H E L LO ! I am a 23 years old industrial product design student from Istanbul. My biggest ambition in life is to take as much as possible from the world and share everything that I have with it. To me, it is so amazing how every single thing around us can be so inspirational and give us the ability to create and design something new. Observation is maybe the most important part of design. Seeing little details, catching connections between things that seem not related and combining different aspects of different principles are the keys for me to new ideas. I would like to be and work with creative people because I strongly believe that creativity increases when it is shared.

WELLE LIGHTING PROJECT BRIEF
OLED is considered to be new generation of lighting. The aim of this project was to emphasize the innovations of OLED brought and show how it can be integrated to our modern lives. Efficient use of energy and human-centered approach were important criterias.
5 WELLE Oled Lighting
OLED TECHNOLOGY OLED Lighting is the next generation of energy efficent lighting that generates beautiful, warm, natural light by passing electricity through a thin layer of carbon based organic dyes. There is a light, uniformly produced from a flat panel like a sheet of light, which creates softer shadows and in this way it reduces the chance of eye fatigue. With a maximum thickness of 0,8 mm, OLED lighting panel has a vastly increased bending radius to enable more flexible use. OLED technology eliminates the need of a lampshade and creates a totally new understanding in lighting design.

FINAL DESIGN
New generation lighting Welle is designed by using the OLED technology, which is considered to be the future of illumination and bring these innovations with user’s needs together while creating an unique and dynamic
WELLE Oled Lighting 10
CONCEPT Welle patterns The basic idea behind Welle was to give the user freedom of adjusting the amount of light they need. There are 6 independent OLED sheets that can be controlled with sliding buttons. Once the sheets are bent, all the rest is up to user. They will be designing their own Welle pattern while deciding how much and how many sheets is going to enlight their place.

SLIDING SYSTEM Soundboard inspiration Control of the system is working just like a soundboard. As user moves the sliding button, electric circuit will be completed and OLEDs will start to glow. Since one edge of the OLED panels are connected to the button, they will start to bend at the same time.

Maximum and minimum lenghts of the sheets are decided considering the material’s stability and flexibility. Different lenghts of the sheets result in different heights and create more variety. It was important to choose a flawless and smooth material for the base not to damage the OLED sheets. Polished aluminium meets this need while completing Welle’s overall futuristic appearance.

VA N A MINI KETTLE PROJECT BRIEF
In this project, we were expected to create and develop a new design concept for an existing or not yet existing domestic electrical product, taking the challenges of modern lifestyles and habits and needs of modern society into consideration.
15 VANA Mini Kettle
CONCEPT Does everyone really need a kettle with 1.7 liter capacity? For most of us, an electric kettle is a must-have appliance and really useful in our daily routine For the ones who start the day with a cup of herbal tea or others who likes tea breaks during the day, a kettle is even more crucial. But why we have to buy a huge and bulky kettle instead of a compact and stylish one that can suffice our personal use with its size?

19 VANA Mini Kettle
FINAL DESIGN Inspired by the bubbles of boiling water, Vana is a mini kettle designed for personal use. In contrast to ordinary kettles, it has a bottle-like shape with a half spherical lid that rotates around its axis and easify ďŹ lling and pouring processes. It allow to tilt the kettle while pouring and eliminates the problems of ďŹ lling it under the water in small sink.

1
Open the spherical lid by around its axis and tilt Vana to position it under the water. Because of the expanding shape of the body the water will fill easily and find its way inwards.
2
After filling water, rotate and close lid to its initial position and place Vana on its base.
3
Turn it on by touching its touch button. One touch is going to warm the water, while two touches will boil it.
4
After the light of the touch button is off, your water is ready to use. Enjoy your drink!

VANA Adjusting temperature Combining on/off button and heat settings as one touch button keeps the surface of the body very clean and makes Vana more minimal looking. The principle of adjusting temperature is so simple. Once the button is touched, one heating icon will start to glow and the light will turn off when the water is warm. If the button got touched two times, it is the mode of boiling and both of the heating icons will glow till water is boiled. To cancel the process the button should be touched three times in total, when there is no light coming from the icons.

