hi, I am Aykut Dağ,
During my education, I participated several competitions, workshops. With the help of them and various school projects, I got the chance to work in different scales, contexts, programmes, and architecture ideas. In terms of sharing ideas and architectural approaches, learning from other people, and practicing to team work; participating architectural competitions was really instructive and didactic. General approaches of my projects were that aimed to research architecture in diferent manners with experimental methods and tried to reach unthought and unminded groups, minorities. The narrative side of projects in this book were the most enjoyable parts of them. I tried to adumbrate it while using different presentation technics. It can be checked my behance account to see all my works as with more details.

E[co]create is an open space for willing people to create, learning, and thinking together in Beylikdüzü, which try to encourage society to work in solidarity. It can be assimilated to a living organism with its expandable, sensitive -to its surroundings- and constantly alive structure. The base of this structure consists of concepts such as collaborative acts, collective learning and production, ecological approaches, historical footprints and existing virtually. State policies, which do not always consider public good, and profit-making capitalist approaches have always been an important dominance in urbanization. People need to act together in order to look out for their own benefits and stand against this dominance. Even if the development of Beylikdüzü with mass housing projects caused great concretions, people have managed to protect a relatively livable environment with cooperative work. While settling in the protected nature and the agricultural areas of the coastal area of Beylikdüzü, it is necessary to think about its cooperative background, the urban texture, and intersections. At this point collaborative acts, collective learning and ecological approaches are substantial. It is necessary to convey the culture of solidarity in the region, to continue development, progress, and learning. While doing all this, protection the balance of nature is important. In order to manage waste, prevent energy consumption and make the system self-sufficient, some concepts are considered to be adapted to the project: gray water conversion, agricultural waste utilization, use of motion energy of bicycles, solar energy etc. Digitalization and promotion are two important elements in order to keep up with the developing ages and to be a part of progress. It is no longer enough to exist physically, it is also necessary to exist virtually. With the “New Normal”, notion of digitalization spread more than before in society, even if in old generation people who do not tend to it. People are getting used to be physically alone, but virtually social. This situation is considered as a good way to promotion of archeological site in the area. With an application to be written, it is aimed to provide an interface where people can visit the area without coming to the region and a game where they can experience the area differently when they come. It was thought that this practice could spread over time, apply to historical sites in different places, and turn into a more global. In addition, through this application, an open database can be created and various resources can release there that can be used by the artists, which make digital art, besides, some parts of it can be open to public use. 7

“Donna Haraway’s “Cyborg Manifesto,” published in the Socialist Review in 1985, sought to explicate a feminist position on science and technology studies as well as to offer a response to the rising conservatism during the 1980s in the United States. The Manifesto can largely be understood as a subversion of the philosophical position of essentialism, which believes in the static being of entities. The cyborg trope or metaphor is deployed to disrupt categories like gender and sexuality that have become essentialized in modernity. This loosely categorizes Haraway’s project as fitting under the auspices of third wave feminism. Yet, the Manifesto’s breadth is much wider, casting a net that gathers together disparate disciplines such as science studies, postmodernism, critical theory, biology, and linguistics. The Manifesto has had considerable influence in the years since its publication; most notably, in the fields of feminism, science studies, and critical theory. It may also be viewed as an important precursor to the development of queer theory and posthumanism in the 1990s for its rejection of gender and sexual categories and its approbation of polymorphous sexuality.” [Glazier W.J, 2016] 30
“Judith Butler, in her prologue that she wrote in 1999 to “Gender Trouble” describes her book as a provocative intervention to feminist theory and one of the basic texts of queer theory. Actually, Butler objects to the concept of gender’s being performed on masculinity, femininity and its being reduced to this. She is oppose to accepting certain notions of sexuality as stereotyped norms. She explains clearly that her aim is not an insistence of certain realities or patterns about gender on the reader. According to Butler, it must be possible to evaluate some sexual practices that exist as minority and make them be considerable in the matter of gender. “Briefly, one is a woman, according to this framework, to the extent that one functions as one within the dominant heterosexual frame and to call the frame into question is perhaps to lose something of one’s sense of place in gender.” (Butler 11).” [Çınar B, 2015] 31
“ As everybody know that it is neither the begining nor the end. This is a spatial thing that u can not ignore it after today. This is special type of acting. This is more than protesting something, this is a new kind of life. This is the way that how weperform our existence in your social order. We are not “DIVERGENT” anymore. It was actually start because of you, but it will never end. We were always in there, just in front of your eyes. But now, our time

begins. This is the end of life that you know. You always discriminate us from your world had standarts that just accept you and is accepted by you. In the new world, we collapse the standarts. The main problem is not about sexuality, disability, body, or brain. The problem is how you contact with your body and what your perception about gender, disability or mental disorder is. Indeed, glitch is in your mind, it is way
of your thinking. We are not queer anymore, not disabled. Nobody will be discriminated or isolated.Collapse of unrealistic society standarts will make everyone free.” - qfault’s
“ACTION” is basically a rebellion started by discriminated people from existing society. Major actors of society ,people that have power of change someting, are not interested in people who do not return a profit for them. This is the main cause of distirimination of minorty. The fact that physical diversity is not accepted by the society, has caused these people to get closer to each other. Smaller groups have formed over time in order to solidarity and even to survive. Various actions, social movements, parties, interviews and many others have been organized by these groups just to announce their existence to the whole society. With the development of technology, people who have obtained various opportunities have begun to use different ways to express themselves.

