallica invited Linkin Park to play at the Summer Sanitarium Tour 2003, which included well-known acts such as Limp Bizkit, Mudvayne and Deftones. The band released an album and DVD, enti-tled Live in Texas, which consisted of audio and video tracks of some of the band’s per¬formances in Texas during the tour. In early 2004, Linkin Park started a world tour titled the Meteora World Tour; supporting bands on the tour include Hoobastank, P.O.D. and Story of the Year. Meteora earned the band multiple awards and honors. The band won MTV’s awards for Best Rock Video (“Somewhere I Belong”) and the Viewer’s Choice Award (“Breaking the Habit”). Linkin Park also received significant recognition during the 2004 Radio Music Awards, winning the Artist of the Year and Song of the Year (“Numb”) awards. Although Meteora was not nearly as successful as Hybrid Theory, it was the third best-selling album in America during 2003. The band spent the first few months of 2004 touring around the world, first with the third Projekt Revolution tour, and later sev¬eral European concerts. Following Meteora’s success, the band post¬poned working on a new studio album for the next few years. Instead, Linkin Park contin¬ued to tour and work on many side projects. Bennington appeared on DJ Lethal’s “State of the Art” and other work with Dead by Sunrise, while Shinoda did work with Depeche Mode. In 2004, the band began to work 20
Essays with Jay-Z to produce another remix album, entitled Colli¬sion Course. The album, which featured inter¬mixed lyrics and background tracks from both artists’ previous albums, debuted in November 2004. Shinoda also formed a new band, Fort Minor, as a side project. With the aid of Jay- Z, Fort Minor released its debut album, The Rising Tied, to critical acclaim. At the same time, the band’s relationship with Warner Bros. Records was deteriorating rapidly on ac¬count of several trust and financial issues. Af¬ter months of feuding, the band finally negoti¬ated a deal in December 2005. In December 2008, Digidesign gave the band the opportunity to preview the new Pro Tools 8 software. The experiment resulted in an in¬strumental song performed by Shinoda and Bourdon. In April 2009, Mike Shinoda revealed on his blog that Linkin Park will be working on the score for Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen with successful film composer Hans Zimmer. On May 7th, it was further confirmed that the song recorded for the film is titled “New Di¬vide,” and was released as a single on May 18th. A clip from the song can be heard 14 seconds into the new trailer. The music video for “New Divide” was released on June 12, 2009 and was directed by Mr. Hahn. On June 22, 2009, the band played a short set after the premiere of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The concert took play on the street in Westwood Village. In May 2009, Linkin Park announced that they were working on their fourth album which will be released in 2010, with the aim for it to be “genre-busting”. In 2010; the band re¬leased a new album “A Thousand Suns” with the genre metal. it consisted of title like “Blackout”, “Waiting for the end”, “Iridescent” which was used for the soundtrack of the ac¬tion film “Transformers 3: Dark of the moon” by Michael bay. Recently, the band launched a new album “Liv¬ing Things” with titles like “Burn it to the ground”, “Powerless”. mmm

Essays Child Friendly Education r Saurav K.C.
Current issue of Education basically in classroom is child friendly education. The child friendly education is child centered education. The whole education system, it should be child focused, based on the interest of the child and should try to find out the strength and weakness of an individual which can carry them towards their destination. The child friendly education is one of the crucial factors for quality education. A huge amount of investment has been done in education. Either it is done by parents of the students or by the Government. The return of this investment is good. It means the behavioural change in a child. Lots of time has been spent on education by parents, children and Government. It should be fulfilled by good education. Not only this, education is one of the crucial factors of development both to an individual and nation itself too. The educated, skillful and highly efficient people are always important for the country. The economic development of a country depends on it. But the countries like ours are having a problem of brain drain. To control this problem the child friendly education is a must. This can create a transformation to the children to work for the nation. If they sweat, that should be in our nation not foreign. They can use the natural resources in its optimum level. As we know that we are rich in natural resources. I am not only talking about the Water Resources of Nepal but also other resources that have not been explored yet that we have in our nation. We NEPALESE are behaving like people of CONGO. The people there are always engaged in war so the neighbouring countries are highly benefiting from their natural resources (the gems, stones basically). But there is a problem that, we are not utilizing it. We have not used our natural resources. If we utilize our natural resources in optimum level, we need not ask for support from other Rich countries. So child friendly education can be the one solution of our country. We have to think over it in time otherwise, we will have to face the same problem as Congolese people are facing these days. mmm
SOUL SUPERLEARNING r Sushant Sharma
We all as students are in regular process of learning. We have already been learning more than a decade and still have a long way to go on with our studies. We work hard and try to gain the most possible knowledge we can. But, the irony is that an average person like us uses only 1-3% of his brain. Think how cans a person gain 100% knowledge by using 1-3% of his brain. Actually the fact is that our brain has two hemispheres: the left brain and the right brain. The main work of left brain is to think, analyze and calculate whereas the right brain imagines and creates. The capacity of our left brain is 100% and our right brain accounts for 90% capacity. But, we mostly use our left brain and the use of right brain is almost nil. Moreover, the left brain of ours is also not fully utilized. Thus, 9799% of our brain remains fully unutilized. There is another fact that alarms us. It is that only 5% people become successful in their life. The way we learn, 95% of people become unsuccessful in their life. So, 5% rule the remaining 95% through their intelligence, power and creativity. Those 5% are the one who use their right brain which is much more powerful (in storage) than the left brain which we generally use. This super learning is all about using learning process much simpler through creativity and imagination. So, Albert Einstein said,” Imagination is much more powerful than knowledge. For knowledge is stimulating whereas imagination embraces our entire world, stimulation progress, giving birth to evolution. The concept of super learning education system is believed to be propounded in Bulgaria by Dr. Georgi Lozanov in the decade of 1970’s. As a doctor, Lozanov used to observe and treat the increasing mental disease and depression among the students. His attention was diverted to contemplate on the cause of such mental tensions. After a long scientific research, he found the cause of it to be "Didactogenic Syndrome" viz.
21 “Great minds discuss ideas, average mind discuss events and small mind discuss people. It’s up to you whether you prove your mind to be great, average or small.”-John Milton.
SOUL the cause of it was the wrong education system in which education is a burden for students. He insisted that students should be taught in such a way that they could get pleasure on learning in which he forwarded under a new methodology 'sugestopedia' or 'suggestology'. After several researches by the Russian and the American scientists, this method proved to be very effective and it was reformed as "speed learning" and somewhere "acceleration learning''. Finally it was named super learning. Super learning, in general is any system of accelerated learning that releases stress, maximize memory and potentials, work on both conscious and unconscious levels, enhances whole personality globally, improves health creativity and is enjoyable. Actually, super learning can be regarded as learning through imagination. It is not worthy to mention here that what we image is stored in our right brain which accounts for 95% capacity of our brain. So, we mostly don't forget what we learn in regular interval of time. Then a question definitely arises, “How to learn through imagination?" For this there are several skills of super learning like linking system, hooking system, phonetic system, symbolization, visualization, etc. It is not possible to explain one by one as bits sum up making an entire book. However super learning seminars could be helpful. Finally, I hope all the readers do change their reading habits. mmm

