Sol Duc Cabin Case Study (Final Project)
Dog House Using the sketch up is my first time and I was able to enjoy playing around with some of the tools in the big toolbar menu, especially the paint bucket tool bar. I discovered a lot of options in the paint bucket tool, such as , transparent ,water , and wood colors. I also got used to using the rectangle, move and push/pull button, which helped me a lot in finishing my fist dog house. Moreover , in this iteration I enjoyed using the line and push/pull tool One of my strength in this excecise is that I took a lot of experimentations , exploration and risk in creating my first attemp of using sketch up basic tool, which will be useful for me in my future. There are a lot of several issues in my first iteration And there was also less or no repetition in my design , i think it made my design lack in integrity.
Circular Stair In this circular stair exercise I learned about how to create component using line and follow me tools. I think the power of component and follow me tool is really awesome in creating circular stair and I could do it well now. I got to know handle it to create certain walls by using components.The most challenging part of this exercise is to figure out how to use component and group well because it looks like a lot of things we can do with component how to use component in various kinds of conditions in order to do well in
this circular stair exercise.
MalevicStudies In Malevich Inspired Construction exercise, I learned about how to use line, rectangle, and circle and arc tools to trace the
shapes. I got to know how to place the blue sky background. The most challenging part is placing the blue sky and after this exercise and when I practice more , I can handle it now .
Foldiing ,intersect and sandbox studies This folding, intersect and sandbox studies is my favorite exercise which I learned so far. It had a lot of fun to make paper
airplane flotilla. And I’m really interested in using sanbox tools because I liked to create 3D organic surfaces by using it. To me, most challenging part for this exercise is folding paper airplanes by using Rotate, Protractor tool to get its accuracy. But after practicing 3 airplanes, it was faster and a lot of fun. I just start to fall in love with sketch up after knowing many tools.
Interior Design Studies In this interior studies, I learned the interior design choices affect the space I got to know the shape of space and how to make window openings. The most challenging part for this exercise is window opening and it really needs to go in detail and it took a lot of time for me to get these.
PhotoMatch Studies In this photo match exercise, I got to know more about vanishing point, perspective bars and horizon line and how to apply it. The most challenging part is figuring out about which which photographs goes where. I just trying to match as much as I can .It took me so long to get completed model though and I just finished by using tools and skills which I learned so far and adding some 2D images I like. I think I could do well in this exercise because I got to familiar with most of the tools and how to handle it.

Sol Duc Cabin Case Study I started the final project with the interior walls , floor
and I created the windows by reviewing the window study . Going to detail about window study and putting furniture from 3D warehouse design are really interesting to me. And It consume a lot of time also. And I created the
landscape by applying the experiment of paper airplane and sandbox. Because of several situations, I lost many hours because of my weakness of using tools and applying its ability. I learned and get to know how to apply all of the overview of the previous studies in this final project.