Karaköy car park is a multi-layered structure with gaps that can be hidden in spite of it is in sight of people. It was inevitable that this structure would allow some illegal activities to begin. It is an undeniable fact that problematic relations with the body can cause some problematic actions. People who became alienated by the pressures of society needed to change it and wanted to be something else. They wanted to be strong, beautiful, even being perfect; shortly they wanted to be superior by comparison other people, so that they could not be bullied any more.
34
With the appearence of a production that would be the solution to this problem, something has started to change in society. Now people could change and design their bodies as they wanted. This incident, which started secretly from the general public in the Karaköy Otopark, has become something that is known by everyone. With the rapid increase in the number of these people designing their own bodies, it come off the hinges. They called themselves “Q-Fault” and published manifesto and papers. This incident, which evolved a rebellion, took
place in somewhere else in İstanbul as Karaköy Otopark. This rebellion gradually became known as “ACTION”. As people changed, they changed their places. Thus, Karaköy Otopark has become a HighTech structure to serve QFault.

Eggs are structures that hang between the production and evolution phase in building. It is a predetermined chemical condition that these eggs irradiate at various times. Artificial evolution of humans into Cyborg-like things is due to the various biomechanical parts to be added to them. A normal storage option is not possible for biomechanical parts. Special warehouses are required. The main purpose of the eggs is to ensure these biomechanical parts (arms, legs, eyes, stomach, etc.) to be added to humans without intact. These parts, which are protected in their own special fluid, are assembled in accordance with human beings, as they want, in the evolutionary phase.

It has evolved into a high-tech structure due to its circulation and always continuous operation. As the strucnges to something cyborg-like as humans, various limbs ed. The robotic arms provide the communication between phases (production and evolution) in the structure. These rate parts have no other connection. The circulation of the on part and the circulation of the evolution part operate es completely separately. In the operating room, the necesorg limbs are carried by robotic arms from the storages of uction part.
There is a large sphere on the right side of the building when coming from Gümrük Street. This sphere has connections with both the main circulation of the evolution phase of building and the gym that is under the services. The sphere was designed as a simulation room by q-faults. It allows to people, that transform themselves into cyborg-like things, test their new bodies with various machines inside here (vr, xr technologies, flexible devices, soft machines, etc.). This is why it works with the gym. Gym was designed for similar purposes. Cyborg people are included in the compliance program while staying in the nursing rooms. Every day, they try to get used to their limbs&new organs by doing various exercises and practices in these two areas.

The Pipe is located on the side of the Gümrük Street which is thought to be the main façade of the building. The structure provides the transition from the main circulation area of the evolution phase of building to the simulation sphere. This structure is covered with a translucent material. Thanks to this translucent material, cyborg people passing through will be able to see the outside. But people who look outside will not be able to see the cyborg fully. This material is transparent enough to ensure publicity and visibility. This is a different way of saying “We are here”. It is also impermeable to ensure privacy.

Otoparkı was a building located in the center of an area with blicity. Despite this position, it was not an active public space. ntrance level cafes, restaurants and similar structures were as ublic spaces as capitalism predicted. The publicity of these private ses followed a linear graph with the purchasing power of indiThis created inaccessible spaces by people without money. This changed as Karaköy otoparkı evolved and became more public. ance level has become dysfunctional and completely left to the Over time, this place has become a stopping point and center of ce for the aforementioned minorities. This area, which has bestopover point for anyone wishing to support with the open call of is also an observation point for enthusiasts and a crossing point urs. Now, this an interesting public place for eveyone because of ctures that can be seen here while looking up.
The “ACTION ” movement started not only in Karaköy Otoparkı, but also in various parts of Istanbul and in tome, it was spread to Istanbul. With the growth of this movement, there was a need for a structure that could be held as a decision-making mechanism to control everything from a single center with meetings etc. A control center, The Brain as called, was established as a product of this need. Representatives from all kinds of minorities can come to this center and they can play an active role in the “ACTION ”movement by making their community visible. At the same time, The Brain provides the communication of Karaköy Otoparkı with other centers. The Brain ensures the communication as well as the sustainability of the function of the whole building. All High-Tech mechanisms of the building are controlled from here. So, basically it is the brain of a building.

Vertical Farming C. cons. pr. |3d printed
assoc. prof. Emrah Acar It is designed for 3d printing of concrete. By considering the disasters, food crisis can be thought as a one of the main problem in different disaster scenarios. In fact, scarcity in agriculture is actually important issue not just in disaster, but also in everyday for the some regions. Climate changing, overpopulation in cities, and similar problems make it essential to find efficient and effective solutions for food production. In that scenario, plot area is considered as a neighborhood in a city had problems about agriculture (high cost vegetables because of transportation cost etc.). The aim of the project is to create a place to grow plants in smal area by participants in neighborhood. Establishment of small circular economy model in neighborhood can to be a solution for the high costs of vegetables. Besides, they can sell the vegetables that surplus to requirement. Additionally, for the sustainability of concept educational spaces are provided in these buildings to raise awareness of people about agriculture crisis and vertical farming to support the sustainability. There are five similar building and an open shop in middle of these buildings. Every building has a own class in second floor for 12-16 students and a area for small meetings.