Essays Hostel Life r Utsav Neupane
One of the most interesting and unforgettable period of life that you can ever experience is the hostel life. Hostel is a private property of an individual or any academic institutions like school, college etc. where mostly students for far places with no house or rent to live in whereas in other cases they live for easy accommodation. Whatever the reason is, it’s sure that different nature students from different nooks and corners are grouped together in the hostel. For those who never had any experience of hostel environment, difficulties queue up for them until and unless they adapt to that situation. Faster they adapt, better is for them as with their every possible efforts, they can never witness the parental environment of home therein. After you adapt, the next thing you need to care is the friend circle. A good friend circle is always helpful and beneficial for you as you are supported by them in every cause. Instead a bad friend circle is always going to be harming you either in one way or the other especially when you are meritorious. This i.e. bad friend circle may lead you to the fake environment of satisfaction gained by the use of chewing nuts, smoking, drinking and even using drugs. In reverse situation, a good friend circle transforms a bad charactered, non-laborious and narcotics addicted student into a really nice guy. It is so important to have a friend circle as there already exist many friend circles. Specially, one should never try to have friendship with bad guys as no matter how much they make other believe that they will never be involved in them but those cunning fellows minds are gradually spoiled by the talks of those bad guys and eventually in opposite situation, no encystment occurs in them to oppose them from doing wrong deeds. Another important thing that you need
I am a source of satisfaction to him, a nurse, a piece of furniture, a woman—nothing more. -Leo Tolstoy
Essays to care about is about your roommates. Two or more close friends can be roommates as they know each other very well. If not, then you need to correctly read the behavior of your roommates so that you are able to adjust according to the situation. All above things come into consideration in hostels of academic institutions as you do not have other choice of hostel but in case of privates one, initially choosing of hostel come in consideration before taking above mentioned things in consideration. As hostel without drawbacks is not found, so you have to choose hostel with minimal drawbacks causing minimal effects. All the queries of the residues must be clarified with the hostel warden or chief during the selection of hostel. Being in hostel, you should never try to change your habit of studying and all the tasks should be done with more responsibilities as the expectations of your parents and others on you are at the peak. So, you should always make them feel proud. mmm

Be the Change You Want To See
r Sarthak Yadav
Change, change if we merely understand is the difference that we make or is made to us. Changes if we classify are only of two types: positive and negative. What may be the positive change for us may be negative change for others and vice-versa but change what we need today or what we want to make may be different tomorrow. Neglecting the political situation of our country, simply let us talk about the changes which we require or are required for us. The single step we put determines our fate, fate of all the things in the universe and that step is the change we make but it’s only that, we have to know how and where the step has to be put and evaluate how the step has determined our fate and everything around us. There is a quotation “There is light in everyone, there is darkness as well but it’s because of the darkness that we can see the light.” Our responsibility for today is to search the light in the darkness within and around us which inspires us to give our best in everything we do and someday we will definitely reach wherever we want to and till the day, keep searching for the light within oneself, keep inspiring oneself so that we will always remember the true self even after we have achieved our goal. Being the true self is the thing that is needed for us to reach our destiny. Do lose yourself and you will be lost in the world for now and forever. Always remember that whatever you do determines your fate and everything around you. Do what needs to be done at the right time, does it right and you will be there, where you want to, you are, you inspire to be. mmm Four steps to achievement: Plan purposefully. Prepare prayerfully. Proceed positively. Pur- 23 sue persistently.
SOUL A Better Life r Suyog Singh
You don’t like your life? Change it! Change your life for the better! Most people want to change , but have absolutely no idea how. Well, I’m here to help you with that. Here are some ways that I’ve read and applied in my life (or at least heard it works): 1. Accept Your Mistakes: You’re human. And we, humans, make mistakes. Accept what you did wrong and try to do better next time. No need to punish yourself forever. In fact, accepting your mistakes is the only way to make them disappear. 2. Forgive: Maybe you got hurt by somebody. People are making mistakes and if you can accept that for yourself, accept it for your friends too. In the end, all you need from them is their love. 3. Create a New Habit: We’re doing a lot of stuff on autopilot. Try to add new things to your life. Habits are powerful. Harness their energy for your own good. Start now! 4. Build Self Discipline: Don’t wait for people to impose discipline on you. Start early. Although it sounds a bit harsh, self discipline is a facilitator for many great things in your life. It’s hard to get but great to have. 5. Make New Friends: Reach out. Don’t be afraid. Establish new contacts. There’s more than just section “I” in SXC. The reward of having true, long-lasting friendship is worth all the potential rejection. 6. Keep a Journal: Write down your feelings, experience and things you want to change. It’s silent and effective. And all you need is pen and paper! 7. Learn to Take Risks: Your life may be boring and fade because… err, you made it like this? When was the last time you tried something really difficult? When was the last time you challenged the odds by doing something really risky? Do it now. 8. Find Reasons to Agree: We have this 24
Essays mindset of competition which makes to constantly argue over things. Well, stop that. You don’t have to force yourself into agreement, if it’s not the case, just trying to find some reasons will be enough. 9. Be Better, Not Perfect: Striving too much for perfection will ruin your life. It will wipe out all those little imperfections which are making you… human. Being better, on the other side, is rewarding. Look back at yesterday and just say: I’m Better! 10. Last but not the least just live your life the way you want. “Love the life you live and live the life you love.” mmm
Violence on Television and its Impact on Youth r Saugat Chapagain
Television, we thought, was invention for entertainment. No longer, I regret to say now that it is only a tool that breeds violence. What is the most violent scene that you have ever seen on TV? Is it murder? An assassination? A war film? We think we have forgotten them, but those images are in our memory for every now and then. What is harm? You may ask. The harm is that we are affected by the violence in more ways than one. Art imitates life and life imitates art. Children tend to imitate these violent scenes blindly without understanding danger. Will we be able to live in such society ruled by violence? Let’s pause for a while and think. Should we be passive and allow the idiot box to sow the seeds of violence in young minds, day in and day out? Let’s all vow, here and now, to put an end to this. Let’s vow not to watch channels and television shows which encourage violence in the name of entertainment and action. mmm

Essays My Funny Dream r Suvash Acharya
As usual, I had my meal at 8 o’clock and was ready to go to bed. As I reached my room and opened the door, I was shocked by the sight of so many ghosts in my room which were flying in the air and waiting for me. I was frightened. Then I started to run towards my parents’ room but the ghosts were chasing me. I reached my mother and told her about the ghosts. I was hoping that my mother would help me but instead of helping me she slapped me and said “Where are these ghosts? Do you think I am in the mood of joking when I’m tired all over? We’ll discuss this tomorrow, try to get some sleep for now.” and before I could say another word she was in deep sleep, snoring her way through the night. After that I looked back at the ghost, I saw that they were very happy thinking that there was no one to save me from them. Then I walked all around my house searching for a place where the ghosts wouldn’t reach and I would be safe. There was no place where the ghosts couldn’t reach me and I didn’t know what to do. Then I got out of my house, it was dark so I was not able to see anything, but because of my fear nothing went right, I got into the streets without thinking. As I ran through the streets I noticed that things were not in their usual places. All the lights were off. It was never like this. I could also see that all the people who used to be in their shops had vanished; all replaced by slimy, hideous, monstrous aliens. I could also notice that I was the one and only human in sight that was walking around. By the time, I had already forgotten about the ghosts. Yet to my horror, when I looked back again, they were still at my back. As I was looking backwards I didn’t notice a stone and so I tripped and abruptly fell down. All the ghosts came close to me, they were deciding which one would get a piece of me first and every muscle in my body came to a halt as if I was paralyzed. I was desperately trying to call out for help but
SOUL I couldn’t produce any sound; I was literally unable to speak. Then one of the ghosts came at me… I suddenly fell down from my bed and after thoroughly checking my house and the streets I came to my senses and realized that it was only a dream, my whole body was sweating because of the nerve wrecking fear I witnessed subconsciously in my Dream. Then I freshened myself up , haphazardly prepared for my college, managed gulp down some milk with a bowl of cereal and went to college with jitters all around, hoping; well actually assuring myself that there aren’t going to be no type alien abductions anytime soon.

