Ayers Saint Gross recently worked to make Washington, DC the greenest, healthiest and most livable city in the nation. In tandem with the District’s Office of Planning and Department of the Environment, the firm developed the District’s first sustainability action plan that looks at what the city can achieve by 2032. Nine public working groups focused on the built environment, climate, energy, food, nature, transportation, waste, water, and the green economy, to develop the District’s first sustainability plan. More than 700 people participated in the working groups developing and prioritizing more than 900 recommendations for what the District needs to do over the next 20 years to be sustainable.