25 RIVE Coffee Holder
TAKE-AWAY COFFEE
Coffee shop culture Coffee is the world’s second most traded commodity. According to International Coffee Organization coffee consumption in Turkey has increased by 15.6 percent last year. Growing popularity of coffeeshops also have a signiďŹ cant contrubition to this trend and they became parts of our daily life. Modernization also brought take away concept next to this coffee culture.

RESEARCH
27 RIVE Coffee Holder
IDEATION The problem After the market research, I observe that all the coffee holders are designed for a certain number of cups. One, two or four cups can be carried with the existing holders and every coffeeshop is offering only one type of them. So I wanted to design a new coffee holder that offers multiple options.

MODELLING & TESTING
29 RIVE Coffee Holder
FINAL DESIGN rive Designed with considering the dimensions and angles of a regular coffee cup and also taking into account how people carry the holders in most comfortable way, Rive allows to take away one to four cups optionally.
RIVE Coffee Holder 30
CONCEPT
Rive is a long sheet of perforated cardboard. Every unit has its handle and precut line, where the cup will be placed. After upper and lower parts are bent to opposite directions, the cup will be squeezed between them.
31 RIVE Coffee Holder
USAGE SCENARIO 11
2
First step is to tear off the needed number of Rive units. With the help of precut dashed line, this is a very easy step. Just like a toilet paper!
Second step is to open the space where cups will be placed. Pulling upper and lower parts of the precut line into opposite directions will create that space, while semi-cut lines on both sides give the right angle to it.
3
Third step is to position the cups. They will be squeezed between two parts. The rest is to bring all the handles together if multiple cups are going to be carried and just take them away to enjoy the coffees as soon as possible!

The trick of Rave is the cut line where handle starts. It allows handle to bend independently from the lower part which has a ďŹ xed radius of the cup that takes the shape of it. So handles can be grabbed with an optimum radius that changes with the number of cups.

BAR WA L LWA S H E R PROJECT BRIEF
This project was for the class “Basic Design Principles of Lighting Luminaries”. It was an introduction class with the guidance of a lighting equipments designer and manufacturer company “Lamp83”. It was a group project with four students and the aim was to combining technical requirement of lighting design with a aesthetic approach.
43 BAR Wallwasher
BAR OF LAMP83
We choose outdoor luminaire Bar to redesign among the other products of Lamp83. It was a challenging one, since we have to consider outdoor conditions, while trying to give it an aesthetic value for the real market.
BAR Wallwasher 44
OUTDOOR LIGHTING
Wallwasher/ Wall grazer Wallwashers which are placed on the ground and wall grazers which are placed on the wall itself considered to be focused on more functionality than any other outdoor lighting. Their function is to reveal the texture or the beauty of the walls. Therefore it is very important for them to blend in with the surroundings and not to put themselves forward. This has a considerable effect and importance on the design process.
45 BAR Wallwasher
RESEARCH
Road map After the market research, we decided to focus on luminaire’s legs to make it multifunctional and also to ease of assembly and maintain.

FINAL DESIGN
The new BAR
The new bar became a exible and multifunctional luminaire with its adjustable legs. It can be implemented on the ground as a wallwasher as well as on the wall as a wall grazer. The ďŹ xture allows an easy installation and easy adjustment while harmonising with any enviroment with its simple design.

BAR Wallwasher 48
CONCEPT Leg details The new legs of Bar consist of two identical parts, which stand back to back and a piece of screw that fasten those parts. This design of legs allows to adjust angle and height of the ďŹ xture really easily. First loose the screw a little bit, position the upper part which is connected to the main body in a desired height and angle, than fasten the screws again. The silicon tampon zone between the screw and the leg, provides a steady positioning after the adjustment. This process doesn’t require any tool and makes Bar a universal design as it can be tailored to any frontages.

CONCEPT
Color and dimensional options Bar offers three dimensions and three colors to meet all the possible needs of the user. Basic colors white, grey and black are choosen to keep its minimal looking and to prevent stealing role from the enviroment. Also with 30-60-90 cm long bodies it can be easily implemented to any exterior space.

Technical details Durability in outdoor conditions is the most important factor. Therefore all of our part is protected with higher IPs. Overall design doesn’t have complex shapes or corners that might be effected badly from the enviroment. It is as simple and compact as possible. LEDs are protected with a tempered glass which is ďŹ xed with silicon. The driver is left out of the main body for reaching much more easily in case of any failure.