Einstein –“People like us, who believe in physics, know that the distinction between past, present and future is only a stubbornly persistent illusion.” This means that time travel is possible. Then I go to bed after being in Facebook for next ten minutes. During holidays my routine ret transferred into 26

Don’t think I’m proud but also when i have a glance at my routine I think all people should respect me. Many people may think it’s just a lie no it is not except I left one thing and that is, songs which is played almost all time when I’m at home. Listening is very much important to me, as medicine to patient, as nature to poet, as boy to girl and girl to boy, as drug to addict, as lighter to cigarette. Many people may ask when you study. In my opinion it is very silly question as every know I go to college and stay there for more than seven point five hours and still ask me when do I study, idiots. My mom expects me to study for more than three hours at home per day. So disgusting, I’ve got only twenty four hours in a day out of which nine hours are utilized in sleeping, almost nine hours are wasted in process of college, then almost two hours are utilized eating, throwing and for a walk, and remaining four is utilized in Facebook. With such a busy routine where I hardly get time to do my practical, people expect me to study for three hours, its completely illegal, immoral, cruel and inhumane. What I think is scientist of earth should add some more hours and make it thirty or more it will ease everyone’s life. Husband can give extra time to his wife, father can give extra time to his children, students to study, and people like me to entertainment (Facebook). Furthermore what I think is not only the hours of a day but also days of week should be increased and so the holidays. This will be very much helpful to almost everyone. People will get more rest, father can give more time to his children, husband to wife, student to study and like always me to Facebook. mmm

SOUL Loath
r Subid Ghimire
The word “loath” meaning “to hate” is the thing that every person in this world adores to do. Loath has got so rampant that in the 21st century, love and peace has no significance. As stated by Socrates “From the deepest desires often comes the deadliest hate”, ardour inculcated in us by our society is the source of loath. When a child gets born he/she is oblivious of who he/she is, what his/her purpose of life, whom to love and care for but as the child grows up , his/her mind is distorted by the society. The society makes him/her aware of his parents, his/her relatives and induces him to have his love only for those people not for all the persons of the world explicitly mankind. The world has now got so competitive that even among the close ones, friends or relatives there is a scuffle to procure affluence and turn out to be somebody like engineer, doctor or pilot which is taken in high esteem by the society. Thus, the society where we are born and nurtured is the thing which instigates us to detest people because it induces us to have the feeling of jealousy pellucidly hatred to become successful. The society bestows reverence and success to people who are envious and avid at detesting people rather than to those who are amicable and humane. Thus all the people in this world are equal but the thing which provokes us to feign to be different is the society where we are nurtured. Albert Einstein has quoted “Heroism on command sense less violence and the entire loathsome nuisance that goes by the name of patriotism, how passionately I hate them.” Thus, Einstein hated the people who used to shudder at people and we are supposed to do the same. In my opinion, people who hate us won’t will until we loathe them and completely destroy ourselves because detesting people means detesting ourselves as we get distracted from 30
Essays the sole purpose of coming to Earth explicitly making generousness rife and becoming amicable to people ie. becoming Human beings. Thus, to make the word ‘loath’ sounds good and to start loving ‘loath’ we must initiate to detest the word loathe. If we want to loathe anything we should better loath the word ‘loath’ itself. mmm
The Time travel r Sudip Bhattarai
Time travel is an interesting topic that people often talk. People wish to go in their past and make their mistakes correct or go in the future to see the inventions of the future. The time travel is talked in many stories, film, and novels. In Hindu mythology ‘The Mahabharata’ mentions the story of the king Revaita who travelled to heaven to meet creator Brahma and is shocked to know that many ages had passed when he returned to the earth. Similarly, in many science fiction film which shows time travel in future or in their past. Time travel is the concept of moving between different points in a time in the similar manner to moving in two different points in the space. The travel can hypothetically include moving backward in past or moving forward towards future. The theories of special and general relativity allow methods or forms of travel in the past of future. If someone is able to move information or matter from one point to another point then according to special relativity the signal or object could move backward in time. In the case of hypothetical signal moving faster than light, there would some frames always be in which the signal could be received before it was send. So the signal could be said to have moved backwards in time. According to special theory it would take an infinite amount of energy to accelerate a slower object to the speed of light. But the theory doesn’t forbid the theoretical possibility to move faster than light at all time. But it is considered impossible to move with velocity greater than light.
Success does not consist in never making blunders, but in never making the same one a second time.
Essays Another way of travelling time is by using worm holes. Worm holes are a hypothetical warped space-time which is obtained by Einstein field equations of general relativity. But the worm holes are very small millions of fragments of a millimetre which can’t be used for travel unless it is made wide enough called traversable wormhole. A time travel time machine using a wormhole would work if an end of wormhole is accelerated to the nearest velocity of light and another end is brought back to the point of origin. Or, alternatively it can be made working by moving the worm hole within the gravitational field of an object with high gravitational field or moving it nearer to a black hole and bringing it back to the initial point. In both the cases one end of the worm hole would have lesser age than other end? But with this method we cannot move far back in time before the machine was made. So Stephen Hawking says, “A time machine will be built someday, but has not been built yet so the tourists from the future cannot reach this far back time. There are other ways of travelling time in the future. If we travel in a spaceship at a speed near to the speed of light and return to the earth after some years then the earth would have passed through several years. Another way could be taking spaceship near an object having high gravitational intensity like black whole. Due to the curve in space time the black hole makes, the astronauts in the spaceship will travel in time. But there are many limitations of time travel. One of the main paradoxes is the one called grandfather paradox of a scientist. If a scientist travels back in time using any method and then kills his body of the previous time then his existence would also not be possible. This doesn’t give meaning. Though there are applicable way of traveling in the future, there is no way to return back and the method of traveling in future is much complex and it requires a vast technological development and huge amount of energy to do it. So, in present world there is no possibility to have a time travel. mmm
SOUL Do I Believe In Re-Incarnation? r Yuddha sharma
Reincarnation, a broad sensed word shortly defined as the rebirth of a person with same soul where morphology may either be the same or be different. Reincarnation is determined by remembrance of past events which have not yet even happened in his/her life but with someone else who doesn’t exist now. Since, the evolution of the human world, the word ‘reincarnation’ has always been a word of imagination and a subject of contradiction between the people of religious and scientific belief. Talking about myself, being a science student, I don’t believe in reincarnation. How could a person be alive again after dying once? This is 21st century, the time of Modern science and technology. If I agree about reincarnation, people will think I have gone out of my mind. Science teaches a body lives because of metabolic activities carried out by cells releasing energy. If a person dies, he is buried or burnt and is mixed with soil. There is no proof of releasing a person’s soul from a body after death. But there are many telling and happenings observed in our society about reincarnation. Even in the present world, there are some people who can explain about the events or incidents of their pasts which had really never taken place in their lives but know about it. I get in dilemma thinking whether I should believe in reincarnation or not. My heart says there is whereas my mind claims for a proof to believe it. This conflict in my mind always makes me curious about the word ‘reincarnation’. But I run according to time, and I think according to science. Finally my mind thinking wins and I don’t believe in battle. mmm

