Above & Beyond Southeast Insurance’s Kristi Stocker brings smiles, satisfaction to clients and community Kristi Stocker became intrigued with the art of sales at the age of 16 when she started selling ads at the Ashley News Observer alongside her aunt, Charlotte Johnson. After high school, she worked for a property and casualty insurance agency and was quickly recognized as one of the top three agents in the United States in life insurance sales. Stocker realized her interest was in the life, health and investment business, and joined Southeast Insurance in McGehee. Shortly after, Stocker and company owner John Clower formed Southeast Insurance of Crossett, Inc. Within two years, she purchased the agency from Clower and became the sole owner. She sought to make it easy to do business by “providing extraordinary service and solutions to extraordinary clients” and has continued with this commitment for 25 years. Today, Southeast Insurance is a preferred agency for Blue Cross Blue Shield of Arkansas and specializes in health insurance, employee benefits and Medicare supplement insurance. The company has a 98 percent client retention rate, which speaks directly to the satisfaction with the services Southeast provides, and Stocker has been honored with many awards and recognition from some of the top insurance companies in the United States. But according to her, the biggest reward is her customers, many of whom have been with her since the opening of the agency in Crossett. “I have always had a desire to provide great service to my clients, and then go the extra mile to bring extraordinary services to them, services they had no idea was even available.” When working with employers’ benefit plans, there are several different facets to review, she says. “The goal is to reduce the overall cost of the plan and not to focus on not just the obvious, such as deductible, co-insurance, etc.,” she says. “When reviewing plans, we look to make sure they are getting every benefit from the plan they are currently on. The biggest thing we see is the lack of education

that is provided to the employees. We make sure each employee gets what they are paying for. More times than not, people are paying for benefits but are not receiving the full benefits of the policy. The important thing is not making the sell; it’s the service after the sell. Anyone can sell a policy; not everyone can service what they sell.” In addition to owning Southeast Insurance and two other companies, Stocker is very passionate about and heavily involved in youth organizations and her community. She serves on the boards of the Miss High School America System and the Crossett Area Chamber of Commerce, and is a member of Kiwanis and the Christmas in Crossett committee. She and her companies have worked with the local chamber, other businesses and non-profits to bring out a little extra in her town and its people. She encourages her roughly 7, 500 fellow Crossett citizens to shop local at one of the town’s 11 unique boutiques and has led efforts to get local businesses to dress up and decorate the community for special events, including fall, football season, Christmas and a festival, which Southeast Insurance underwrote, in conjunction with the 67th annual PRCA Rodeo. Stocker and her company have supported The Boys and Girls Club of Ashley County through a Christmas Open House, golf

tournament and presenting “Glamour Girl Day,” in which girls were treated to a motivational speaker and getting their makeup, hair and nails done. She also sponsors Level Up, a program started by Crossett Eagles girls basketball coach Shanae Goven, which is geared toward girls developing strong self worth. “I am very passionate about taking pride in the community I live in,” Stocker says. “My motto, in every part of my life is, ‘small things make a BIG difference.” For more information on the extraordinary services provided by Southeast Insurance, Inc., call (870) 364-5644 and speak with Kristi Stocker.