Locked-down in
Endless House Competition honorable mantion
Even if we are stuck at home, can still be a social being in virtual ways. Rooms that we live become somethings else not really physically but virtually, that allows us to be a physically individual and virtually community. We can still drink coffee while talking our friends as in coffee, connect our teachers as in class, work as in office, read as in library, moreover, all these activities can be done in the same table. So, it is a question that interaction between function and space contrarily functionalists said before. Otherwise, nowadays, it may be agreed that emotional and intellectual interaction -not just with outside but also with ourselves- is even more than before. “Machine-house” dream is not working anymore. Reconsideration of functions of house as far as we know (kitchen, bedroom etc.) must be thought ,with an eye to new technologies, as new scenarios that has more fluid spaces, more indefinite boundaries, and more complex human requirements and their relations. These consequences make our houses more important, not just for physical requirements but also as an impersonal environment that effects our emotions and thoughts, besides, with awareness about that our psychologies affected by environment unconsciously. According to Freud, human-beings are in search of space as warm, peaceful and exorable as its mother’s womb. Baby in there has physical senses but has not self-awareness of its physical being. It has not image of entity. Baby experiences situation of being absent. Otherwise, had physical sense without its awareness of body boundaries, causes that baby experiences situation of integrity & entirety. It may be drawn a parallel between this Freudian phenomenon and our conditions while experiencing quarantine. Physically being absent but virtually, being in everywhere. F. Kiesler got inspired Freud just as other surrealists. Unconscious relations between spaces, boundaries were important. But, while designing Endless House, Kiesler had other ideas as his word “Correalism” that is concept about interaction of humans with its environment and technology. Endless house was the house that allows transaction and transmission of environments; it was poem, sculpture, dance and theatre on the contrary to boxes of machine-age. Functions were actually rituals in Endless House. It seems that Kiesler’s ideas for house are useful to create a new kind of space of living with adding new opportunities and technologies as soft machines, structural inventions, new material etc. While keeping his main ideas, houses may transform to more suitable place for digital era.

cuhadaroglu competition pr. w/ Aslı Mut
Pasaj, İstanbul’un Şişli ilçesinde bulunan Halaskargazi Caddesi üzerinde konumlanmış, bünyesinde mimarlar başta olmak üzere farklı pek çok disiplin için ortak çalışma alanı bulunduran, halkın gayriihtiyari dikkatini çekme amacıyla cadde üzerine yerleşmiş büyük bir işliktir. 49

The Industrial Quarter has been in a constant and rapid change since beginning of its life after workshops and repairers moved to region. Taking advanta structure there, Glitch [queer] Space aims to bring the minority social groups to society through various artistic activities. It is aimed that coexistence of variou ceived from each other will increase the tolerance of these groups to each other and lead to the destruction of various prejudices. In addition to this partnersh areas to the people who are homeless, and sets up spaces for everyone who wants to be alone. Spaces proposed for these oppressed people were designe practices in order to be free enough. The term glitch, which is defined as short-lived errors in the digital system, is used in project title to characterize the situ discrimination and at the same time referring to change of meaning of the word `queer`. `Glitch Art` practices are used to space and visual production by

concept & participants & spaces
In Sanayi M, free access society that is desired to be established for people who are excluded by existing society is an anarchist entity inevitably due to its social existence. Whatever thing is intended here is to initiate a harmonization process within the existing change in the social structure of there. It was intended to bring together the leper –people who be marginalized - and others –people who do that- and to create a protected area for the lepers. L G B T I + community is thought as lepers.
Anarchitecture practices were used to investigate the spatial counterparts of the social formation to be lived here. According to Woods, in order to overcome social imbalances, the hierarchy must be destroyed and instead it should be replaced by heterarchy. Heterarchical societies are rich in diversity and choice; complex, flowing and multilayered structures, where art and life flow together, contain a fluent authority. The heterarchical city can be seen as a free zone structured within the hierarchical and historical city. These free zones are separated from the other infra structure and present themselves as a ’heterarchic city’: an independent city from authoritarian control. It is inevitable that this life to be established in Sanayi M. creates a heterarchical society. The places to be established for this heterarchic society should not be expected to be fully defined. Semi-defined spaces open to free use will also contribute to the diversity of society. In this context, Woods’ “free-space” concept has been thought as an important sub idea.
60
“glitch” is not only conceptually but also used as a production technique. For the spatial creation&researching, “glitches” were used digitally with the help of coding and manually made with the camera. In this way, a random situation has been created and the concept of “free-space” has been investigated. The resulting products were reproduced by using drawing and model techniques and spatial responses were searched. At the same time, the color palette in the images consists of colors formed as a result of coding. Some of the used codes appear on the side.