SOUL I am All rSuman Neupane
Who are all? The question arises from one of all says by all. But the one does not think so. He is arrogant though by them. He believes in himself. However, all does Hail to the superiors of them. But, he is his own superior. He has to go with him. But, all are social, moral and good in the world where there is an autocracy on bowing and following. He likes to walk along thread. All sees so. There exists typical mystery. It has become a habit to be habituated. Now, you cannot digest stone. That is why you are walking along the path. Revolution is never small but comes from small by small. That is what; he is trying to be habituated with. He came to this world. Let us not regard the world, instead let him be regarded. He saw what world is comprised of. He began to percept and understands the world by the contribution of all. Even in this case as well, he is benefitted. Let us not forget to consider him, rather than others. A question bothers such every him, which is “Is there world beyond the five sense organs?” The short answer is “No” though many mysteries exist in this world. The greatest mystery is you and everything within you. It is your sense organ which by which the world is determined to you. Are all good? It is within them, how they think of themselves. It is natural to want justice from others’ rather than concreting themselves on what they are. So, since a long time it has become tradition to struggle for satisfaction. A reality from which we all are unknown. Struggle happens in physical world if there is spirit- a real hero- then there will be an enjoyment which is the strongest bond of satisfaction. A question may arise supporting the time, far more opposing satisfied one i.e. “Is he running after the time or the time is making him run after?” The logical answer for the understanding of all is ‘he’. But what the matter is composed of cannot be explained logically. Furthermore, everybody gets hurt by the logic to be meditative, which has a bulge of description. “Would here be time for him if we were not here?” The question is again paradoxical. The word ‘if’ concerning with time is again a key to dissatisfaction. Talking about out of time and thinking ‘if’ i.e. time exists, is indeterminate form; more complex than the undefined one. Let 32
Essays us be clear that the question is beyond the world and judging one of its most important components. All say “Time made me liberated, Time made me suppressed.” But actual fact is not the time that made them so; they were the one responsible to be liberator and suppressor. They are unknown from the fact that “To live is to be free of time and when they say ‘if’, they are introducing time and the time is the greatest sorrow”. My Sister r Sisam Shrestha
Having a sister as a sibling may seem like a blessing to many girls out in the world. But as for me, the innocent 16 years old teen, having an 18 years old sister is like a day in WWII. And why wouldn’t it be? Only a little disagreement between us and we quickly turn into India and Pakistan. Be it a argue over the remote control or over a holiday destination, every single argument changes into a fight and every fight results in us getting served a big heap of our mother’s scolding .And when the cold war begins between us. The first one to break the silence is often the one responsible for the fight but due to the infinite ego packed in us the colds war continues for hours , until the magical moment when one of us actually forget about the fight and starts acting normal again, weird but true. regardless the numerous fights we have the fact remains that she is indeed my sister and no one in the entire world can ever understand me, my crazy jokes and my out of the world behaviors as she can. She’s been there in through every thick and thin of my life and for this very reason I truly love her. Anyhow, I ‘m sure as soon as I finish writing this article I’m about to get involved in another fight with her. mmm

Essays New Nepal r Saurav Parajuli
20th January 2028, my 30th birthday. I was waiting for somebody on top of Dharahara looking through the telescope for time check in Ghantaghar. Oh, I just forget to give my introduction. Well, I am very important personality, like Barrack Obama in my days. Guess who? I am the president of Nepal, Dr. Saurav Parajuli. My friends of St. Xavier’s College made Nepal so developed that it is one of the powerful nations in the world. Somewhere a cool wind gave me a feeling that I do not have to wait anymore. In no time, my friends came in a minispeed rocket. Tears rolled down my cheeks. You think that tears are for my friends. That’s not. These drops are for my country. My country, Nepal was small but was silver, today it is small but it’s platinum. You can’t imagine how much Nepal has grown as a country. In my presidency, about a month ago, Nepal gave hundred billion dollars aid to United Kingdom for the last earthquake there. I have also cleared the entire loan taken by Nepal 15 years ago. Now, Nepal has a capacity of one lakh megawatt electricity. This was just a simple idea about how much is Nepal developed now. First of all we celebrated my birthday. Then, I asked my friends whether to have a world tour but they replied that they were bored of world tour and they wanted to have Nepal tour instead. So we start our tour. First of all, we went to Dashrath stadium. There was nice preparation for FIFA world cup 2030. Kathmandu is not Kathmandu in my days. It is now popular as ‘The Clean City’ as well as ‘The City of Temples’. What a fresh and green environment! There is not any single difference between Kathmandu and the villages. Village is also as developed as Kathmandu. I forgot to tell you about the religious Bagmati. It is so pure that you can even drink the water. The
SOUL environment specialist who made this drastic change in the environment is my friend. Did you see that big building? That’s the place where we can start our new life. I just want to make you clearer. This is Shahid Gangalal Memorial Hospital. Senior doctors here are also my friends of St. Xavier’s College. The heart patients who come there are satisfied with their new life. Ah… I just remember one thing. Some days before ex-president of America, Barrack Obama came to Nepal for his treatment of ‘Heart Attack’. These doctors gave Obama a new life by their successful treatment. I think you all got surprised by looking that building. That building is Singh Durbar II. It was designed by my friend of physical group of St. Xavier’s College. Not only this building but he has uesd his skills in Sagarmatha Mahal, Toeffl Tower, Erect tower of Misa etc. One of my friends wanted to visit our college which has made him what he is now. So we decided to visit our college. Now we came to our college. I went to my class where I used to study. My college was also very developed. Teachers were teaching with the help of projectors and students were learning using laptops. We reach the class of Shishir sir. He was teaching Meaning into Words to the juniors. I wished good afternoon to sir and I was getting out of my class. Suddenly, “Hey boy, why are you sleeping? You must study hard for your good results. This is not the way...”, I heard Shishir sir scolding me. I yawned. Shishir sir was teaching Meaning into Words in the class. My brave friends who developed Nepal were laughing at me. I realized that I was not in 2028 but 2012 instead. Nowadays, leaders of the nations and politicians sucked the country and made it valueless. It is becoming copper from silver. I must do something for my country. We are the ones who is responsible to develop Nepal. Lastly, 2028 was just a dream.

Essays William Wordsworth r Uplav Bhandari
William Wordsworth (17701850), English poet, one of the most accomplished and influential of England’s romantic poets, whose theo ries and style created a new tradition in poetry. Wordsworth was born on April 7, 1770, in Cockermouth, Cumberland, and educated at Saint John’s College, University of Cambridge. He developed a keen love of nature as a youth, and during school vacation periods he frequently visited places noted for their scenic beauty. In the summer of 1790 he took a walking tour through France and Switzerland. After receiving his degree in 1791 he returned to France, where he became an enthusiastic convert to the ideals of the French Revolution (1789-1799). His lover Annette Vallon of Orleans bore him a daughter in December 1792, shortly before his return to England. Disheartened by the outbreak of hostilities between France and Great Britain in 1793, Wordsworth nevertheless remained sympathetic to the French cause. Wordsworth’s income from his writings amounted to little, but his financial problems were alleviated for a time when in 1795 he received a bequest of £900 from a close friend. Thereupon he and his sister, Dorothy Wordsworth, went to live in Racedown, Dorsetshire. The two had always enjoyed a warmly sympathetic relationship, and Wordsworth relied greatly on Dorothy, his devoted confidante, for encouragement in his literary endeavors. Her mental breakdown in later years was to cause him great sorrow, as did the death of his brother John. William had met the poet Samuel Taylor Coleridge, an enthusiastic admirer of his early poetic efforts, and in 1797 he and Dorothy moved to Alfoxden, Somersetshire, near Coleridge’s home in Nether Stowey. The move marked the beginning of a close and enduring friendship between the po-
ets. In the ensuing period they collaborated on a book of poems entitled Lyrical Ballads, first published in 1798. As he advanced in age, Wordsworth’s poetic vision and inspiration dulled; his later, more rhetorical, moralistic poems cannot be compared to the lyrics of his youth, although a number of them are illumined by the spark of his former greatness. Between 1814 and 1822 his publications included The Excursion (1814), a continuation of The Prelude but lacking the power and beauty of that work; The White Doe of Rylstone (1815); Peter Bell (1819); and Ecclesiastical Sonnets (1822). Yarrow Revisited and Other Poems appeared in 1835, but after that Wordsworth wrote little more. Among his other poetic works are The Borderers: A Tragedy (1796; published 1842), Michael (1800), The Recluse (1800; published 1888), Laodamia (1815), and Memorials of a Tour on the Continent (1822). Wordsworth also wrote the prose works Convention of Cintra (1809) and A Description of the Scenery of the Lakes in the North of England (1810; reprinted with additions, 1822). Much of Wordsworth’s easy flow of conversational blank verse has true lyrical power and grace, and his finest work is permeated by a sense of the human relationship to external nature that is religious in its scope and intensity. To Wordsworth, God was everywhere manifest in the harmony of nature, and he felt deeply the kinship between nature and the soul of humankind.By 1810 his viewpoint was staunchly conservative. He was disillusioned by the course of events in France culminating in the rise of Napoleon; his circle of friends, including the Scottish author Sir Walter Scott, also influenced him in the direction of orthodoxy. In 1842 he was awarded a government pension, and in the following year he succeeded Southey as poet laureate. Wordsworth died at Rydal Mount, April 23, 1850, and was buried in the Grasmere churchyard mmm

SOUL The Role Of Youth For The Development Of New Nepal r Ram BabuMagar
The youth are the backbone of the nation. They are the pillars of upon which the edifice of the nation stand. The infrastructure development and peace building work of the nation depend tremendously on the contribution of enthusiastic; energetic; optimistic and self-motivated youth of the nation in particular. The youth in this respect have considerably more responsibilities and have a pivotal role to play to bring and maintain perpetual peace and harmony in the country like Nepal where a democratic setup requires a mass participation to accomplish and access to this mission. With the immense advancement of the science and technology; the people in this globalize world have been facing the menace in the terms of economic development; social reformation and educational attainment. The Dead Do Not Have Their Shadows r Saugat Chapagain
These days I get lost like never before; I feel numb, lonely and disregarded in my own family. The chair where I used to sit and dine has been removed. I feel empty when my mother calls my brothers to eat and forgets to call me. I wonder what has happened to my family which seems to have forgotten me. Why am I treated this way? I can’t understand that and feel so bad. The flowers in the garden which smiled for me have now withered away. My father forgets to greet me when he comes back from office, even if I stand near him. Even my room has turned into a guest room. The darkness of the night seems to call me, to think through. Yes, I cannot tolerate this anymore. I creep outside, determined to find out that missing gap, that day, that incident, that moment which seems to have been erased from my memory. It was a full-moon night, so it was bright. Deep in thought, I walked on, until I realized something and looked at the moon. It was still bright, it was shining and smiling as before but not for me, (I said to myself). Suddenly, I realized that there was no shadow of mine. I turned round and round in vain and then it dawned on me. And, I remembered my mother saying, “The dead do not have their shadows ---.” And, I realized it! mmm

Along the history of the earth r Ayash Twayana
Earth and the universe are old than anyone thinks. It has a reach history in itself, Then it makes us thinks “Are we the only living be¬ings?”, “Is this the only planet in the universe of unimaginable size?” “Are we the supreme being in this world?” But some say we may not. Does not it strike your head when we say that, it took millions and billions of years to shape this Earth to a stage it is today? Wouldn’t any other planet have gone through the same changes or may be a place already has, not necessarily now but many millions of years ago than ours has. All hanging on a maybe. Let’s say that life has existed on other plan¬et many light years away from our earth, our solar system, our galaxy. And let’s say it has existed there from millions of years before life existed in our planet. Then wouldn’t it be possible that, that existing extraterrestrial life could be much more advanced and have technology that exceeds the understanding of us human beings of earth. We are a tribe advanced being in this universe and we are curious to find beings other like us in other places in the universe. Wouldn’t that exist¬ing extraterrestrial life be curious to find us? Wouldn’t they be using their advanced technology to find us? Or maybe they have already. Many people in our world believe that we have been visited by extraterrestrial be¬ings in our early prehistory and our ances¬tors were guided by these so called ancient aliens or ancient astronauts. Some writers have proposed that intelligent extraterres¬trial beings have visited Earth in early pre¬history and made contact with humans or early prehistoric humans. And the entire ancient
SOUL alien theorist suggests that this contact in¬fluenced the development of human cultures, technologies and religions. All these people believe that every god worshiped and found in ancient scripts in different parts and reli¬gion of the world are extraterrestrial beings who contacted our ancestors and gave them knowledge but our ancestors considered these being in a wrong way and considered their advanced technology as divine powers and magic because that was the only way they could express that situation. Some of the people who have proposed these theory are Erich von Däniken, Giorgio A. Tsoukalos, Zecharia Sitchin,Robert K. G. Temple,David Icke and Peter Kolosimo. Erich von Daniken has a leading proof of this theory in his 1968 best-selling book “Chariots of the Gods”. In his views certain artifacts and monumental constructions have required a more advanced technological ability in their construction than that which was available to the ancient cultures who constructed them. Von Däniken maintains that these artifacts were constructed either directly by extraterrestrial visitors or by humans who learned the necessary knowledge from said visitors. These include Stonehenge, Pumapunku, the Moai of Easter Island, the Great pyramid of Giza and the ancient baghdad electric batteries. In many of the ancient scripts and holy book like bible, Mahabharata and different Vedas we can find the presence of extraterrestrial beings with their advanced technology like bimanas, lightning, etc. which are used by them for war. Many places on earth have such magnificent artifacts that we can say that we were visited by extraterrestrial beings. Many of those places are Palaeolithic cave paintings. Won-

Other paintings also resemble flying saucers too. Another magnificent place which resembles the work of ancient astronauts is the Nazca lines which are hundreds of huge ground drawings etched into the high desert of southern Peru. Some are stylized animals and humanoid figures, while others are merely straight lines hundreds of meters long. Such lines cannot be seen from the ground but when seen from a height makes the sense. Many ancient alien theorist suggest how did ancient people make these without seeing it as while making it, it would require to see the whole ground. Many places on earth where structures that are breathe taking could not just have been made by ancient humans without any form of technology. Those structures would require modern technology and large amount of man¬power. So, what was that made those breath taking structures? Were those ancient aliens as the ancient aliens’ theorist believed? Though the theory of ancient aliens is a catching theory it has been not taken serious by academics and scholars. So, this theory is considered as a science fiction. But could this theory be real and could the explana¬tion of this theory that ancient aliens have visited earth in early history be real. Then would these aliens return to earth, if they returned what would, they do. Would they co-operate with us or strike a war with this world. This theory is explained by a T.V series named Ancient aliens by History Channel which can found in series and available in YouTube. mmm 38
Essays A True Friend… r Sushila Sipai

As it’s difficult to let the cat out of the bag, it’s difficult to select a true friend among many friends around. You need only a true friend rather than just friends, so it has been said, “One friend in life is much, two are many, three are hard to find”, and what it talks about is the true friend. But who is a true friend? Someone who listens to you and understand you before you speak! Someone with whom you can share everything you have! Someone who supports you in every difficulties and someone who simply takes care of you! A true friend is the one who is the best of all. His/her support can lead you to your success. His/her thoughts can work out as inspirations. His/her failure can make you weep through your heart and success can make you fly high up in the sky. However, one can’t get all these qualities. Therefore, to develop such qualities, the one you need is your own hand. It depends upon how you are, and what you give is what you get. So, let’s not forget these things. If you need a true friend, be a true friend by yourself. The friends come out to you as per they percept from you. So, be honest, loyal and faithful to him/her. No feelings of anger, revenge and hatred! What you need is love! Trust yourself to trust others. Know yourself to know others. If you can be a true friend, then you can definitely get a true friend. mmm

STORIES Love Is Really Blind r Sital Chand
26th August 2012
For me, she was probably unlike others; she was the one whom the god created in leisure. It was true that I liked her ever since I was in 6th standard when she first came in our little school and sat beside me. Those called-handsome used to surround her all the times trying to flatter her while I, pretending to read books on my bench, used to listen her and get jealous of those so-called handsome ones. While in the breaks, they used to push me against the wall calling me a bookworm and sat near her I could do nothing except pretending to read. She was the only one I used to show my answer copies and even in S.L.C. Since, she was friend of mine only during exams, I even showed her answers in entrance at St. Xavier’s, but that didn’t help. So, she went to another college while I had to be at St. Xavier’s. And today, after one month, we met. I had secret in my heart for 4 years, so I burst it out in a shy manner. Of course, she replied no and treated me so badly. She said that showing ID of St. Xavier’s may matter in exam but not in friends’ circle. More than that, she didn’t wanted to be the issue of laughter among her friends since, I was only a bookworm. I was only an answer sheet of exam paper to her. Then, I went to a drugstore but they said age-limit doesn’t allow me to buy poison. 27th August 2012
It happened all yesterday and I’m sad. Its Monday – our chemistry practical class is today. I stole the KCN from the lab. I drank it all that night. And then I slept, hardly. Someone in white dress said that I can’t go up high up where there is only happiness; because suicide was a crime. But what could I do, I had to remain on earth. 28th August 2012
SOUL Ambulance arrived. My body was put in and I-myself was aside; perhaps I was not alive, anymore. I could see my mom and sister crying loud as the bed rushed in emergency room with my body. Nobody was allowed in even I couldn’t go in. I tried to convince my mom but alas, she could neither see nor hear me. Finally, the red light was turned off. The doctor came out with sad news – I was no more. That night my whole family was crying for me. They even didn’t know why that happened, why it all happened. 29th August 2012
I was no more. So, I went to see if she was in sorrow, too. Just as I reached her, she received a call from one of my dearest friend that I was dead. She then seemed to be sorry but as she ended call, her sad face changed to normal. Oh My Goss, she was pretending. That bitch, she was happy. 01st October 2012
It’s been a month now, and my family still is sad, still is crying for me, for the dearest one in their family. My mom wakes up at midnight and cries for me and often faints. My sister misses the wonderful moments we used to have together and cries for me. I’ve even seen my brother, who used to bit me all the time, pretending to be stronger in front of others but crying alone, hiding. My father tries to sweep the tears of others but in real, he cannot bind his tears often. And that girl still is happy. So, you’ve got a precious life. Don’t ruin it. Love your family which loves you the most and can’t bear your departure. Maybe that’s why, there is a saying “Don’t choose someone whom you love, choose someone who loves you”. Even now, I regret why I committed suicide, why I did this, why I did this... mmm

SOUL A Supernatural Story rSahul Kharel
It was a cold night in January when I was driving my car back to my house from work. I worked in a bank as a bank manager. I lived alone in my house for my parents were dead a few years ago. I rarely received any guests in my house. That night as I was driving back, I saw a young lady standing beside a lamp post. She looked rather worried and sad. There was nobody so I decided to check. I stopped in front of her and asked her, “Can I help you, miss?” She looked at me and smiled. She replied, “I need to go to the central hospital right now. My father is really sick and is admitted there. But there are no vehicles around.” I paused for a moment and asked her if I could take her to the hospital as it was on the way to my house. She agreed and got into my car and we headed for the hospital. She looked like a girl of perhaps 25. I looked at her, she was pretty, charming and beautiful. Her low voice was far more pleasant than the best music on earth. Her face was charming and innocent and her long black hair was really beautiful. There was something special about her that made me look at her every time. I wanted to ask her questions about her father and her family and in fact about herself. But she wasn’t in a mood to talk and to answer my questions. She kept on looking at her watch and I thought she really was in a hurry. So, I accelerated my car and soon we reached the hospital. She thanked me and hurried in. I left the hospital and drove to my house. I thought of her the whole time as I drove to my house. When I reached my house and as I was getting out of the car I noticed a card in my car. I looked at it and it was the card of the beautiful girl whom I had met. I was happy thinking that I’ll meet her again to return her card. Her address was given in the card, so I decided to visit her to return the card. Next day, I went to 40
STORIES the place written in her card and luckily I met her outside her house. I returned her the card and she thanked me. She again thanked me for helping her last night. I wanted to spend some more time with her so I asked her if we could go for a lunch. She agreed and we went to a nearby restaurant for lunch. We talked with each other and I came to know that she was a student of medicine. She didn’t tell me anything about her family nor did she ask me about mine. She talked with me as if she knew me for a long time. We also exchange our phone numbers. Then we parted from each other but she refused to get dropped in my car. So I went back to my house. The whole night I spent time thinking about her. We met each other every day and went to different places together. I didn’t realize it but I had started to love. Then, one day I told her that I loved her. I was very happy when she told me that she loved me too. I couldn’t sleep the whole night just thinking of her. Then for many days, she didn’t call me. When I tried to call her, her cell phone was switched off. Luckily she had given me the number of her house, so I called. An unknown voice answered it and asked if I could talk to my friend. The person laughed and told that she had died a year ago! He told me that her husband had an affair with another girl so she had committed suicide a year ago. I broke when I heard that. I wanted to make sure that my friend was the girl the man was talking of. So, I visited her house and I was finally convinced that she was the one who had died a year ago. My mind got totally blank. I couldn’t know what was happening around me. I had lost my senses and my mind. I couldn’t believe what had happened to me for the last few weeks. Was it really a ghost why did she choose me to spend time with? I never knew who the girl whom I met was or what she wanted from me. I went to all the places where we went together but I couldn’t find her anywhere. My first love turned out to be a spirit whom I lost forever. mmm

Life, Warmth of Fire r Subash Basnet
My childhood had just risen up from my mother’s lap when I first saw her. A car was honking in my neighbor’s house. I peeped through the hole of the wall to see who had come to the house of two old grandparents’ who loved me like their own grandson. I saw a girl getting out of the car. The cheerful, beautiful girl plunged straight into her grandfather’s chest. I was very happy as I had no one to play with. Later, I found out that her father got transferred to our village from the governmental bank. I would feel shy to talk to her when I would go to her house. The grandmother would always tease us as we were of same age. Later we slowly began talking due to the force of grandmother. Her name was Pratikshya, maybe God had taken long time to create her. We began playing almost every day. When we got little bigger, we started playing along with sharing thoughts. We used to study in the same school. We grew and her beauty and smile got better and better. I could not tolerate some bad guys teasing her. I was caught fighting for her many times with those guys. She was so friendly with everybody in school that I would feel jealous. I didn’t know if she knew I loved her. Every day we would go to school and come home together. We were the best friends as told by her and I too felt that. Gathering all my courage from my birth, I proposed her on the Valentine’s Day of 2068. I had a fear that I would lose my friend but she accepted my proposal. That was the happiest day of my life. But my happiness lasted only one year. After we completed SLC, we enjoyed a lot. Tears roll down my cheek remembering those moments and not finding her beside me. After SLC result was published, I was little disappointed but she was very happy as she had topped the school. My disappointment found happiness with her happiness. She threw a big party in her great accomplishment. We talked whole night till 1 am. I went house with my parents. Next day, I wanted to take Pratikshya to the
SOUL park nearby our school in my brand new cycle. But, I don’t know why my cycle didn’t run. Meanwhile, unexpected rain hit the ground with a fierce wind. I thought of taking my umbrella but the umbrella broke due to the fierce wind. Thinking my fate was bad that day, I went to TV room to watch some films. But as soon as I switched on my TV, I saw flash news that a girl while going to meet her relatives and give laddoos to them in occasion of her good grades in SLC met an accident with her cousin brother safe. I was shocked when I saw Pratikshya’s name flashing in the TV screen along with our school’s name. I didn’t believe it and started thinking about other Pratikshya’s in our school but could not get any. I rushed to the hospital and found out that she was already dead. Her parents were there crying. I quietly went out of the hospital and came home crying all the way. My world went blind. I couldn’t utter a word. I couldn’t feel anything. My heart pounded so hard that it would blast any time. I didn’t eat for many days. Later, I got admitted to St. Xavier’s College. I started my college life but every day I would pray to god to keep her happy. When I felt like meeting her I would peep through the same hole in the wall. I laughed sometimes thinking about the silliest things we did, I smiled many times unconsciously thinking about her smile and cried sometimes thinking about her. As Bhakta Raj Acharya has said through of his songs, “Life is the flame of fire and also the warmth of fire.” I am too moving forward thinking that life is good if we take inspiration from our past. I don’t hurt myself now rather I take inspirations from our love. I pray to God not only for her happiness but also other people’s happiness. I don’t want to burn in the flame of fire rather take the warmth of the fire. So, live the life with love because love is the source of inspiration for better life. I thank God for sending Shivam Kharga in my life. He has always been best friend to me and has taught me to live my new life to live in absence of her. mmm

SOUL A Lesson to Remember r Simran Shahi
Once, a newly married couple came to settle in the city, Kathmandu. They started living in an apartment near Ring road. The husband got a job in a bank. One morning, when they were having breakfast, the wife looked at the window and saw a lady hanging clothes in the house opposite to their apartment. “Look honey! The lady doesn’t know how to wash clothes. Her clothes are still dirty!” The husband remained silent. The next morning the same thing happened. The wife commented “She hasn’t improved a bit!” This continued for several days but the husband said nothing. One morning the husband woke up early and cleaned the window pane. That morning, as they had their breakfast, the wife looked at the window and said “Look, she has finally improved.” Her husband replied, “No honey, it wasn’t the lady. It was our window.” The wife remained silent. This short story teaches us that the image that we make inside our mind depends on us, ourselves. It’s our attitude that matters. The positive image of other people is created by our positive judgment towards them. Sometimes we, ourselves may be wrong but our view towards others must be clean. “The world is a flower in the eyes of a flower and the world is a thorn in the eyes of a thorn.” mmm

I don’t know why I had been expecting so much from you……….after all you were just a virtual friend. 4 days of talk 4 nights of fun and I thought you were someone special. But the talks with you were simply out of this world. You made me feel what moon shaped lips look like. Every night I used to wait for you. I never thought that Facebook could make me feel as I’m in the air. August 9 It was just a comment on my Facebook post that made me add you to my friend list. I was just trying to make up new friends when I added you. The first talk between us was rather unforgettable, not because of the greatness of our talk but the argument between us. You were the first girl I had talked to in the college. I was so amazed as you were just like a known girl. You were talking to me like I had some unfinished business with you in the past. I was not happy with the talk between us so I said sorry and I left. August 10 I viewed your photos. You were simply awesome. God had made you in some style. I just real¬ized what a blunder I had done. Now I was in a league of impressing you. I was just checking’ my emails when I got a message from you. It was around 1.30am I thought I was the only one who was a vampire but you were on too wak¬ing up at night. The interaction between us that night was a great one. Both of us talked up to 3am when we realized we had to go to college the following day. I was so happy to talk with you. The next day I searched for you in the col¬lege but I did not recognize you. Anyways there was Facebook which was the only link between us. I found you online that night also we had talk the talks were not of serious things but unnecessary stuffs that made me resemble you with me. From this day on we had been chatting with each other every night. I see our talks being greatly
SOUL matched. I don’t know if it is just a co incidence nor is there a connection between us. You had taken me to another world. I don’t know about you but I was just happy with your company. Every time I logged in I was in search of you, if you had done something new. I wanted to come nearer and nearer to you. I tried many things but we had talked so much on Facebook that there was nothing to talk about. I ignored eve¬ryone when I was chatting with you. I did not want anything except you. I was obsessed with you. But the real and virtual worlds are really different. Everywhere you went I followed. Sometimes I thought you would get angry so I suppressed my feelings. Many of my friends had realized that there had been something between you and me. I just laughed at it and pretended as there was nothing. I saw you every day in the college; I thought that I was not good enough for you. But was I really in love??? Or was it just some kind of obsession??? For the first days I thought Facebook was so great but now I realized it was really unreliable. Few days ago you made me realize that I was just a time pass for you. Facebook was just a site for entertainment which you had complete¬ly reversed for me. First I flirted with you then u became my crush …now the titanic of my life is sinking. I had told you everything because I trusted you. Now you have just chopped my heart into pieces. It has been a long time since I typed lol. I was just a weeping baby. You were so close to me but the closeness is pricking me now. 25th September I am writing this article for the class magazine not for anyone else but for you. This is a message for you. SOUL A Trip To Sangha
rSuvash Acharya r Shashank Karki r Uplav Bhandari
It was about 3 months of college. We the students had just been known to each other. But we were just formal friends. We just met in the class outside we were unknown. As we were science students, there was no time for entertainment. As more than 50% of us were from out of the valley, includ¬ing me, we wanted to explore some places in the valley. So we made a plan to go to Sangha. The plan was made by me and Shashank. As the first term was arriving we postponed it for the day just after the end of the first terminal exam. After a long hardship the exam were over, on the 13th of September we planned to go to Sangha. At first there were about 30 people who wanted to go to Sangha but at the day only 8 friends appeared. Some said they had meetings of USM, SET, some said they were not allowed by their parents. The girls said that they could not climb the steep hills, this was the funniest excuse. The day was holiday on the occasion of Teej. We gathered at the college at about 9.30 am. At 9.40 we took a bus going towards Banepa. The jour¬ney in the bus was very much fun. We took the last seat and just had funny talk. We also cheated the bus driver. It was a 1 and a half hour’s journey that seemed like few minutes with the company of friends. None of us knew that place but we asked here and there and reached our destination. It was a steep climb that was also some kind of fun. From the bus also we had seen an immense image of lord Mahadev. We were amazed. Sangha, a small place in Bhaktapur, had the tallest statue of lord Mahadev. All of us were clicking our cameras. We found out that its construction had been started in 2006 and after 4 years in 2010 its construction was over. The place is world famous in Nepal for the spicy pau. We purchased total pau of 150 rupees. We then got to the statue. There was a 44
Tours priest distribut¬ing some Prasad we took it. I wanted more of it. We took lots of photos there. We got to a resort just above the statue. We had to pay 100 rupees per person to enter. The view made us realize it was worth it. We just wandered there. Also we went to the swimming pool and swim for a while. Then the guard told us we had to leave. It was not a good moment. We were just leaving when we had an idea to get something as a sign of remembrance. So we went to a street shop on the way, there was a Indian shopkeeper. We de¬cided to buy an armband for everyone but he re¬fused to reduce 5 rupees on them so we bargained with him. But he kept on refusing. The discussion had turned into a complete mess. We did not buy anything from him. On the way down we asked for ice creams, the more down we went, we found that the price kept decreasing. At the gate of the exit we got ice cream for rs.15 which we had been told to be rs.40 at the top. Finally we got outside the door and went to a res¬taurant for something to eat. We got in a sekuwa special restaurant and ordered some newari food. The service was great there. We had ordered a choila (newari buff item) khaja set. But we could eat everything except the choila. We were laugh¬ing at ourselves for we had ordered a thing we were not aware of. Finally we were on the course of returning; again we took a bus and went to our homes. But as soon as I reached home I was unhappy as we separated but I was excited about the fact that we would go on another trip some day and invite some more friends. mmm

Hitler never allowed anyone to see him naked or bathing. He refused to use cologne or scents of any sorts on his body. No matter how much warm he felt, Hitler would never take off his coat in public. In 1923, Nazi Press Secretary Dr.Sedgwick tried to convince Hitler to get rid of his trademark mustache or grow it normally. Hitler answered, “Don’t worry about my mustache. If it is not the fashion now, it will be later because I wear it.” His favorite topics include: “When I was a soldier,” “When I was in Vienna,” “When I was in prison,” and “When I was the leader in the early days of the party.” If Hitler begins speaking about Wagner and the opera, no one dares interrupt him. He will often sermonize on this topic until his audience falls asleep. Hitler has no interest in sports or games of any kind and never exercised, except for an occasional walk. He paces frequently inside rooms, always to the same tune that he whistles to himself and always diagonally across the room, from corner to corner. Hitler loves the circus. He takes real pleasure in the idea that underpaid per formers are risking their lives to please him. He went to the circus on several occasions in 1933 and sent extremely expensive chocolates and flowers to the female performers. Hitler even remembered their names and would worry about them and their families in the event of an accident. mmm

Painful Decisions Made by Eagle for Survival r Abinash Gupta
This is the story of the Eagle’s life. An eagle is a struggling creature that has to do the effort of rebirth in a single life. It has got the patience to survive. An eagle can live up to 70 years and in those 70 years it has to take many hard decisions. In the first 40 years, it has a normal life as any bird but after that its life lunges into complete darkness. It has to struggle very hard for survival. After the first 40 years of its life an eagle has a dramatic change in its body. Its talons become weak and it cannot grab its prey. Its long and sharp beak also becomes bent. Its thick feathers are stuck to its chest and it cannot fly freely due to its heavy weight. Then the eagle has only two options, either to die or pass through a painful process of metamorphosis which lasts up to 5 months.
SOUL When an eagle reaches 40, its beak, talons and wing become weak. For a new life it has to make a hard decision. It flies to the top a mountain and sits on its nest. Then it strikes its beak against the rocks and pulls it out. Then it starts plucking out its talons and feathers as well. After the completion of this painful process it waits for five months for the growth of its new beak, talons and feathers. Then it can fly freely in the sky and enjoy its new life. This change makes him able to live for thirty more years. Some changes are needed for survival in difficulty. In miserable conditions, we have to change our life style. The process may be very painful but we have to throw our old habits, memories and our daily routines for a better life. We cannot go ahead with all our past burdens. So, we have to free ourselves from all the sorrows and burdens of our lives. mmm
DREAMS
r Shushant Sharma
Dreaming is a form of mental activity that occurs during sleep. Many studies have been done to understand why a person dreams. Some of the studies say that dreams are perpetual in nature. Our dreams are directly related to our feelings, fears, wishes, needs and memories. Some psychoanalysts’ opinions say that our dreams are the expression of our own unfulfilled wishes. Dreams are also influenced by certain external factors. For examples, if a person is tired or hungry, he may dream about food or a warm and cozy bed. Some people are in the habit of day dreaming. Day dreaming is done while a person is awake. But he is not aware what is going around him. If the blanket has slipped off a sleeping person’s body, he may dream of an ice berg. In ancient times, it was believed that dreams were spiritual in origin and that were related to a person’s future. Aristotle was of the opinion that dreams originated from within. mmm

Sinusitis : A major Health Problem in Today’s world
tion, chronic sinus infection, infected sinusitis, and noninfectious sinusitis.
Sinusitis refers to an inflammation of the sinuses, airspaces within the bones of the face. Sinusitis is most often due to an infection within these spaces. Sinusitis is inflammation of the air cavities within the passages of the nose. Sinusitis can be caused by infection, but also can be caused by allergies and chemical or particulate irritation of the sinuses. The sinuses are paired air pockets located within the bones of the face. They are:
Symptoms The following symptoms are associated with rhino sinusitis: • sinus headache • facial tenderness • pressure or pain in the sinuses • Fever • cloudy discolored drainage • nasal stuffiness • sore throat • Cough
r Shivam Kharga
• the frontal sinuses; located above the eyes, in the center region of each eyebrow • the maxillary sinuses; located within the cheekbones, just to either side of the nose • The ethmoid sinuses; located between the eyes, just behind the bridge of the nose. • the sphenoid sinuses; Located just behind the ethmoid sinuses, and behind the eyes The sinuses are connected with the nose. They are lined with the same kind of skin found elsewhere within the respiratory tract. This skin has tiny little hairs projecting from it, called cilia. The cilia beat constantly, to help move the mucus produced in the sinuses into the respiratory tract. The beating cilia sweeping the mucus along the respiratory tract help to clear the respiratory tract of any debris, or any organisms which may be present. When the lining of the sinuses is at all swollen, the swelling interferes with the normal flow of mucus. Trapped mucus can then fill the sinuses, causing an uncomfortable sensation of pressure and providing an excellent environment for the growth of infection-causing bacteria. Sinus infections are caused by infections from a pathogenic microorganism (virus, bacterium, or fungus), which grows within a sinus and causes intermittent blockage of the sinus ostium. Sinusitis may be classified in several ways such as acute sinus infection, sub-acute sinus infec54
Treatment • Bacterial sinusitis is usually treated with antibiotic therapy. • Early treatment of allergic sinusitis may prevent secondary bacterial sinus infections. • Medical therapy including Sino nasal irrigation, antibiotics and nasal steroids are often combined with other novel therapies to improve or eliminate Sino nasal symptoms. • Surgery is indicated for patients with persistent sinusitis despite adequate medical therapy and severe nasal polyps caused by chronic inflammation. • Rare fungal infections of the sinuses (for example, zygomycosis) constitute a medical emergency. • There are no fungal vaccines available to prevent fungal sinus infections Prevention Prevention involves the usual standards of good hygiene to cut down on the number of colds an individual catches. Avoiding exposure to cigarette smoke, identifying and treating allergies, and avoiding deep dives in swimming pools may help prevent sinus infections. During the winter, it is a good idea to use a humidifier. Dry nasal passages may crack, allowing bacteria to enter. When allergies are diagnosed, a number of nasal sprays are available to try to prevent inflammation within the nasal passageways, thus allowing the normal flow of mucus. mmm

Then i also can’t resist my culture, society and family and burst after a period of 12 hours as nature was not in favor of us. I started my life from the secondary level, as i was no close with someone. I saw a beautiful lady got admitted in my school. As the time started and passed we used to sit nearby each other. I began to decorate her in my heart, from the first sight i saw her. We spent 1/2 years but no flower can bloom between us. As after the dashain vacation I returned for my school. As my luck I got in the same bus in which she was also coming we spent a time of 45 minutes but it seemed just about 5 minutes for me because a flower began to bloom between us, that she was also showing the sign that she have also decorated me in her heart as I explained all to her. Then we started to meet in a park near the city of Baglung, whose beauty was distributed throughout the world by a river. we used to met each other near the park and move towards the bank of river. There river used to sing for us and the fishes used to dance with the music of river. The music took our feelings and our distance all over the world. The nature also used to get shy observing the flower between us of silence and the distance between us. With the similar activities a long period of 2 years was over but I couldn’t feel it more than 2 months, as the
SOUL time was so pretty and funny without any boring and without any boundary. Now, SLC Board exam was in front of us, we faced it together and remains a few day in Baglung, though the exam was already over. She wanted now to go to her village. I took her up to the bus station and sent her with the red rose to her towards her village saying bye bye, the same she replied , At that time a piece of flower was dropped but I didn’t care that. Later I knew and understand that, that was the sign indicating that now we never will meet after this, as the piece of flower also can’t meet the main bunch of flower. And I knew that I have lost a precious thing from my life and have lost for forever and will never get back that was nothing but only she. ...... After that we couldn’t met each other and also couldn’t contact. After a few month I listened news that she have got married, I couldn’t believe myself, I felt as I was falling from a height very high. I couldn’t believe and tried to phone her but her mobile was switched off. Then I felt that there was no meaning of mine in this world without her and then I grabbed her photo on my chest and I passed a knife into my chest. At the meantime, I awake up as I was frightened and after that I saw a pillow on my hand and knew that my Bracelet of my hand has poked on my chest, not I have passed knife into my chest. All this remains as a unforgettable event in my mind, that I have dreamed at my secondary level. And at last, I want to say that till the period I have no experience of being near and talk with a girl. mmm

Motion Picture, a series of images that are projected onto a screen to create the illusion of motion. Motion pictures—also called movies, films, or the cinema—are one of the most popular forms of entertainment, enabling people to immerse themselves in an imaginary world for a short period of time. But movies can also teach people about history, science, human behavior, and many other subjects. Some films combine entertainment with instruction, to make the learning process more enjoyable. In all its forms, cinema is an art as well as a business, and those who make motion pictures take great pride in their creations.
Scene from Toy Story, Toy Story (1995), created by the animation studio Pixar and produced by the Walt Disney Company, was the first feature-length motion picture made entirely with computer animation. But when they appear rapidly in succession, the human eye does not detect that they are separate images. This results from persistence of vision, a phenomenon whereby the eye retains a visual image for a fraction of a second after the source has been removed. Although we do not experience the images as individual photographs, we do notice the differences between them. The brain then perceives these differences as motion.
